To capture a Hindi webpage with PagePeeker, request the exact Hindi page URL, choose the capture size or full-page settings your account supports, and inspect the returned image for correctly rendered Devanagari text. PagePeeker’s reviewed documentation does not describe a Hindi-specific language setting or font-loading control, so no setting can be promised to fix incorrect Hindi rendering.
Capture the Hindi page you actually want
- Start with the intended Hindi URL. If the site has a Hindi-specific URL, use it. If language depends on a page control or user session, establish the Hindi state first; PagePeeker’s reviewed information does not specify a universal way to select Hindi.
- Choose a capture mode. Use a regular thumbnail or viewport capture when you need a particular visible area. PagePeeker says full-page screenshots are available to premium account holders; confirm the options enabled for your account. - Open and review the generated image. Check representative Hindi text rather than assuming that a returned image is correct.
What to check in the screenshot
Hindi is written in Devanagari. Inspect for missing characters, visibly separated or broken consonant clusters, and vowel signs that are absent or misplaced. These are useful visual checks because Devanagari text presentation includes conjuncts and vowel signs that combine with consonants. The W3C’s Devanagari Layout Requirements is a Group Draft Note dated 09 July 2024, focused on Hindi and Marathi; it is work in progress, not a certification of PagePeeker or a binding guarantee of how a particular screenshot will render.
What PagePeeker’s controls can—and cannot—do
PagePeeker describes capture sizing and cropping, and its full-page documentation lists width and maximum-height controls, compression, thumbnail sizing, overlay text, and wait customization. Availability depends on the account and service configuration, so check which controls are currently available to you. A wait setting may allow a page more time to load, but PagePeeker’s documentation does not promise that waiting will correct a language or font-rendering problem.
The reviewed PagePeeker material does not establish a Hindi-specific request-language option, a locale selector, or a font-loading control. Another provider documents an accept_language parameter, but that is not evidence that PagePeeker offers the same option, nor that an Accept-Language header alone guarantees properly shaped Devanagari text. Troubleshoot an incorrect Hindi screenshot
- The page is in the wrong language: Open the source page yourself and confirm it presents the intended Hindi content. Use the Hindi URL or establish the page state before requesting the capture.
- Text or glyphs are missing: Compare the screenshot with the live page. If the live page also lacks the characters, the issue is upstream of the screenshot. If the live page looks correct, PagePeeker’s reviewed documentation does not identify a Hindi-specific setting that guarantees a fix.
- Conjuncts or vowel signs look wrong: Inspect the image at its delivered size and at a larger display scale if available. Check another representative text area to distinguish a local visual issue from a page-wide one.
- The screenshot shows incomplete page content: Confirm the source page has finished loading, then check whether the account’s available wait controls or capture dimensions fit the page. A longer wait is not a guaranteed rendering correction.
- You need the entire page: Confirm full-page capture is enabled for your account and review the configured width and maximum height. PagePeeker describes this as premium functionality, not a feature established for every account.
Account usage and cached thumbnails
PagePeeker’s FAQ distinguishes creating a thumbnail from later use: “A render is the actual creation of a thumbnail image.” It says the created image is cached on PagePeeker’s servers for several days, and that displaying an existing thumbnail, requesting an uncached render, checking readiness, and other exposed API calls count toward API-call usage. The FAQ also says monthly quota does not roll over and describes pay-as-you-go for premium accounts exceeding five million API calls per month, subject to contacting PagePeeker. These account and quota terms can change; check the current FAQ and your account details before forecasting recurring usage.
