Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteOpen the LinkedIn post, position it on screen, and use your device’s built-in screenshot shortcut. On iPhone, the shortcut depends on whether the phone has Face ID or a Home button. Android commonly uses Power + Volume Down, while Windows and Mac have their own keyboard shortcuts. LinkedIn does not provide a separate “capture post” button.
Choose between an image and a post link
A screenshot gives you a static image that preserves what was visible when you captured it. Use one when you need to place the post in a document, report, presentation, support ticket, or design.
If the recipient should open the original post, a link is usually better. A post link can lead to the current comments and reactions, while a screenshot cannot. Access still depends on the post’s visibility and the viewer’s relationship to the author.
| Goal | Best choice | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Save exactly what is on screen | Screenshot | It is a static image and may include names, photos, or other identifying details. |
| Let someone open the original post | Post URL | Anyone you send it to may not be able to view a post restricted to connections or a group. |
LinkedIn lists visibility options such as Anyone, Connections only, and Group. Public sharing outside LinkedIn also depends on public-profile settings. See LinkedIn’s visibility guidance and its explanation of sharing public posts.

Capture a LinkedIn post on iPhone
- Open LinkedIn and display the post. Scroll until the text, image, or video frame you need is positioned on screen.
- On an iPhone with Face ID, press and release the Power (side) button and Volume Up at the same time.
- On an iPhone with a Home button, press and release Home and Power together.
- A preview appears at the lower-left corner. Tap it to crop, annotate, or share, or swipe it left to dismiss.
- Find the finished image in the Photos app.
These are the controls described in LinkedIn’s mobile screenshot instructions. If your model uses a different button arrangement, follow Apple’s current device instructions.
Capture a long post
A normal screenshot captures only the visible viewport. For a post whose text extends below the screen, take several screenshots while scrolling, or use LinkedIn’s post link instead. The standard LinkedIn instructions do not promise a full-page capture of an entire feed post.
Capture a LinkedIn post on Android
- Open the post and position it as needed.
- Press Power and Volume Down together, then release.
- If that does not work, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds and tap Screenshot.
- Open the preview if you want to crop or annotate it. Depending on the phone, the preview may appear at the lower-left or at the top.
- Find the image in Photos or Gallery.
Android controls vary by manufacturer and software version. If neither method works, LinkedIn recommends checking the phone manufacturer’s support site. The current LinkedIn steps are in its mobile Help Center article.
When Android blocks or changes the shortcut
- Make sure you press both buttons briefly rather than holding them.
- Try the Power-menu Screenshot command.
- Check Quick Settings for a Screenshot tile.
- Use the manufacturer’s support instructions if your phone uses a gesture or another shortcut.
Capture a LinkedIn post on Windows
- Open LinkedIn in your browser and place the post where you want it.
- Press Windows logo key + Shift + S.
- Drag over the area containing the post. Windows copies the selection to the clipboard.
- Select the notification that opens Snipping Tool.
- Choose Save as, then save the image as JPG or PNG.
LinkedIn documents this workflow in its computer screenshot guidance. If you do not need editing, paste the clipboard image directly into an email or document.

Capture a LinkedIn post on Mac
- Open the post in LinkedIn and position it on screen.
- Press Shift + Command + 3.
- macOS saves the screenshot to the desktop, according to LinkedIn’s Help Center instructions.
For a selected area rather than the whole display, macOS also provides other screenshot shortcuts; their exact behavior can vary by macOS version. LinkedIn’s documented method is the full-screen shortcut above.
Copy the LinkedIn post URL instead
- Open the post’s More menu.
- On desktop, choose Copy link to post.
- In the iOS app, choose Share via, then Copy.
- In the Android app, choose Share via, then Copy to clipboard.
- Paste the unique URL into your message or document.
See LinkedIn’s instructions for finding a shared-content URL. A copied link does not override the post’s audience settings. A connection-only or group post can remain unavailable to the recipient even when the URL is correct.
Does LinkedIn notify someone when you screenshot a post?
LinkedIn’s official Help Center pages reviewed for this guide explain how to take screenshots and copy post links, but they do not state whether the post author receives a notification when someone screenshots an ordinary post. Therefore, do not rely on an unsupported yes-or-no claim. If notification behavior matters for a sensitive situation, check LinkedIn’s current help documentation and applicable policy before sharing.
Protect people’s information before sharing
A screenshot can include a person’s name, profile photo, employer, comments, message previews, or other details that were not your intended focus. Crop unrelated areas, blur information where appropriate, and confirm that you are allowed to redistribute the content. A screenshot does not change the original post’s visibility, but publishing the image can expose information to a new audience. Treat private or group content cautiously.

Or skip the browser setup
If you need a repeatable capture from a URL rather than a one-off device image, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It accepts a URL and returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Its cleanup steps can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled.
Only clean shots are billed. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
For a LinkedIn URL you are authorized to access, call the API like this (replace the example URL with the post URL):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.linkedin.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for authentication, options, and response details. The same service supports full-page captures with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, device presets, custom viewports, retina scale, PDF paper and page settings, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicks, waits, blocked resources, headers, cookies, user agents, authorization, timezone and geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, selectable cache TTLs, signed image links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API, and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can simplify migration.
Python:
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://www.linkedin.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js:
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://www.linkedin.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
Pricing is straightforward: Free includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; Starter is $5 for 3,000; Growth $15 for 15,000; Pro $39 for 60,000; Scale $99 for 250,000; and Business $249 for 1,000,000. Troubleshooting checklist
The shortcut does nothing
- On iPhone, press the two buttons simultaneously and release quickly; verify whether your model has Face ID or a Home button.
- On Android, try Power + Volume Down, then the Power-menu Screenshot command. Manufacturer-specific gestures may replace both.
- On Windows, confirm that Windows + Shift + S is being pressed together and that Snipping Tool is available.
- On Mac, verify the Command key and use Shift + Command + 3.
The screenshot is missing content
Scroll the post into view before capturing. A standard screenshot cannot include content below the visible viewport. Capture multiple sections or copy the post URL.
The recipient cannot open the link
Check the post’s audience. Connections-only and group posts can require the recipient to belong to that audience, and public sharing can depend on profile visibility settings.
The image contains unwanted overlays
Close menus, cookie notices, chat widgets, and notification banners before capturing. Crop the result afterward. For automated URL captures, ScreenshotNeo can remove supported consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot.
FAQ
Where are screenshots saved?
iPhone saves them in Photos; Android commonly uses Photos or Gallery; Windows saves wherever you choose in Snipping Tool; and LinkedIn’s Mac instructions say the image is saved to the desktop.
Can I screenshot a LinkedIn video?
Yes, the device shortcut captures the current frame, but it will not preserve motion or audio. Pause the video on the frame you need first.
