To check whether your PC matches CD PROJEKT RED’s published Path Tracing target for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, compare its GPU, CPU and system memory with the full configuration—not just the graphics card. The target reported from the developer’s table is 2160p (4K) with DLSS and Frame Generation at 60 FPS, using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, an Intel Core i9-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 24 GB of system memory. It is a test target, not a guarantee for every PC or scene.
Confirm which version includes Path Tracing
This feature is for the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, released September 29, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED says Path Tracing is available on PC in Remastered. CD PROJEKT RED’s release announcement identifies the edition and release date.
Compare your PC with the published Path Tracing target
The Path Tracing row in CD PROJEKT RED’s updated requirements is reported by PC Gamer as the following configuration. The component-level transcription is PC Gamer’s reporting of the developer’s table; the developer’s support page separately explains how its performance targets were measured.

PC Gamer’s September 29, 2026 report gives the component-level figures from CD PROJEKT RED’s published table. The developer’s updated PC requirements say the Path Tracing performance figures were measured with upscaling and Frame Generation enabled.

Check your own PC, step by step
- Find the hardware models. Record the exact GPU and CPU model, plus the amount of installed system memory. A broad label such as “RTX graphics” is not enough to compare your system with the listed GPU.
- Choose the resolution and preset you intend to use. The published target is for 2160p and RT Ultra. If you plan to use a different resolution or graphics settings, you are no longer comparing against the same target.
- Check the rendering features in the comparison. The target uses DLSS and Frame Generation. A comparison that omits either feature is not an equivalent comparison.
- Compare every component. Check GPU, CPU and memory together. Matching the RTX 5080 alone does not establish that the rest of a system matches the target.
- Treat an FPS estimate as uncertain. Without a benchmark for your exact hardware and settings, the published target cannot predict your precise in-game result.
How to interpret a mismatch
If one or more of your components are below the listed configuration, that means your PC does not match the published target. It does not prove Path Tracing cannot run at a lower resolution or with different settings: the cited sources do not provide a universal pass/fail cutoff for all possible configurations.
Likewise, matching the listed parts does not guarantee 60 FPS in every scene. CD PROJEKT RED says its expected FPS targets are based on QA tests and that performance can vary with scene, system configuration, graphics settings and output resolution. The developer also notes that higher resolution significantly affects FPS. Its stated test method includes upscaling and Frame Generation, so do not interpret the target as 60 FPS without those features.

Check general installation and operating-system readiness
The updated requirements call for an SSD. CD PROJEKT RED also says the game may still run on Windows 10, but it no longer develops or tests on that operating system and cannot guarantee future compatibility or performance. These are general game-readiness and support considerations; they do not, by themselves, determine whether Path Tracing will work on a particular PC.
