Yes—compare your PC with DREADMOOR’s official minimum requirements field by field. You need 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600-class processor, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB or Radeon RX 580 with 8 GB, DirectX 12, and 60 GB of free storage. The recommended tier raises the target to a Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 4060 or Radeon RX 7600.
Use the checks below to record your exact Windows edition, processor, graphics card and VRAM, installed memory, DirectX version, and free disk space. Meeting the minimum row means your configuration matches the publisher’s stated minimum tier; it does not promise a particular resolution, graphics preset, or frame rate.
DREADMOOR system requirements at a glance
The official Steam listing, accessed October 19, 2026, gives two hardware tiers. The minimum tier is the threshold for a supported configuration. The recommended tier is the better comparison when you want more headroom, but the listing does not attach a guaranteed FPS, resolution, or graphics preset to either tier.

What you need to record before comparing
Write down the exact values shown by Windows rather than relying on a product family name or what you remember buying. A desktop or laptop can contain several similarly named parts, and a graphics card’s VRAM capacity matters for the minimum GPU entry.
- Windows edition and architecture: for example, Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- CPU model: the complete processor name, such as “Intel Core i5-8400” rather than just “Core i5.”
- GPU model: the discrete or integrated adapter currently used for games.
- GPU memory: dedicated VRAM, shown in GB where Windows or the driver reports it.
- System RAM: total installed memory, such as 8 GB or 16 GB.
- DirectX: the DirectX version reported by Windows and whether the graphics device supports DirectX 12.
- Free storage: space available on the drive where you plan to install the game.
Step 1: Check Windows and 64-bit support
Use Settings
- Open Settings from the Start menu.
- Select System, then About.
- Read Windows specifications to identify the edition and version. Windows 10 and Windows 11 satisfy the “Windows 10 or higher” wording in the listing.
- Read Device specifications and find System type. It must identify a 64-bit operating system and a 64-bit-capable processor.
If your system is running a 32-bit edition of Windows, it does not match the published requirement even if the processor itself is powerful enough. A 32-bit/64-bit mismatch cannot be fixed by changing a graphics setting; it requires moving to a supported 64-bit Windows installation, subject to your hardware and software compatibility.
Alternative: System Information
Press Win+R, enter msinfo32, and press Enter. In System Summary, check OS Name, System Type, and Processor. This is useful when Settings shows a shortened processor name or when you want all three values in one window.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteStep 2: Identify the processor and installed RAM
Task Manager method
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+Escto open Task Manager. - Select the Performance tab. If the compact view is shown, choose More details first.
- Choose CPU and record the full model name displayed near the top of the panel.
- Choose Memory and record the total installed RAM. Windows may display a value slightly below the marketed kit capacity because some memory is reserved by the system; record the installed total and compare it with the 8 GB or 16 GB requirement.
For the minimum comparison, your processor should be at least the listed Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 entry. The recommended comparison uses the newer Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 entries. The official table does not provide a broad equivalency list for every older or newer CPU, so do not treat a model number alone as a guaranteed substitute. If your processor is below the named minimum tier, classify the PC as below the published minimum rather than assuming the GPU can compensate.

Confirming a CPU model elsewhere
In Settings > System > About, the processor line is usually sufficient. You can also use msinfo32 or the CPU page in Task Manager. Record the complete suffix as well: for example, an “F” suffix can distinguish a desktop processor variant from another model with a similar number.
Step 3: Identify the graphics card and VRAM
Task Manager method
- In Task Manager, open Performance and select each GPU entry in turn.
- Record the model name shown at the top. A laptop may show both an integrated GPU and a discrete GPU, so note which adapter is intended to run the game.
- Record Dedicated GPU memory or the equivalent VRAM figure. Do not confuse dedicated memory with shared system memory.
The minimum NVIDIA entry is specifically a GTX 1060 with 6 GB. A GTX 1060 variant with 3 GB does not match that stated VRAM requirement. The AMD entry is an RX 580 with 8 GB. The recommended entries are RTX 4060 and RX 7600; the listing does not state a VRAM number for either recommended model, so compare the exact model rather than inventing a capacity threshold.
Use DirectX Diagnostic Tool when the GPU is unclear
- Press
Win+R, typedxdiag, and press Enter. - Allow the tool to finish checking signed drivers if Windows asks.
- Open the Display or Render tab and record the device name and displayed display memory values.
- If more than one adapter tab appears, record each one and identify the discrete adapter used by your games.
Different utilities can label memory differently. When deciding whether the minimum line is met, use the dedicated VRAM figure and the exact adapter model; shared memory borrowed from system RAM is not the same as dedicated graphics memory.

Step 4: Check DirectX 12
- Open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool with
Win+R,dxdiag, and Enter. - On the System tab, read DirectX Version. It should report DirectX 12.
- On the display-related tab, check the adapter’s listed feature information and driver status. Install current graphics drivers from the GPU manufacturer if Windows reports a driver problem.
The requirement is DirectX 12. A computer can report a newer Windows version while still having a graphics adapter or driver that cannot provide the required graphics support, so check both the system-level DirectX entry and the adapter details. The listing also asks for a DirectX-compatible sound card with the latest drivers; ordinary modern Windows audio hardware generally appears under the sound section of dxdiag, where you can check for reported problems.

- Processor specifications: Adopting AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor, with a basic clock speed of 3.5GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.4GHz, it can achieve fast response computing performance
- Graphics Card: Features GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card with 6GB dedicated video memory for gaming and multimedia applications
- Memory configuration: Equipped with 32GB DDR4 RAM (16GB * 2), providing sufficient memory capacity for multitasking and demanding applications
- Gaming Performance: Designed to handle modern gaming titles and graphics-intensive tasks with smooth frame rates and visual quality
- Desktop System: Complete gaming desktop computer system ready for setup and use out of the box
Step 5: Check available storage
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Find the drive on which you plan to install DREADMOOR.
- Read the free-space figure shown below the drive or open the drive’s Properties for the exact number.
- Confirm that at least 60 GB is available before installation.
The 60 GB figure is the stated capacity requirement for both tiers. It is not a statement about download size, patch size, or long-term free-space needs. Keeping additional room is practical because an installation or update can require temporary working space, but the official listing does not specify an extra amount. An internal SSD can improve general loading responsiveness, yet an SSD is not explicitly required by the published specification.
Compare your results field by field
Use a worksheet like this rather than deciding from one component. A PC meets the published minimum only when every applicable field reaches the minimum row.
| Check | Your value | Minimum test | Recommended test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows and architecture | Record edition and 64-bit status | Windows 10 or newer; 64-bit | Windows 10 or newer; 64-bit |
| CPU | Record exact model | Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 | Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600 |
| System RAM | Record installed total | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| GPU and VRAM | Record exact model and dedicated VRAM | GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB | RTX 4060 or RX 7600 |
| DirectX | Record dxdiag result | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Free storage | Record target drive’s free space | At least 60 GB | At least 60 GB |
| Sound | Check dxdiag for device or driver errors | DirectX-compatible sound card and latest drivers | DirectX-compatible sound card and latest drivers |
How to classify the result
- Meets minimum: every requirement matches or exceeds the minimum row. This means your PC matches the publisher’s stated minimum tier, not that a particular FPS or image quality is guaranteed.
- Between minimum and recommended: the PC clears the minimum but falls short of one or more recommended entries. It is still in the supported minimum category according to the table; the listing simply gives no performance prediction for the gap.
- Meets recommended: every listed recommended field is satisfied, including the CPU, GPU model, 16 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, and 60 GB of free space.
- Below minimum: at least one field fails. Identify that field before buying or upgrading; a strong component in another category does not erase a failed minimum requirement.
Will a GTX 1060 run DREADMOOR?
A GTX 1060 with 6 GB matches the NVIDIA model and VRAM named in the official minimum row. A GTX 1060 with 3 GB does not match the stated 6 GB minimum. Even a qualifying 6 GB card is only a minimum-tier match: the publisher does not state a target resolution, graphics preset, or frame rate for it.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

What to upgrade when a PC falls short
Graphics card
If the GPU is the only failing field, the clearest direct move toward the recommended tier is a GeForce RTX 4060 or Radeon RX 7600, the two models named by the publisher. Before replacing a card, verify power-supply capacity, available case space, connector requirements, and whether your monitor connection is compatible. Those physical checks are general installation prerequisites; DREADMOOR’s listing does not specify a power supply or case requirement.
Memory
Moving from 8 GB toward 16 GB reaches the recommended memory capacity. Confirm the motherboard’s supported memory type, available slots, and whether an existing module must be matched or replaced. Adding RAM does not upgrade a below-minimum CPU or GPU.
Processor
If the CPU is below the Core i5-8400/Ryzen 5 2600 minimum comparison, the PC is below the published minimum even if its graphics card is strong. The recommended comparison is Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600. A processor upgrade can require a compatible motherboard, memory generation, cooler, and BIOS support, so treat it as a platform upgrade rather than assuming a drop-in replacement.

Troubleshooting a result that looks wrong
Windows shows less RAM than expected
Check the total in Task Manager’s Memory panel and compare it with the installed modules and the system’s reserved memory. If the installed total is below 8 GB, the minimum is not met. If a 16 GB kit appears slightly lower because some memory is reserved, use the installed total and investigate hardware or firmware issues before assuming the game requirement is the cause.
The wrong GPU appears in the check
Notebook systems often list an integrated adapter and a discrete adapter. Record both, then use Windows graphics settings or the game’s launcher settings to select the intended high-performance adapter when available. If the discrete adapter is disabled, missing, or reporting a driver error, update or reinstall its driver and repeat the check.
DirectX reports an error
Run dxdiag again after installing current graphics and audio drivers. Note any messages in the tool’s Notes area. A DirectX 12 line alone does not repair a faulty device driver; resolve the reported driver or hardware problem before treating the PC as compliant.
There is exactly 60 GB free
That reaches the stated capacity number, but leave additional room if possible for installation staging and future updates. The listing does not publish a separate update-space allowance, so no larger official number can be substituted for the 60 GB figure.
Development status and why you should recheck
The Steam Community page reports additional optimization work for the demo and repeats the same minimum and recommended tiers. It identifies Windows as the platform and says Early Access is coming on November 9, without specifying a year in the captured text. Because DREADMOOR is in development, requirements and optimization may change. Recheck the live Steam listing close to purchase or launch, especially if your PC is close to the minimum or the hardware and operating-system details have changed.
Bottom line
Run the six checks—64-bit Windows 10 or newer, CPU, GPU and dedicated VRAM, RAM, DirectX 12, and 60 GB of free storage—and compare every field with the official table. A GTX 1060 must be the 6 GB version, and an RX 580 must have 8 GB to match the named minimum entries. The recommended target is a Core i5-12400F/Ryzen 5 5600, RTX 4060/RX 7600, and 16 GB of RAM. Treat either tier as a specification comparison, not a promised frame-rate result.
