If you mean Azyrath Studios’ SEEDFALL—the game referred to in some searches as “Where the Seeds Fall”—you can remap a controller from Settings > CONTROLS > CONTROLLER. Select an action, press the new button, and the game swaps assignments when that button is already in use. The same settings area provides a DEFAULTS reset. Subtitles are an accessibility option, and the opening film now follows the Subtitles setting. A separate Reduce Flashing option steadies several flashing effects, although the published update notes do not identify its exact menu path.

First, identify the game and update notes

The official material for this guide calls the game SEEDFALL, developed by Azyrath Studios. The question wording “Where the Seeds Fall” may refer to the same title. The documented behavior comes from the developer’s version 1.0.13 and 1.0.15 updates, both published on 2026-10-03. Menu labels can change in later builds, so use the labels shown in your installed version when they differ.

Version 1.0.13 documents the controls menu and remapping behavior. Version 1.0.15 adds the whole-game controller layout and confirms that the opening film obeys the Subtitles setting. Those notes establish what the game supports, but they do not list a tested controller brand or give a complete path to every accessibility toggle.

How to change subtitles

What the Subtitles setting controls

SEEDFALL is listed with Accessibility | Subtitles. The 1.0.15 update specifically says, “The opening film’s words now follow the Subtitles setting.” In practical terms, changing Subtitles affects the text shown for the opening film rather than leaving that sequence outside the setting.

The published notes do not state the exact menu path for the Subtitles control. They also do not confirm separate settings for dialogue, cinematics, environmental sounds, speaker names, size, background opacity, or language. Do not assume those additional controls exist unless your installed build displays them.

Finding the option in your build

  1. Pause the game or open its main menu.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Look for the section containing accessibility or display options.
  4. Locate Subtitles and switch it on or off.
  5. Start or replay the opening film to verify the change. Its words should now follow the selected setting.

If you cannot find a Subtitles entry, check every Settings page rather than changing controller bindings. The official notes confirm that the setting exists, but they do not publish a universal location or indicate whether the location differs between platforms.

How to reduce flashing effects

What Reduce Flashing changes

The accessibility update documents a Reduce Flashing option. When it is enabled, the following effects hold steady instead of continuously flashing:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Aircraft strobes
  • Crane lights
  • Tower lights
  • The Maw’s mouth

This is a targeted behavior description, not a promise that every bright transition or animation in the game is removed. The notes do not publish a percentage reduction, a complete list of affected effects, or a separate warning mode.

Where to look for the toggle

The update notes do not give the exact menu location for Reduce Flashing. Open Settings and inspect the accessibility, display, video, and graphics pages in your build. If the game uses a category named differently from “Accessibility,” look for the control by its exact label, Reduce Flashing.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

After enabling it, view an area containing aircraft strobes, crane or tower lights, or the Maw. Those named effects should remain steady. If another light still animates, that does not by itself indicate that the setting failed; the developer only identifies the four behaviors above.

How to remap controller buttons

Exact menu path

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose CONTROLS.
  3. Use the CONTROLLER half of the screen. The other half is labeled KEYBOARD.
  4. Select the action you want to change.
  5. Press the controller button you want to assign to that action.
  6. Leave the menu after checking the displayed assignments, then test the changed action in play.

The developer describes the process as: “Settings > CONTROLS has two halves: KEYBOARD and CONTROLLER.” The menu is therefore not a generic platform controller screen; choose the in-game CONTROLLER side before selecting an action.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What happens when a button is already used

SEEDFALL uses a swap rather than silently creating a duplicate assignment. If the button you press is assigned to another action, the two actions exchange buttons. For example, assigning the button currently used by Action B to Action A moves Action A to that button and moves Action B to Action A’s former button. Review both rows after every reassignment.

This behavior lets you reorganize the layout without first clearing a button. It also means a change can affect a second action even when you selected only one row, so verify the neighboring assignment before closing Settings.

Restore the original layout

Choose DEFAULTS in the CONTROLLER section to put the controller bindings back to their defaults. Use this when a swap produces an unexpected layout or when you want to troubleshoot whether a problem comes from remapping. Resetting defaults is separate from changing a single action; it returns the controller configuration to the game’s standard arrangement.

Can you play the whole game with a controller?

Yes. The 1.0.13 update says, “Plug in a controller and play the whole game with it, every screen included.” Version 1.0.15 repeats that controller play covers every screen and documents the main layout. This includes menus and other screens, not only movement during active play.

The game-side support does not name specific controller brands or models. Your computer or console must recognize the device, and the game must receive its button input. If the controller is not detected by the platform, in-game remapping cannot correct that hardware or operating-system issue.

Controller layout documented in version 1.0.15

The following functions are the layout described in the 1.0.15 notes. A bottom bar shows what each button does at the current moment, so context-sensitive prompts can take priority over the general layout.

Control Documented function How to use it
Left stick Turns the planet Move the stick to rotate the planet during navigation or planet-view interactions.
Right stick Makes finer turns Use it for more precise rotational adjustments.
Triggers Zoom Press the trigger controls to zoom the view.
A Confirms context actions Use it when the current screen offers an action prompt.
B Goes back Returns to the previous menu or screen where a back action is available.
VIEW Pauses Opens the pause state during play.
MENU Opens the menu Use it to reach menu controls while playing.
X Opens EVOLVE Jumps to the EVOLVE screen.
Y Opens THE WORLD Jumps to THE WORLD screen.

The bottom prompt bar is important after remapping: it reports the button expected for the current context, while the table above describes the documented default functions. If your custom layout differs, follow the on-screen prompt and the assignment shown in CONTROLLER.

Choosing keyboard or controller input

SEEDFALL presents KEYBOARD and CONTROLLER as separate halves of the CONTROLS screen. The choice is not permanent; it is a way to edit the bindings for the input method you are using. Use the comparison below to decide which setup to configure.

Question Controller Keyboard
Where are bindings edited? Settings > CONTROLS > CONTROLLER Settings > CONTROLS > KEYBOARD
Remapping behavior documented in the notes Select an action and press a new button; an occupied button swaps assignments The cited notes do not describe the keyboard remapping interaction
Menu access Supported on every screen according to version 1.0.15 A separate keyboard half is provided, but the cited notes do not detail its complete screen-by-screen behavior
Planet turning Left stick turns; right stick makes finer turns No keyboard turning behavior is specified in the cited notes
Zoom and navigation Triggers zoom; A confirms; B goes back Not specified in the cited notes
Device requirement The platform must recognize the connected controller Uses the platform keyboard; no additional controller is needed

The table separates confirmed game behavior from details that the published notes do not establish. In particular, do not infer a keyboard equivalent for every controller action without checking the KEYBOARD half in your installation.

Planet turn speed and precision

PLANET TURN SPEED controls how quickly the stick turns the planet. It is a controller setting, not a general camera sensitivity statement. Lower it if the planet rotates too quickly for precise positioning; raise it if the stick feels sluggish. Because the notes do not publish a numeric scale or recommended value, adjust it incrementally and judge the response in the planet view.

The right stick is separately described as providing finer turns. That gives you two ways to improve control: change PLANET TURN SPEED for the overall response, then use the right stick when you need a smaller adjustment.

Troubleshooting controller settings

The CONTROLLER half is not responding

  • Confirm the operating system or console sees the controller before launching or returning to the game.
  • Reconnect the device, then reopen Settings > CONTROLS > CONTROLLER.
  • Press a button while an action is selected. The documented workflow requires selecting the action first.
  • If the wrong action changes, check whether the button was already assigned elsewhere; the game swaps occupied assignments.
  • Use DEFAULTS, then test the default layout before attempting a second remap.

A remap changed another action

That is the documented swap behavior, not necessarily an error. Reopen the CONTROLLER half and inspect both actions involved. Assign the buttons again in the order you want, or choose DEFAULTS and start over.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The controller works in play but not in a menu

Version 1.0.15 documents controller coverage for every screen. Check the bottom prompt bar for the current button, because context actions can change what a button does. If no input is recognized anywhere, troubleshoot platform detection and the connection before changing in-game bindings.

Subtitles do not appear in the opening film

  • Verify that Subtitles is enabled in Settings.
  • Exit and replay the opening film so the setting is applied to the sequence.
  • Confirm that you are running a build containing the 1.0.15 update or a later version.
  • If the toggle is missing, inspect the full Settings menu; the published notes confirm the feature but not its exact location.

Flashing effects remain

Confirm that Reduce Flashing is enabled, then check one of the specifically documented effects: aircraft strobes, crane lights, tower lights, or the Maw’s mouth. The update does not claim that every light or visual transition is affected, so an unchanged effect outside that list is not evidence that the option is broken.

Recommended setup sequence

For a first-time configuration, use this order so you can isolate accessibility and input changes:

  1. Connect the controller and confirm that the platform recognizes it.
  2. Open Settings and locate the Subtitles and Reduce Flashing options in the available accessibility or display pages.
  3. Enable Subtitles if you want text during the opening film.
  4. Enable Reduce Flashing if steady versions of the documented strobes and lights are preferable.
  5. Open Settings > CONTROLS > CONTROLLER.
  6. Set PLANET TURN SPEED while watching how quickly the left stick turns the planet.
  7. Remap only the actions you need, checking for swaps after each assignment.
  8. Use the bottom prompt bar and test A, B, VIEW, MENU, X, Y, triggers, and both sticks on the relevant screens.
  9. If the layout becomes confusing, choose DEFAULTS and repeat the changes one at a time.

This sequence keeps the documented accessibility changes separate from controller-binding changes and gives you a clear recovery point.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What the official notes do not establish

The available update notes are specific about controller remapping, controller coverage, subtitles in the opening film, and the named Reduce Flashing effects. They do not establish:

  • A universal menu path for Subtitles or Reduce Flashing
  • Separate subtitle categories, font controls, size controls, or language options
  • A complete list of visual effects affected by Reduce Flashing
  • Specific controller brands, models, wireless adapters, or platform compatibility
  • Numeric values for PLANET TURN SPEED
  • The keyboard remapping procedure or a full keyboard layout

Use the labels and prompts in your installed version for those details rather than assuming that an option documented for one build has identical placement or scope in every release.

Bottom line

For SEEDFALL, controller remapping is the clearest documented procedure: Settings > CONTROLS > CONTROLLER, select an action, press the desired button, and remember that occupied buttons swap. DEFAULTS restores the original bindings. Controller play covers every screen, with left-stick turning, right-stick fine turns, trigger zoom, and dedicated menu buttons documented in version 1.0.15. Subtitles are an accessibility feature and now apply to the opening film; Reduce Flashing steadies aircraft strobes, crane and tower lights, and the Maw’s mouth. The update notes confirm both features but do not publish their exact menu paths, so locate those toggles in the Settings pages of your installed build.
