Use Google Search Console’s URL Inspection tool to check a specific page’s reported index status, then run a live test to see whether Google can access and render its current version. These checks answer different questions: a live test or crawl request does not prove that Google has indexed the page, and indexing does not guarantee that it will appear for every search.
Check one page with URL Inspection

Open Google Search Console and select the property that covers the page you want to check.

Enter the page’s full URL in the URL Inspection tool. Start with the indexed-status result: it reports what Google currently knows about that URL’s indexing state.

Run the live URL test to check whether Google can access the page as it is now. Review the page information and any loaded-resource details for access or rendering problems.

If the tool offers a request option, use it after you have corrected any problems. A request is not a guarantee of an immediate crawl or indexing.
The indexed-status result and the live test are not interchangeable. The former reports Google’s recorded status; the latter tests the current version at that time. For a page’s historical request activity, server logs can provide URL-specific evidence, provided Googlebot requests are correctly verified. Google Search Console documentation
Understand what the status means
Google has not crawled or discovered the URL
If the URL is unknown or has not been crawled, check whether Google can discover it through crawlable internal links or a sitemap. Also check for a robots.txt block, a failed response, or host availability problems. A sitemap can help Google discover URLs, but submitting one does not command Google to crawl or index them. Google crawled the page but did not index it
Crawling means Google fetched the page; indexing is a separate decision. Review noindex directives, canonical or duplicate-page handling, page content, rendering, and response behavior. Google can crawl a page without choosing to include it in the index.

Indexed does not mean ranked or shown for every query. Results depend on the query and other serving considerations, so an indexed page may not appear for a particular search. Google’s crawling and indexing overview
Use site-wide reports for patterns
Page Indexing report
Use the Page Indexing report in Search Console to see indexing information across groups of URLs and investigate patterns behind reported states.

Crawl Stats report
Use Crawl Stats to review Googlebot crawl activity and host availability signals. If many URLs are affected or crawling appears slow, check these reports alongside server responses and availability. Google may reduce crawling when a host has trouble responding. A report’s scope matters: a URL’s absence from a report alone does not prove that it was never crawled. Check whether Google can crawl and index the page
Separate robots.txt from noindex
Check robots.txt for rules that unintentionally prevent Googlebot from fetching the page. Robots.txt controls crawling; it is not a reliable way to keep a URL out of Google’s index. A blocked URL may remain known to Google even when its contents cannot be crawled. Google’s robots.txt guidance

Check links, sitemap, and availability

Make sure the intended page has crawlable links from other pages on your site.

Check that your sitemap lists the complete, absolute URLs you want considered for Search. A sitemap is a discovery hint, not an indexing guarantee. Google’s sitemap guidance

Check the page’s response and whether the host is available to Googlebot. Server trouble can affect crawling across many URLs.

For JavaScript-dependent content, inspect rendered content and loaded resources in URL Inspection or the Rich Results Test. Check what Google can render, not only the initial source HTML. Google’s JavaScript SEO basics
Troubleshoot the result you see

Request another crawl after fixing problems
Once you have fixed an access, directive, rendering, or response issue, use the URL Inspection request option if it is available for that URL. Google does not guarantee that a technically accessible page will be crawled, indexed, or served in results, and a request does not guarantee a particular timing or outcome.
