To capture a webpage as a PDF with GrabzIt, submit the page’s URL using its URL-to-PDF method, set any needed PDF layout options, and then retrieve or save the completed capture through the API client you chose. GrabzIt also documents separate methods for converting an HTML string or HTML file to PDF.
Choose the right input method
GrabzIt is a web capture and conversion API; it is separate from a browser’s built-in “Save as PDF” feature. Its documentation describes three input routes:
- URL to PDF: Use this for a webpage available at a URL.
- HTML to PDF: Use this when you already have the page markup as a string.
- HTML file to PDF: Use this when the source is an HTML file.
For a live webpage, choose URL-to-PDF. The Node.js documentation lists the three routes and their PDF options: GrabzIt Node.js Technical Documentation.
Set up access and choose an interface
GrabzIt’s API overview says API users need an application key and secret, and must select an API access method. Keep those credentials private. The overview also notes that account access can be restricted by domain and IP: GrabzIt API overview.

Use the REST interface or a language client that fits your application. The available sources describe controls and workflows but do not establish one universally best client or configuration. Consult the documentation for the client you use, since completion and retrieval methods can differ.
Choose PDF layout options
Set only the options that suit the target page and the PDF you need. The Node.js documentation lists these PDF settings and defaults:

These are documented defaults, not recommended settings for every site. Rendering depends on the target page and chosen options, so check the resulting PDF when layout fidelity matters.
Use the REST interface when you need capture controls
GrabzIt’s REST documentation lists additional controls, including browser width and height, full-page height, delay, capture country, and a cover URL. These options let you influence the capture request; their presence does not guarantee a particular page will render as expected. Complete the capture and retrieve the PDF
After requesting the capture, follow the completion flow for your chosen client. For example, GrabzIt’s Java PDF guide says to call either Save or SaveTo to take the PDF screenshot or convert HTML straight to PDF. Do not assume those method names or the same synchronous behavior apply to every language client. See GrabzIt’s Java PDF capture guide.

Does every GrabzIt client use Save or SaveTo?
The Java PDF guide specifies those methods for its workflow. Client-specific completion and retrieval methods may differ.
