To capture an entire webpage, use your browser or phone’s full-page command rather than an ordinary screenshot. On desktop, Chrome DevTools offers Capture a full size screenshot; Firefox has an entire-page tool. On iPhone Safari, take a screenshot and choose Full Page. On Android 12 and newer, take a screenshot and tap Capture more where supported. These methods produce image files, while Safari can also save a document-style PDF.

Before any capture, let the page finish loading, expand accordions or menus you need, and scroll through sections that load on demand. Record the URL and capture date when the image is evidence; webpages can change after you save them.
Capture a full webpage in Chrome on desktop
Use DevTools’ full-size command
- Open the target page in Chrome.
- Open Developer Tools with Ctrl+Shift+I (Windows/Linux) or Command+Option+I (macOS), or choose More tools > Developer tools.
- Open the DevTools command menu with Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows/Linux) or Command+Shift+P (macOS).
- Type screenshot.
- Choose Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome saves the image, normally as a PNG, to your Downloads folder.
Capture screenshot in the same menu captures only the current viewport. Use it when you do not want content below the fold.
Improve the result before saving
- Set the required responsive size with the device toolbar if you need a mobile-width rendition.
- Refresh after dismissing cookie dialogs and closing chat or newsletter overlays.
- For lazy-loaded images, scroll through the page first so images have a chance to load.
- Expect a very tall image for long documents; a PDF or a sequence of viewport captures may be easier to review.

Enable the screenshot button if it is missing
- Open Firefox Developer Tools.
- Open DevTools settings and find Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Click the screenshot button and select the entire-page option. Firefox saves the image to Downloads.
Firefox also provides visible-area and element capture. Element capture is useful when you need one article, table, or card rather than the complete document.

Capture an entire webpage on iPhone Safari
- Open the page in Safari and wait for its content to load.
- On a Face ID iPhone, quickly press and release the side button and Volume Up together. On a Home-button model, press the side button and Home together.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears.
- Select Full Page at the top of the editor.
- Use the crop controls or markup tools if needed.
- Tap Done, then save the result to Photos or choose the option to save it as a PDF in Files.
The Full Page tab appears for webpages and other supported scrollable documents; it may not appear in every app or view. A full-page capture can be shared as an image, while the Files workflow creates a PDF representation.
Capture a scrolling screenshot on Android
- Open the webpage in your Android browser.
- Take a normal screenshot using your device’s hardware shortcut (commonly Power plus Volume Down).
- Tap Capture more in the screenshot controls.
- Drag the crop guides until the additional page content you need is included.
- Save or share the resulting long image.
Google documents this workflow for devices running Android 12 and up on most screens that allow scrolling. Manufacturers can rename the control, place it in a different panel, or omit it in particular apps. If Capture more is absent, use the browser’s print-to-PDF command or a page-capture tool instead.
Save a webpage as a PDF on iPhone
- In Safari, tap Share.
- Choose Markup and add annotations if required.
- Tap Done.
- Choose Save File To, select a folder, and save.
This is a document-style rendering, not a pixel-for-pixel image. It is generally preferable when readers need selectable text, a smaller file, or a printable record.

Why full-page captures sometimes look wrong
Lazy-loaded or missing images
Many pages request images only as you approach them. Scroll through the document before capturing, check that image placeholders have been replaced, and then repeat the capture.

A header that stays pinned during scrolling can be stitched into a long image more than once. Hide the header temporarily, use an element capture, or export a PDF when a clean document matters.
Nested scrolling panels
A page can contain an independently scrolling table, chat panel, or code block. The browser’s full-page command may capture only the panel’s visible portion. Capture that element separately or expand it before taking the page shot.

Dynamic pages and overlays
Consent banners, newsletter prompts, chat widgets, animations, and ads can obscure content or change the layout during capture. Close them, wait for animations to settle, and disable reader-mode or translation features that alter the page unless that altered view is what you intend to document.
Very long documents
Extremely tall images can be slow to open and difficult to share. Split the page into logical sections, print to PDF, or use a service that can resize or deliver a PDF.

Troubleshooting checklist
The screenshot contains only the visible area
Use Chrome’s Capture a full size screenshot, enable Firefox’s entire-page button, or choose Full Page/Capture more on mobile. A normal screenshot cannot include content outside the viewport.
A mobile option is missing
Confirm that the device runs Android 12 or newer and that the screen is scrollable. Android manufacturers and individual apps can limit the feature. On iPhone, the Full Page tab is available in supported Safari webpage views, not every app.

Images or text are cut off
Wait for the page to finish loading, scroll to trigger lazy content, close overlays, and retry. For nested panels, capture the panel itself or use a PDF.
The output is too large
Capture sections, choose JPEG or WebP where appropriate, resize the image, or save a PDF for document sharing. Keep an original lossless capture when it is being used as evidence.

- Use a consistent viewport, device preset, zoom level, and color mode when comparing pages.

- For repeatable monitoring, prefer a scripted capture with an explicit wait condition, cache policy, and output format.
