Capture wild Aniimo with Aniipods, using traps and timing as part of the encounter. To evolve one, meet that creature’s specific requirements, then start the process from Aniimo Management; evolution is not an automatic level-up. The steps below distinguish those systems from Twining, which lets you use a collected Aniimo’s abilities.
How do you capture Aniimo?
Aniipods are the in-game items used to catch wild Aniimo. The official PlayStation game listing describes setting traps and timing catches as part of the capture experience, but does not give capture odds or a complete step-by-step procedure. It also says Aniimo appearances vary with the environment, weather, phenomena, and time of day, so those are factors to consider when searching for a particular creature.
The developer reported more than 200 Aniimo available at launch in its September 15, 2026 launch announcement. That is a launch-roster figure, not a guarantee about the current total.
Aniipod quality tiers
An unofficial Aniimo Wiki beginner guide names Common, Good, Elite, and Perfect Aniipod tiers, and says capture rates vary by creature. It also associates higher-quality Aniipods with better stats. These are guide-reported details, not an official capture formula: the cited sources do not establish exact odds or how much a tier changes the chance of success.

How do you evolve an Aniimo?
Most Aniimo can evolve, but the player initiates evolution after fulfilling the selected creature’s requirements. A Prima Games guide published September 16, 2026 gives these menu steps:
- Open the main menu.
- Select Aniimo Management.
- Choose the Aniimo you want to evolve.
- Select its Evolve icon and confirm when its requirements are met.
The guide also reports that a quick-evolve prompt appears when requirements are satisfied. Menu wording or presentation may change with updates; the cited guide does not specify a game version.

Evolution requirements depend on the Aniimo
Requirements can include reaching a level, completing a side objective, or finishing a mission, according to the same Prima Games guide. Its Emberpup example requires completing a Sanctum and meeting a level threshold, but the guide does not state the exact level. That example should not be applied to other species: the available sources do not provide a complete, current requirements list for every Aniimo.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Evolution is different from Twining
Evolution advances an Aniimo into its evolved form. Twining is a separate mechanic: the official PlayStation description says players can Twine with collected Aniimo and use their skills to solve puzzles, fight, and overcome challenges. Pawprint Studio’s official site likewise describes Twining as fusing with Aniimo to gain abilities and perspectives. Twining is not the evolution process.

What to do when evolution is unavailable
- Check the selected Aniimo’s requirements in Aniimo Management; a level alone may not be enough.
- Look for an objective, mission, or other species-specific prerequisite and complete it before trying again.
- Use the Emberpup example only as an illustration of a possible Sanctum-plus-level requirement, not as a universal rule.
