How to choose or adjust difficulty
The PlayStation Store describes “Adjustable Difficulty (Advanced)” and says you can customize challenge or activate individual assists. That means difficulty need not be an all-or-nothing choice: if a particular part of combat is difficult, consider an applicable assist as well as changing the overall challenge.

An independent 2025 review by Access-Ability reports five presets—Casual, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Lethal—alongside a custom difficulty option. These names are reviewer-reported; check the current in-game menu for the options available in your version. Official sources reviewed do not establish exactly when difficulty can be changed, whether it can be altered during every encounter, or whether a choice becomes locked after starting.
Match combat assists to the problem
- Aim Assist: automatically targets nearby enemies to improve ranged weapon accuracy.
- Enhanced Combat Cues: enlarges glint attack visuals to make parrying and dodging cues easier to see.
- Projectile Indicator: flags ranged attacks coming from offscreen.
These options support different parts of combat; choose the one that addresses the obstacle rather than assuming one setting covers all of them. PlayStation lists their functions in its accessibility guide.

How to simplify button prompts and interactions
The game’s simplified controls target particular interactions. They are not a global remapping of every control.

How to make subtitles and text easier to read
PlayStation lists these subtitle and text options:
- Large Text: turn larger text on or off.
- Subtitle Backdrop: turn a backdrop behind subtitles on or off.
- Speaker Names: show or hide speaker names in subtitles.
- Subtitle Text Colors: choose White, Yellow, Blue, Red, or Green.
The Store’s feature summary describes clear and large subtitles, but caveats that subtitles cover the main story and main characters only. It also lists individual volume controls, 3D audio, color alternatives, and visual-comfort features. These are separate from the subtitle text options, so check the game’s current settings for the adjustment that best addresses your need. How to improve orientation and reduce motion discomfort
Several options address navigation or camera awareness rather than combat difficulty:

- Enhanced Wind Visibility: increases the visibility of the Guiding Wind.
- Wind Gust Camera: automatically moves the camera toward the Guiding Wind.
- Offscreen Detection Indicator: choose None, Minimal, Default, or Default With HUD indicators.
- Persistent Centre Dot: choose Off, Small, Medium, or Large. PlayStation describes it as an option that can help reduce motion sickness.
If the issue is missing a navigation cue, enhanced wind visibility is the direct option; if you want the camera to turn toward that cue, consider Wind Gust Camera. Offscreen indicators address objects or threats outside the visible frame, while the centre dot is a separate visual-comfort choice. How to change high-contrast accessibility settings
Patch v2.0 adds a high-contrast accessibility option. Sucker Punch Senior Communications Manager Andrew Goldfarb announced that the patch was scheduled for October 1, 2026 globally, and October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Because availability depends on territory and rollout, install the latest game update and check the current accessibility settings if the option is not visible. In the August 12, 2026 PlayStation Blog announcement, updated August 14, Goldfarb wrote: “There will also be new quality of life features including the option to keep an armor set’s appearance while using a different set’s stats, as well as a new high contrast accessibility option.” Read the announcement on PlayStation.Blog.

Other useful settings and features
The PlayStation Store feature summary also lists control and tutorial reminders, a practice mode, the ability to pause during gameplay or cinematics in offline play, and manual saving.
