For a page that continues below the screen, use Scroll capture when the option is available. If you want the site’s desktop layout, request Desktop site or Desktop version in the browser and refresh first; that changes the requested page layout, not the tablet’s physical display size.
Take a screenshot on your Galaxy Tab
- Open the website in Chrome or Samsung Internet.
- Set the tablet to the orientation and browser view you want to document. To request a desktop layout, turn on the browser’s desktop option and refresh the page first.
- Use the Galaxy Tab’s screenshot controls to capture the visible screen. Samsung documents several screenshot methods; available features can vary by model and software version. Captures can be found in Gallery. Samsung’s screenshot and screen-recording instructions describe the device steps.
- For a long page, tap Scroll capture in the screenshot toolbar if it appears. Continue scrolling to include more of the page, then stop when you have the section you need. The control depends on the device, software, and scrolling context. Android also documents scrolling screenshots on Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. Choose the page layout before capturing
Desktop mode is useful when you need to see how a site responds to a request for its desktop presentation. It does not make the Tab’s display larger, set a universal screenshot resolution, or guarantee that the site will look exactly like it does on a desktop monitor.
Chrome for Android
For one site, open the site, tap More, then Desktop site, and refresh. To change the default and manage exceptions, go to More > Settings > Site settings > Desktop site. Chrome’s default option can choose a view based on screen size and device RAM; refresh after changing the setting. Google Chrome Help: Manage desktop mode settings on mobile.
Samsung Internet
In Samsung Internet, tap More > Desktop version to request the PC version of the site, then refresh if necessary. Samsung’s developer documentation includes example mobile and desktop user-agent strings, but those examples should not be assumed to represent the current user agent of every device or version. What “Galaxy Tab screen size” means
The phrase can mean three different things: the tablet’s physical display, the browser’s viewport and chosen page layout, or the pixel dimensions of the saved image. A normal screenshot records what is rendered on the tablet at capture time. Desktop mode affects the requested site presentation; it does not specify the physical display resolution or establish a standard screenshot size.
There is no single pixel dimension that applies to all Galaxy Tabs. Model, orientation, display settings, browser controls, and capture method affect what is recorded. For a reproducible development reference, note the tablet model, orientation, browser, desktop-mode setting, and screenshot method alongside the image. A user-agent setting alone does not establish the actual viewport or file dimensions.

Pick the capture method for the result you need

Use S Pen tools for a region or annotation
If your model supports the relevant S Pen features, Smart Select can select a region, while Screen write captures the current screen for markup. Neither is required for a standard webpage screenshot. Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet S Pen guide covers these workflows.
Troubleshooting
- There is no Scroll capture button: The option is limited to applicable scrolling contexts and may not be available on your model or software version. Try a normal screenshot, check for software updates and device-specific guidance, or capture the page in sections.
- The screenshot stops at the visible screen: A normal screenshot captures only the current view. Start another capture and use Scroll capture from the toolbar if it appears.
- The website still looks mobile after enabling desktop mode: Refresh after changing the setting. The site may not provide a desktop presentation for that request, and desktop mode does not emulate a particular computer’s display.
- The saved image’s dimensions do not match an expected “Tab size”: There is no universal Galaxy Tab screenshot dimension. Check the exact model, orientation, display settings, browser view, and saved image properties before citing dimensions.
- You need a selected region but do not have Smart Select: Smart Select and Screen write depend on compatible S Pen support. Use the device’s normal screenshot controls if those options are unavailable.

How do I capture the whole webpage on a Samsung Galaxy Tab?
Take a screenshot, then use Scroll capture from the screenshot toolbar if your device offers it for that page. Desktop mode alone does not extend the capture.

Does Desktop site make my Galaxy Tab screenshot a desktop-resolution image?
No. It requests a desktop presentation from the site; the screenshot still reflects the tablet and capture conditions.
