To check whether your PC can run Resident Evil Requiem, identify its Windows version, processor, graphics card and dedicated video memory, RAM, DirectX support, and whether the game drive is an SSD. Compare every item with Capcom’s minimum requirements first, then its recommended tier. Meeting a tier is a planning guide—not a guarantee of a particular frame rate on every system.

Resident Evil Requiem PC requirements

The Steam and Epic Games Store listings give the following PC requirements. The targets are Capcom’s published support targets, not independent benchmark results; frame rate may fall when processing load is high.

Component Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 11, 64-bit Windows 11, 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500
Memory 16 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, 6 GB, or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, 8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, 8 GB, or AMD Radeon RX 6600, 8 GB
DirectX Version 12 Version 12
Storage SSD required SSD required
Stated gameplay target 1080p, upscaled from native 640p, at 30 fps 1080p, upscaled from native 720p, at 60 fps

These are the official requirements published by Capcom and shown on the Steam listing and Epic Games Store listing. The listings do not specify an SSD capacity or interface, so check your PC and the drive you plan to use rather than assuming a particular size or connection is required.

How to check your PC specs

Capcom recommends using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (DxDiag) to collect system information. The report can show details such as the graphics card model and VRAM. You can also use Windows Settings and Task Manager to check basic system and memory information.

  1. Check Windows: Open Settings > System > About. Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and note the edition and version. The game’s listed requirement is Windows 11, 64-bit.
  2. Find your processor and RAM: On the same About page, note the processor model and installed RAM. Compare the exact processor name with the requirement table; the listed memory requirement is 16 GB.
  3. Run DxDiag: Search the Start menu for Run, or press Windows+R, enter dxdiag, and press Enter. Wait for the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to finish collecting information.
  4. Check graphics and DirectX: In DxDiag, review the Display tab for the GPU name and available display-memory details, and check the System tab for DirectX information. If you need a report to compare later, select Save All Information… and save the text file.
  5. Check the installation drive: Identify the drive where you would install the game and confirm it is an SSD. The listings require an SSD but do not state a minimum capacity.

Capcom’s troubleshooting guidance describes the DxDiag process in its Steam support thread. If your PC is a laptop, note its exact model as well as the GPU name; the same or similar GPU branding does not establish that a laptop has desktop-level performance.

Compare your specs with the tiers

  • Minimum tier: Check that the OS, CPU, GPU and dedicated VRAM, RAM, DirectX support, and installation drive meet the minimum column. A component below a named baseline—or an unknown GPU/VRAM configuration—makes the result uncertain.
  • Recommended tier: Compare the same components with the recommended column to see whether your PC matches Capcom’s higher tier and its stated upscaled 1080p, 60 fps target.
  • Mixed results: If some components meet recommended requirements and others only meet minimum, do not treat the PC as fully recommended. Capcom’s component list does not provide a formula for balancing a stronger CPU against a weaker GPU, or vice versa.

For a PC that meets minimum requirements but not recommended ones, Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting thread suggests lowering graphics settings. Keep Windows and graphics drivers current when investigating problems. Capcom says PCs below minimum may have poor frame rates or may not run, and it does not warrant or officially support operation below those requirements.

Important caveats for laptops and shared graphics

Capcom cautions that normal operation is not guaranteed on onboard graphics or other devices that share VRAM with main memory. System RAM shown in Windows is not interchangeable with a graphics card’s dedicated VRAM requirement.

Capcom also warns that mobile GPUs meeting the listed minimum or recommended specifications may not run the game properly because mobile GPU performance can be substantially lower than that of regular GPUs. Laptop power limits and the specific configuration matter, so a laptop GPU’s name alone is not enough to conclude that it performs like a desktop card with a similar name.

Hands-on reports are specific to the hardware and software tested. For example, PC Gamer’s February 27, 2026 performance analysis reported difficulty on an initial ROG Ally test at low settings, then updated its coverage to say the game ran well on Steam Deck. Those observations do not establish performance for every handheld, laptop, or integrated GPU.

Can a demo tell you whether your PC will run the full game?

The Epic Games Store page lists a demo covering part of the game’s early stages. It can provide an optional hands-on check on your own PC, but the listing says demo save data cannot transfer to the full game. It does not claim that demo performance predicts every later scene or every PC configuration.
