Firefox has a direct Save full page option, Chrome exposes Capture a full size screenshot in DevTools, iPhone offers Full Page after a Safari screenshot, and Android 12+ commonly provides Capture more. Galaxy phones use Scroll Capture in the screenshot toolbar. The result may be a very tall image or a PDF, and the exact control depends on the browser, device and app.
What a scrolling screenshot captures
A normal screenshot records only the pixels currently visible in the viewport. A full-page capture extends the result down the document so menus, articles, receipts and other content below the fold appear in one file. It is not the same as zooming out, printing, or stitching unrelated screenshots together.
These tools work best on a finite, scrollable page. Infinite feeds, pages that change while you scroll, protected apps and some lazy-loaded sections may be incomplete. The official instructions below do not guarantee that every dynamically loaded item will appear.
Capture an entire page on desktop
Firefox: Save full page
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty area and choose Take Screenshot. Mozilla also documents a keyboard shortcut for opening the screenshot tool; the exact shortcut can vary by operating system and Firefox version.
- Choose Save full page. Select Save visible only when you want the current viewport.
- Use the resulting controls to download the image or copy it.
Firefox’s full-page command is in its screenshot tool, not necessarily in the browser’s main toolbar. If the menu item is missing, click a neutral page area first, update Firefox, and check whether the site or an embedded frame is preventing the tool from identifying a document.

Chrome: Capture a full size screenshot through DevTools
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Open DevTools (for example, from Chrome’s menu under More tools and Developer tools).
- Open the screenshot controls in DevTools’ device mode or command interface.
- Select Capture a full size screenshot.
Chrome’s documented route is a DevTools workflow. It is different from an operating-system screenshot or a browser-toolbar camera button. DevTools captures content beyond the current viewport at the emulated viewport size, so inspect the device and viewport settings before saving.
When a desktop image is too tall
A long image can be awkward to email, print or annotate. Use the browser’s print dialog and choose a PDF destination when you need pages with margins and page breaks. That creates a paginated document, not a single full-page image; links, selectable text and layout can also differ from a screenshot.
Capture a full webpage on iPhone
- In Safari, open the webpage you need.
- Take a normal screenshot with your iPhone’s button combination.
- Tap the screenshot preview before it disappears.
- At the top of the editor, choose Full Page.
- Review the page preview, then save or share it. Apple’s documented webpage example saves a full-page capture as a PDF to Files.
The Full Page tab follows the ordinary screenshot; it is not a separate camera mode. Availability and output can depend on the app. Apple specifically describes an entire webpage in Safari, so do not assume that every third-party app supports the same control.

Capture a scrolling page on Android
Android 12 and later: Capture more
- Open a scrollable page or screen.
- Take a screenshot, commonly by pressing Power and Volume down together.
- Tap Capture more at the bottom of the screenshot preview.
- Move the crop handles to include the content you need.
- Save the result.
Google describes this feature for Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. Device makers can change the buttons and labels, and some screens do not expose the option. If Capture more is absent, update the phone, try the system screenshot controls instead of an in-app overlay, and check the manufacturer’s support instructions.
Samsung Galaxy: Scroll Capture
- Open the webpage or app and take a screenshot.
- If necessary, enable the screenshot toolbar in the phone’s advanced screenshot settings.
- Tap Scroll Capture in the toolbar to extend the capture.
- Continue tapping or holding the control until the required content is included, then save.
Samsung notes that the available scroll length varies with the content and that Scroll Capture may not be available for certain websites or apps. A long or continuously updating feed can therefore stop earlier than expected.

Use Firefox or Chrome when you need a desktop image, iPhone’s Full Page when a PDF is useful, and Android or Galaxy scrolling controls when you are already viewing the page on a phone. There is no single method that works identically in every browser and app.

Quality and completeness checklist
- Wait for visible images and fonts to finish loading before starting.
- Scroll through interactive or expandable sections first if their content appears only after interaction.
- For pages that refresh, animate or load endlessly, record the capture date and check the bottom edge manually.
- Use a PDF workflow when a printer-friendly, paginated document matters more than one continuous image.
- Open the saved file before deleting the original page; very tall images can be difficult for some viewers to render.
Troubleshooting
The full-page option is missing
Confirm that you are on a scrollable document rather than a fixed panel, and use the platform’s documented path. On Chrome, look in DevTools rather than the browser toolbar. On Android, Capture more is limited to Android 12+ and supported screens. On Galaxy, the toolbar may need to be enabled.
The capture stops halfway
The page may be an infinite feed, an embedded frame, or an app that blocks scrolling capture. Try capturing the article view instead of a nested panel, wait for loading to finish, or take several intentional sections. Samsung specifically warns that scroll length can vary with content.

Reload on a stable connection, wait for images to load, and avoid starting while animations or consent dialogs cover the page. If the site uses lazy loading, moving through the page first can cause more content to render, but no official method guarantees that every lazy-loaded item will be included.

The file is too large to share
Crop unused margins, reduce image dimensions in an editor, or export/print to PDF. A PDF is easier to paginate and email, while an image preserves the exact visual appearance of the captured page.
Text is hard to read
Capture at the intended device or viewport width instead of zooming far out. For records that need searchable text, save the page as PDF or HTML in addition to the screenshot.

- Dynamic content: Settle page animations and network activity before capturing; otherwise the result may show mixed states.

Is a scrolling screenshot the same as a PDF?
