To capture more than the visible screen, try Android’s Capture more control on Android 12 or later, or Chrome’s Long screenshot option. The phone’s RAM amount is not a screenshot requirement; it matters only if the page struggles to load.
Take a normal screenshot of a website
- Open the website in your browser and display the part you want to capture.
- Press Power and Volume Down at the same time.
- Use the screenshot preview or notification to view, edit, save, or share the image. The exact controls and save location can vary by phone manufacturer.
If the button combination does not work, press and hold Power for a few seconds and tap Screenshot if that option appears. If neither method is available, check the phone manufacturer’s support instructions for your model. Google’s Android screenshot guidance describes the standard shortcut and notes that device-specific steps can differ.
Capture a full webpage with Android’s Capture more
Android’s built-in scrolling screenshot feature is available on Android 12 and later on most screens that can scroll. It is not guaranteed to appear on every phone, page, or app.
- Open the page and press Power + Volume Down.
- In the screenshot controls, tap Capture more.
- Adjust the crop guides to include the content you want.
- Save or share the resulting screenshot.
If Capture more is missing, the current screen or device may not support the system feature. Try Chrome’s own long-screenshot workflow below instead. Google documents Capture more for most scrollable screens, not all of them.

Capture a long screenshot in Chrome
Chrome for Android has a separate browser-level option that captures a webpage as a long image. Open the page, then follow this path:
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share….
- Choose Long screenshot.
- Adjust the crop handles and tap Confirm.
- Save or share the image using the options shown.
The menu wording or availability can vary by Chrome version and device. If the option is not present, use Android’s Capture more where available, or take multiple ordinary screenshots. Chrome’s help page explains its Long screenshot workflow.

What 3 GB of RAM means for screenshots
There is no established 3 GB RAM minimum for taking a screenshot. The screenshot shortcut is an Android feature, and Chrome’s long screenshot is a browser feature; neither is described by Google as requiring a particular amount of memory.
RAM can affect whether a demanding webpage loads smoothly. Google says Chrome’s automatic desktop-site selection requires 8 GB of RAM; devices with less memory default to mobile sites. That is a setting for choosing how websites are presented, not a screenshot eligibility threshold. Chrome’s desktop-site guidance covers the memory condition.

If the webpage will not load or the screenshot option fails
- The page is blank, slow, or closes: Close all other Chrome tabs except the affected one, quit other apps, pause downloads, and reload the page. These are Google’s recommended steps when Chrome may be running out of memory. See Chrome’s troubleshooting guidance.
- Capture more does not appear: It is supported on most, not all, scrollable screens and requires Android 12 or later. Try Chrome’s More > Share… > Long screenshot instead.
- Long screenshot is absent in Chrome: The option may not be available in that browser setup. Check that Chrome is up to date, then try the Android system capture option or ordinary screenshots.
- The buttons do nothing: Try holding Power and selecting Screenshot from the power menu if offered. For model-specific controls, consult the phone maker’s support site.
- The image cuts off content: Reopen the long-capture tool and adjust its crop guides or handles before confirming. Some pages do not allow scrolling capture across their full content.
