Take a screenshot in Brave

Choose between Brave and Windows Snipping Tool
Use Brave’s shortcut to invoke its browser-provided screenshot feature. Use Windows Snipping Tool when you need to choose a screen area or capture a window or the full screen, rather than relying on Brave’s capture scope.

Microsoft’s guidance applies to Windows 10 and Windows 11. To use this route, press Windows key+Shift+S, choose a snip mode, and select the area or window. The result is copied into Snipping Tool, where you can edit, save, or share it. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool instructions.
Capture only part of a page
If you only need a portion of what is visible on screen, use Windows key+Shift+S and select a rectangular or freeform snip. You can also capture a window or the entire screen with Snipping Tool’s other modes. The Brave sources cited here do not establish whether Brave’s screenshot tool offers a selection-area mode, so use Snipping Tool when you need a documented region-selection workflow.

Does Brave support full-page screenshots?
The current Brave feature inventory and staff shortcut announcement confirm the Screenshot tool, but do not document whether it captures beyond the visible viewport. Do not assume that Ctrl+Shift+S captures a full scrolling page; check the controls in your installed version.
An older Brave Community support reply describes opening Developer Tools, pressing Ctrl+Shift+P, and searching for “shot” to find screenshot commands. That reply dates to August 2021, before Brave announced its built-in Screenshot feature, so treat it as an older advanced route, not current official guidance for full-page capture. Troubleshoot the shortcut
- Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing: Check Brave’s menu or shortcut settings in your installed version, and confirm Brave is up to date. The cited Help Center shortcut page does not list a screenshot entry in its rendered Windows shortcut table, so it does not establish that this shortcut is customizable.
- You need a precise screen region: Press Windows key+Shift+S and choose rectangular or freeform snipping instead of assuming Brave has a region-selection control.
- You need the entire scrolling page: The cited Brave sources do not establish current full-page support. Check the controls in your version; the older Developer Tools route is not confirmation that current Brave supports full-page capture.
- You cannot find a saved file: The Brave sources cited here do not establish where a screenshot is saved or whether it is copied automatically. Check the on-screen controls after capture, or use Snipping Tool, whose documented workflow lets you edit and save the snip.
