To capture a DigiLocker page on Windows, open the page, press Windows+Shift+S, choose a snipping mode, and select the area you want. Open the resulting capture in Snipping Tool, review it for private details, then use Save or Save as to choose where to store the image.
Capture a DigiLocker page with Snipping Tool
- Go to the official DigiLocker website and open the page or account view you need. If you sign in, DigiLocker asks for your registered mobile number; avoid including credentials, one-time codes, or personal account details in an image you intend to share. DigiLocker sign-in

- Choose the capture mode that fits the task, then select the content on screen.
- Select the Snipping Tool notification to review the result. Crop or annotate if needed, then choose Save or Save as and select a location. Do not assume the capture has been saved to a particular folder automatically; behavior can depend on your Snipping Tool version and settings. Microsoft Support
Choose the right capture mode
- Rectangular snip: Drag around just the page section you need. This is usually best for a focused help request or proof of a visible detail.
- Freeform snip: Draw an irregular outline around the part you want to keep.
- Window snip: Select the browser window to capture it as a whole.
- Full-screen snip: Capture everything visible on the screen.

Use Print Screen for the whole screen or active window
If you prefer a keyboard shortcut, Print Screen copies an image of the full screen to the clipboard. Alt+Print Screen copies only the active window. These shortcuts copy the capture rather than directly saving it as an image file, so paste it into an image editor or another suitable destination and save it there. Review privacy before sharing
A screenshot shows whatever is visible on screen. Before sending or posting one, inspect the image for names, phone numbers, document identifiers, account information, browser tabs, or unrelated content. This is especially important when a signed-in DigiLocker page or a personal document is visible.

Snipping Tool can crop and annotate images. Its text actions also offer quick redaction for detected email addresses and phone numbers, but that does not mean every sensitive identifier will be found or hidden. Check the finished image yourself before sharing. Microsoft Support
DigiLocker describes itself as a platform for storing, sharing, and verifying documents and certificates. Its terms, last modified June 2, 2025, say users retain ownership of content they upload, store, share, or transmit; that does not remove the need to check what a screenshot reveals. If the capture is blank or incomplete
- The capture missed the page: Retry after the page finishes loading and select the relevant Snipping Tool mode again.
- You captured the wrong area: Use rectangular snip for a specific section, window snip for the browser window, or full-screen snip for everything visible.
- You cannot find an image file: The shortcut capture may still be in Snipping Tool or the clipboard. Open it in Snipping Tool and explicitly save it to a chosen location, or paste a clipboard capture into an editor and save it.
Official instructions describe standard screenshot capture but do not establish how every protected, dynamic, or temporarily unavailable DigiLocker page behaves across browsers and Windows builds. If a page element still does not appear, the capture may depend on the page or browser behavior; these steps cannot guarantee that every element will render in an image.
