This works with the built-in capture options documented for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The portal itself does not require a special screenshot procedure.
Capture the GST Portal page with Snipping Tool
- Open the page you need on the GST Portal in your browser. Position the relevant information on screen.
- Press Windows logo key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool overlay. Microsoft documents this shortcut for Windows 10 and Windows 11: Use Snipping Tool to capture screenshots.
- Select a capture mode. For a particular section, choose rectangle mode and drag around it. Choose window mode to capture a window, full-screen mode for the entire screen, or freeform mode to trace an irregular area.
- Open the captured snip in Snipping Tool. Add annotations if needed, then use the save control or Save as to choose a location and image filename. Available controls can vary with the installed Snipping Tool version.
Choose the right capture mode

Microsoft also documents the Print Screen (PrtSc) key as a way to take a static full-screen snapshot and copy it to the clipboard. If you use it, paste the image into an image editor or other suitable app to save it as a file.
Capture a long page that extends below the screen
A standard Snipping Tool screen, window, or area capture records what is visible; it should not be treated as a scrolling screenshot of an entire long webpage. If you need to document a page that continues below the screen, capture separate visible sections as needed. The Microsoft guidance linked above does not describe a scrolling-page capture method, so verify any browser-specific approach before relying on it.
Protect GST account information
The screenshot process is a Windows operation, not a GST Portal feature. GST Network’s guidance covers portal access and account authentication, including OTP scenarios, rather than a special capture mode: see View / Download Certificates and Logging in and Managing Username and Password.

- Use a non-sensitive page when a demonstration or general reference will do.
- Before sharing a capture, check that it does not reveal passwords, OTPs, or confidential taxpayer information. GSTN warns users not to disclose credentials or OTP details.
