Use your phone’s normal screenshot shortcut, then choose the platform’s scrolling option. On an iPhone, tap Full Page in the screenshot preview (most reliably for webpages in Safari). On Android 12 and later, tap Capture more after pressing Power and Volume Down on a scrollable screen. Samsung Galaxy models may label the equivalent control Scroll capture.
The exact button and whether it appears depend on the operating-system version, app, screen and phone model. The steps below use official Apple, Google and Samsung instructions and explain what to do when the control is missing.
iPhone: capture an entire webpage or document
Apple calls the extended capture a full-page screenshot. Its documented example is a webpage in Safari, where the result can be saved as an image in Photos or as a PDF in Files. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot guide.
- Open the page or document you want to save. For a long webpage, open it in Safari.
- Take a normal screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the Side and Volume Up buttons together. On an iPhone with a Home button, press Side and Home together.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail or preview that appears in the lower-left corner.
- At the top of the editor, tap Full Page. The preview expands beyond the visible screen.
- Use the crop controls or the page preview to keep only the content you need.
- Choose the save action. Apple documents saving a full-page capture to Photos as an image or to Files as a PDF, depending on the available option and app.
If “Full Page” does not appear on iPhone
- Try the page in Safari, which is Apple’s documented full-page example.
- Confirm that you opened the screenshot preview; the option is not part of the initial button shortcut.
- Some apps and screens expose only a regular screenshot. iOS does not promise a full-page control in every app.
- If physical buttons are difficult to use, Apple also documents Siri, AssistiveTouch and Back Tap as alternate ways to start a screenshot. These alternatives change how the screenshot starts, not which apps support full-page capture.
Android 12 and later: use Capture more
Google’s Android Help says the scrolling workflow works on Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. It is not guaranteed for every app or device. The official sequence is documented at Android Help.

Google Pixel phones
Pixel’s documented flow is the same: press Power + Volume Down, then tap Capture more. Google’s Pixel instructions are at Pixel Phone Help. The Android 12-and-later and “most scrollable screens” limitations still apply.
Samsung Galaxy: Scroll capture
Samsung uses its own screenshot toolbar on some Galaxy models. The S23-series manual calls the feature Scroll capture, which captures the current view and hidden content on a long page such as a webpage. That manual is model-family-specific, so do not assume the same label or placement on every Galaxy phone: Samsung S23 series manual (PDF).
- Open the long page.
- Press Power + Volume Down to take a screenshot.
- In the screenshot toolbar, tap Scroll capture (or the equivalent scrolling icon).
- Continue extending the capture until the required content is included, then save it.
Why the long-screenshot button can be missing
A full-page screenshot is an extension of the ordinary screenshot, not a separate camera mode. The control may be absent for several legitimate reasons:

- The screen is not scrollable. A static image, home screen or some custom view has no additional content for the phone to extend.
- The app blocks or does not expose scrolling capture. Android documents the feature for most scrollable screens, not every screen.
- Your Android version or manufacturer software differs. Android’s generic label may be replaced by a vendor-specific control, while older releases may not include the documented option.
- You are looking at the wrong toolbar. Take the screenshot first, then inspect its preview and controls; the scrolling command normally appears there.
- The model has a different gesture. Consult the current manual or support page for the exact phone model rather than applying another manufacturer’s sequence.
How to get a cleaner, usable capture
Start at a predictable position
Scroll to the top of the article, receipt or conversation before starting. This makes the final image easier to read and avoids accidentally omitting the heading or first rows.
Check the extension before saving
Use the preview to inspect the bottom and edges. Crop out browser chrome, unrelated controls and blank space. Very long pages can produce a tall image that is difficult to open or share; a PDF or several shorter captures may be more practical for printing or messaging.
Expect dynamic content to vary
Pages that load content while scrolling, contain sticky headers, videos, advertisements or login-protected sections may not stitch perfectly. If text repeats or a section is missing, capture a smaller range, wait for the page to finish loading, or save the page through the app’s own export or print function when available.
Quick platform comparison
| Platform or example | Start screenshot | Extended-capture label | Documented scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone | Side + Volume Up, or Side + Home | Full Page | Apple documents webpages such as Safari pages; availability varies by app. |
| Android 12+ | Power + Volume Down | Capture more | Google says most scrollable screens, not every screen or device. |
| Google Pixel | Power + Volume Down | Capture more | Pixel follows Google’s Android flow, with the same Android 12+ caveat. |
| Samsung Galaxy S23 example | Power + Volume Down | Scroll capture | Described in the S23-series manual; other Galaxy models may differ. |
When a phone screenshot is the wrong tool
Native controls are best when you need a quick personal record of content on the phone. For repeatable documentation, automated website archives, or screenshots generated on a server, a browser-based API avoids manual scrolling and device-specific labels.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It removes cookie-consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
For a one-off full-page website capture, create an API key and call the endpoint (options and authentication are documented at ScreenshotNeo’s API documentation):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
The same request in Python:
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
And in Node.js:
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo supports full-page captures, CSS-element selection, device presets and custom viewports, retina scale, dark mode, PDF output, custom CSS or JavaScript, waits, request blocking, headers, cookies, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, chosen cache TTLs, signed image links, asynchronous webhooks and bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call. Its free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.
Troubleshooting checklist
The screenshot saves, but only the visible screen is included
Reopen the screenshot preview and look for Full Page, Capture more or Scroll capture. If no extension control appears, test a genuinely scrollable webpage and check the phone’s OS and model documentation.

The capture stops before the bottom
Some screens expose only a bounded scroll range. Extend it in multiple captures, reduce the range, or use the page’s print/PDF export. Content that appears only after interaction may require loading or expanding it first.

Sticky navigation, animated elements and lazy-loaded content can move while the phone stitches the page. Pause animations where possible, wait for images to load, dismiss overlays, and capture shorter sections.
The file is too large to share
Crop unnecessary space, use several focused captures, or save as PDF when the iPhone workflow offers that destination. Messaging apps may also recompress very tall images.
