The best time to hunt is the event’s daily evening boost, when shooting stars appear in the game sky and encounters are more likely. Minior has seven possible core colors—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—but the official announcement does not publish a permanent color-to-shower chart. When and where Minior appears
Minior is a wild encounter during the published annual Minior Showers. The daily encounter boost
From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time every day of an active Minior Shower, the in-game sky is lit by shooting stars and the chance of encountering Minior is increased. This is a higher chance, not a guaranteed spawn or a published percentage. Outside that four-hour period, Minior can still be available during the event window, but the announcement does not promise the same encounter rate.
A practical routine is to open Pokémon GO shortly before 5:00 p.m., make sure your item bag has enough Poké Balls, and walk through places where you can see active wild spawns and PokéStops. The visual shooting-star effect is a useful reminder that the boost is active, but it is not a guarantee that a Minior will appear at your exact location. Refresh the map as you move and tap every Minior you find.
The official event information does not say that a particular biome, lure, Incense, Poké Ball, berry, weather condition, or throwing technique selects a core color. Those tools may help you encounter or catch more Pokémon generally, but they are not documented color controls.
How to catch Minior during a shower
- Confirm the event is active in your local time. Use the table above as a planning guide, then verify the current event notice because annual details can be revised.
- Prepare before the boost. Charge your phone, clear storage if necessary, and carry enough Poké Balls and healing items for a walk. These steps improve your session but do not alter Minior’s color odds.
- Play during the shooting-star period. The four-hour evening boost is the clearest opportunity to increase the number of Minior encounters you see. If you cannot play then, continue checking during the rest of the listed event dates.
- Move through an area with active spawns and PokéStops. Keep the map open, refresh your surroundings as you walk, and tap every Minior rather than assuming its shell shows a particular color.
- Enter the encounter and catch it normally. Wild Minior is presented in Meteor Form. Use your normal catch technique and available resources; no special throw is documented as a color trigger.
- Check the form after the catch. Open the newly caught Minior in your Pokémon storage and inspect its form information, or check the Minior entry in the Pokédex. Record the core color immediately so duplicate catches do not make your checklist unreliable.
- Repeat across the rotating showers. A single event is not guaranteed to provide all seven colors. Continue playing the published windows and read the event notice for any regional debut information.
What the encounter does not do
- The overworld shell does not identify the core color.
- Catching Minior does not make the shell break in the capture screen.
- The event notice does not establish a color-selection effect for a lure, Incense, habitat, weather condition, berry, or throw type.

Finding all seven Minior core colors

The event announcement says that different core colors debut during different meteor showers. It also notes Northern and Southern Hemisphere differences for some events; the Geminids, Southern Delta Aquariids, and related event notices can therefore offer different debut information by hemisphere. However, the announcement does not provide a complete, permanent table matching every color to every shower and region.
A reliable collection strategy
- Start a seven-color checklist. Use the seven names above and mark a color only after the caught Pokémon’s form or Pokédex registration confirms it.
- Play every published shower you can. Because the color rotation is not fully mapped in the announcement, skipping one window can mean missing a regional debut.
- Read each new event notice. When an announcement identifies a debut color and hemisphere, use that information to prioritize the relevant dates. Do not treat a color reported for one hemisphere as a worldwide guarantee.
- Keep duplicate catches until you verify the form. The map appearance is always Meteor Form, so two identical-looking encounters can register different core colors.
- Review the Pokédex after each event. This catches an overlooked color even if you transferred a duplicate from your storage.
- Record the date and region of unusual catches. A simple note such as “Perseids, Northern Hemisphere” helps distinguish a confirmed regional debut from a remembered rumor and makes future trading or account checks easier.
Why six listed showers can yield seven colors
There are six named shower windows in the published schedule but seven core colors. The event format can assign different debut colors to the Northern and Southern Hemispheres during some showers. That regional split is why the number of colors does not imply a simple one-color-per-window worldwide sequence. Only a later official notice can establish which color is active for a particular shower and region.

How Minior’s Meteor Form and core form work
Minior’s shell-breaking behavior is primarily a battle mechanic, not a step in the wild capture animation. The official Pokémon GO wording says: “Minior will battle in its Meteor Form until its health is reduced to below 50%, when it will change its form and expose its core.”

The initial event wording limits this advertised change to battles against Team GO Rocket, team leaders, or in GO Battle League. In other words, catching Minior is how you obtain it; the shell-break trigger is demonstrated in those battle contexts. Do not expect a wild Minior to expose its core simply because you threw a ball at it.

Those descriptions provide context, but they do not add a separate catching method or a different color-selection rule.
The Pokédex explanation
The species description supplies additional context: Minior’s core color is determined by the composition of dust it eats, and when its HP drops to half or less, its shell breaks and it becomes aggressive. That is species background. For Pokémon GO play, follow the event’s explicit battle wording—below 50% health—and the battle modes it names.
How to verify a color after catching Minior
Because every map encounter uses Meteor Form, identification happens after the catch. Open your Pokémon list, select Minior, and look for the form or core designation shown with its summary. You can also open Minior in the Pokédex and compare the registered forms. The exact arrangement of form controls can change with the app interface, but the principle is constant: rely on the registered caught form, not the shell image on the map.

If you see several Minior with the same shell appearance, that is expected. Compare their form labels individually before transferring duplicates. A seven-color collection requires seven confirmed registrations, not seven catches that merely looked different during the encounter. If a form label is unclear, leave the catch unmarked and check the Pokédex again rather than guessing from its sprite.

Troubleshooting a Minior hunt
No Minior appears
- Check that today falls inside one of the published shower windows.
- Confirm your device’s local time and location settings; the schedule is local-time based.
- If you are outside the 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. boost, wait for the evening period or continue checking during the wider event window.
- Walk through an area with active spawns and PokéStops instead of staying in a location with no visible activity.
- Close and reopen the map if the event has just started and the sky or event spawns have not refreshed.
- Check for an app update or a temporary service issue if other wild Pokémon are also failing to load.
The sky has no shooting stars
The visual effect is tied to the daily evening boost, not to every minute of the event dates. If the local clock is outside that period, the absence of shooting stars does not by itself prove that the shower has ended. If the effect is missing during the stated hours, check the current event notice and refresh the app.
I caught Minior, but it did not expose a core
That is normal for a wild catch. Minior is encountered in Meteor Form, and the published form change occurs when its health falls below 50% in the specified battles. The capture itself is not the shell-breaking trigger.
I cannot tell which color I caught
Open the caught Pokémon’s summary or the Minior Pokédex entry and inspect the registered form. The overworld shell is not a color indicator. If the interface does not make the form obvious, compare the entry with the seven named core forms and record the color only after the registration is clear.
I played one shower and still lack colors
There is no published guarantee that a single shower supplies every color, and no official odds are given. Continue through the rotation. A regional debut can also differ between hemispheres, so a color unavailable in one event notice may appear in a later notice for your region.

Annual event details can change. Treat the schedule as the published recurring pattern, not an immutable promise, and use the latest in-game news or official announcement for the active year.

Pokémon GO Plus + is an optional Bluetooth accessory. Official support information describes it, along with Poké Ball Plus and Pokémon GO Plus, as a device that can alert players to nearby Pokémon, attempt catches, and spin PokéStops. Nintendo’s support information also says Pokémon GO Plus + charges from a compatible USB power source.
It can reduce the need to keep your phone in your hand during a long walk, but it does not create Minior encounters, increase the spawn rate, select a core color, or guarantee a missing form. When a catch would add a new Pokédex registration, open the app and inspect it manually. The accessory is therefore a convenience for encounter volume, not a collection shortcut.
Check current regional compatibility, supported phone requirements, charging equipment, and availability before buying because those conditions can change. If you use automated catch attempts, monitor your Poké Ball supply; running out of usable balls can stop attempts even while the device remains connected.
