Screenshot.Rocks’ online capture tool takes a screenshot of a webpage’s first screen, not its entire scrollable length. To capture the full page, use your browser’s built-in screenshot feature, then import the image into Screenshot.Rocks’ editor if you want to crop it or add a frame or background.
Does Screenshot.Rocks capture a full webpage?
No. Screenshot.Rocks’ online website capture is designed to make a framed image of a public page’s initial screen. Its browser extension captures the visible portion of the current tab, rather than a full-page image. For a full-length capture, use the browser steps below; the Screenshot.Rocks editor can be used afterward to crop or style the result. Screenshot.Rocks’ full-page guide describes the distinction.
Capture a full page on a desktop browser
Chrome
- Open the page you want to capture, then open DevTools with F12 or Command+Option+I on Mac.
- Open the Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on Mac. These are the shortcuts listed in Chrome’s Command Menu documentation.
- Type screenshot and select Capture full size screenshot. Chrome saves the PNG to Downloads, according to Screenshot.Rocks’ guide.
Firefox
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S ( Command+Shift+S on Mac).
- Select Save full page.
- Download the image or copy it. Mozilla documents both choices in its Firefox Screenshots help page.
Microsoft Edge
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S ( Command+Shift+S on Mac), or open the three-dot menu and select Screenshot.
- Select Capture full page, then save or copy the result.
Edge’s steps are documented in the Screenshot.Rocks guide. Menu names may vary by browser version.
Safari on Mac
- In Safari Settings → Advanced, enable Show features for web developers. Earlier Safari versions may label this Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- Open Web Inspector with Command+Option+I.
- In Elements, right-click the top-level
<html>entry and select Capture Screenshot.
These Safari steps are from the Screenshot.Rocks full-page guide.

Fix common full-page screenshot problems
- Images are missing: The page may load images only when they approach the visible area. Scroll slowly to the bottom and back to the top before capturing so more images load.
- A cookie banner or sticky header covers content: Dismiss the banner first. If an element still obstructs the page, select it in DevTools’ Elements panel and delete it. That change lasts only until the page reloads.
- The text looks blurry: Capture sharpness depends on display resolution. In Chrome DevTools device mode, set the device pixel ratio to 2 for a sharper image.
- The image is cut off, or capture fails: Browsers limit the height of a single image. Capture the page in sections or capture only the relevant part.
- The full capture is too tall to read in a frame: Crop to the section readers need, or place the full image on a tall canvas such as 9:16.
These fixes come from the Screenshot.Rocks troubleshooting guide.

When to use Screenshot.Rocks after capturing
Use Screenshot.Rocks’ online capture when a framed mockup of a public webpage’s first screen is what you need. The service offers desktop and mobile layouts, plus frame and background options. Its stated desktop capture is 1440 × 800 at 2× density (2880 × 1600 pixels); its mobile capture is 375 × 812 at 3× density (1125 × 2436 pixels). These are Screenshot.Rocks product dimensions, not universal browser screenshot sizes. See its website and full-page guide.
Screenshot.Rocks says its online capture cannot access content behind a login, reach localhost, or capture sites that block automated browsers. For a private or logged-in page, local or staging content, or a particular page state, capture it in your browser and optionally import the resulting screenshot into the editor. Screenshot.Rocks says the online capture is returned to your browser and is not stored on its server.

For an API-based capture, ScreenshotNeo takes a URL in one GET request and can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a screenshot of the target page as WebP:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and options. Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; you can turn off each step. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. ScreenshotNeo also provides an MCP server with screenshot, page-info, and PDF-capture tools for AI agents. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
