Why Hindi text can look different in a screenshot
A screenshot records what the rendering browser displays at capture time. If the intended webfont cannot be fetched, does not include the needed glyphs, or has not loaded yet, the browser may use a fallback face. That can change the appearance or positioning of Devanagari text.
Cloudflare documents this fallback behavior for its managed Chromium service: when a specified font is not installed, Chromium falls back to a similar supported font. Diagnose the Hindi website screenshot font problem
1. Compare the same text on the page and in the image
Use a passage from the actual page, including the vowel signs and conjuncts that appear there. Check for missing-glyph boxes, unexpected Latin-style fallback, altered spacing, or an entirely different face. Compare at the same viewport and language variant where possible.

2. Check the chosen family, weight, and script coverage
Inspect the page’s computed font family and the styles that apply to the affected text. Confirm that the selected family covers the Devanagari characters in the passage and that the requested weight and style are available. 3. Verify that stylesheets and font files load
Use the browser’s network panel on the live page to look for failed stylesheet or font requests. Check whether the target page’s CSS requests the family and weight you expect, and whether access rules such as cross-origin restrictions or content security policies prevent retrieval. These are general browser troubleshooting checks, not Screenshotlayer-specific guarantees.

4. Test capture timing rather than assuming it
Screenshotlayer’s product page says its engine renders webfonts and advertises a configurable capture delay and custom CSS supplied as a stylesheet URL. You can test different delays and compare the resulting image, but the available product information does not say that the delay waits for document.fonts.ready or otherwise confirms that a particular font has loaded. 5. Validate the hosted capture itself
Test the exact deployed URL, viewport, language version and capture settings. A font that works locally may still fail in a hosted renderer if its stylesheet or font host is inaccessible there, or if capture occurs at a different point in the page’s loading process.

If you control the website, fixing its own font declaration and delivery is the clearest route to consistent rendering. For capture-time injection, use only syntax documented by the service you are using; do not assume that another provider’s method or parameter works with Screenshotlayer.
Troubleshooting: Hindi text showing the wrong font
- Only some characters are wrong: Check whether the selected family covers those Devanagari characters and whether a subset font file is being requested.
- The whole passage uses a different face: Check the computed font family and confirm that its stylesheet and font file requests succeed in the capture context.
- The live page is correct but the screenshot is not: Test the exact hosted URL and settings, then vary Screenshotlayer’s advertised delay and compare images. A delay is not documented as a font-ready guarantee.
- A capture stylesheet has no visible effect: Confirm the stylesheet URL and CSS behavior against Screenshotlayer’s current documentation or support. Its product page mentions a stylesheet URL but does not establish detailed font-injection syntax.
