Check the exact RX 570 model’s power-supply recommendation and PCIe power connector, then compare them with your PSU’s rated output and cables. AMD’s RX 570 specification gives a 450 W minimum PSU recommendation, but individual card makers can set a higher requirement: the ASRock RX 570 Phantom Gaming U 8G OC, for example, recommends 500 W.
Find the exact RX 570 model
“RX 570” alone is not enough to confirm compatibility. Board partners may specify different power consumption, PSU recommendations, and connectors, including between their own RX 570 models. Check the card’s label, box, receipt, or purchase record for its manufacturer and full model name, including any OC or overclocked designation.
Then look up that exact model on the manufacturer’s official product page or in its manual. Record the recommended PSU wattage and the auxiliary PCIe power connector it lists.
Compare the card specifications
| RX 570 example | PSU recommendation | Listed GPU power | Auxiliary connector |
| AMD RX 570 reference specification | 450 W minimum | 150 W typical desktop board power | Not listed on AMD’s specification page; check the specific board model. AMD specification |
| MSI RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC | 450 W | 150 W | 1 × 8-pin. MSI specification |
| ASRock RX 570 Phantom Gaming U 8G OC | 500 W | Not stated on the cited specification page | 1 × 8-pin. ASRock specification |
| MSI RX 570 GAMING 4G | 450 W | 120 W | 1 × 8-pin. MSI specification |
AMD’s 150 W figure is typical desktop board power; its 450 W figure is a minimum PSU recommendation. Neither number is a guarantee for every RX 570 variant or a calculation of your complete system’s load. Use your card maker’s recommendation for the specific model.

Identify the PSU and its cables
- Read the PSU’s physical label to identify its manufacturer and model. If the label is hard to reach, check the original purchase record or the PSU documentation.
- Find the PSU manufacturer’s documentation for that model and check its rated output and which PCIe GPU power cables it provides.
- Compare the PSU’s rating with the exact graphics card’s recommendation, and make sure the PSU has the PCIe connector the card requires. For example, if the card specifies one 8-pin connector, confirm that the PSU has a suitable PCIe 8-pin cable.
- Consider the complete PC configuration too. The card maker’s recommendation is not an individual system load calculation, and the graphics card’s specifications cannot establish the condition or suitability of an unknown PSU.
Do not infer compatibility from the PSU’s remembered wattage or from the RX 570 name alone. If you cannot identify the card or PSU model, or cannot confirm the rating or cable, obtain the missing information or ask a qualified PC technician to assess the system.

If the PSU falls short of the exact card maker’s recommendation or lacks the required PCIe cable, do not assume it is suitable based on a headline wattage. Check the rest of the system’s requirements and compare replacement PSUs by rated output and native PCIe cable provision. The appropriate choice depends on the specific card and whole-PC configuration; the RX 570 label by itself does not establish one universal PSU wattage.
