Use Microsoft Edge’s built-in Screenshot tool. Open the page, press Ctrl+Shift+S, select Capture full page, then review and save or copy the result. Edge captures content below the visible window without requiring you to scroll manually.
The feature is currently called Screenshot. Older guides may call it Web Capture, so do not worry if the wording differs from an older article or video.
Capture a full webpage in Edge
- Open the page. Navigate to the webpage you want to preserve in Microsoft Edge and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Open Screenshot. Press Ctrl+Shift+S. You can also open the page’s right-click menu and choose Screenshot, or open the Edge Settings menu and select Screenshot.
- Select the full-page mode. In the capture interface, choose Capture full page. Do not choose a region or visible-area option if you need content below the fold.
- Review the result. Edge generates one capture containing the page beyond the visible screen. Inspect the top, middle and bottom before sharing it.
- Copy or save it. Use the controls shown in your Edge version to copy the image or save it. The Screenshot tool also provides markup options, so you can annotate the capture before exporting or copying it.
Microsoft describes this as capturing “an entire webpage in a single screenshot—even content that extends beyond your screen.” The capture is an image workflow: it is not the same as printing a page into a paginated document.
Other ways to open Screenshot
The keyboard shortcut is the quickest route, but it is not the only one. If Ctrl+Shift+S is inconvenient, use either of these paths:

- Page menu: Right-click on the webpage and choose Screenshot.
- Edge menu: Open the browser’s Settings and more menu, then choose Screenshot.
Names and button placement can change between Edge releases. Look for Screenshot and then the control labeled Capture full page; those labels identify the relevant workflow even when the surrounding toolbar looks different.
What Capture full page includes
A full-page capture extends past the current viewport, so it is useful for documenting long articles, receipts, dashboards, instructions and pages that cannot fit in one screen. You do not need to drag a selection downward or stitch several screen grabs together yourself.
That does not guarantee identical results on every website. The official feature descriptions do not establish the same behavior for every operating system, Edge version, nested frame, or dynamically loaded page. Pages that keep replacing content, require interaction, or load sections only after scrolling can produce a result that needs checking.

Check dynamic and lazy-loaded content
Before capturing, allow the page to finish its normal loading state. If a chart, image gallery or expandable section appears only after an action, perform that action first. After Edge creates the image, inspect lower sections rather than assuming that every late-loading element was included.
Respect private and sensitive information
A full-page image can contain account details, order numbers, internal links and content that was not visible when you started. Redact sensitive areas with the markup tools before sending the file, and store the original securely if it contains personal or confidential data.
Save an image, print a document, or clip to OneNote?
Choose the output based on what you need next. These tools are related, but they do not produce the same result.

Use Edge Screenshot when a single image is the requirement. Use printing when selectable text, page breaks or a formal document matter more than a continuous image. OneNote Web Clipper is convenient when the destination is a notebook. Snipping Tool is appropriate for a visible region, not for an entire long webpage. GoFullPage is an optional extension, not a prerequisite for Edge’s built-in feature.
Troubleshoot an incomplete or missing capture
The shortcut does nothing
- Click the webpage first, then press Ctrl+Shift+S again.
- Open the page’s right-click menu and try Screenshot. If that works, use the menu route instead of the shortcut.
- Open Edge’s Settings and more menu and look for Screenshot. A changed shortcut, browser policy or keyboard utility may be intercepting the key combination.
You only get the visible area
Return to the capture interface and choose Capture full page, not a region or current-view mode. A visible-area snip cannot be expanded after it has been saved; run the capture again with the full-page option.
The bottom of the page is missing
Wait for the page to finish loading and repeat the capture. Trigger any “load more” control or expand the sections you need before starting. If the page still fails, try the print workflow for a document output or an optional full-page extension. These alternatives use different mechanisms and can produce different layouts.

Images, charts or widgets look blank
Some elements are loaded dynamically or depend on scripts, sign-in state, cross-origin frames or interaction. Confirm that the element is visible in the normal page first. If the capture remains incomplete, save the page through the print dialog or capture the relevant region separately; Edge’s published feature description does not promise identical behavior for every embedded or dynamic element.
The page is extremely long
Review the generated image at several points before sharing. A very tall raster image can be difficult to open, email or print. For a formal record, print to a document instead; for a visual reference, crop or split the image after checking that the original is safely stored.
You need a repeatable or automated process
Edge Screenshot is an interactive browser feature. If you need the same capture for many URLs, scheduled jobs, controlled headers or an API response, use an automation service rather than operating the browser window manually.
