Use Puppeteer’s page.screenshot({ fullPage: true }) method to capture the full rendered page rather than only the current viewport. Add a path to save the image to disk; without one, Puppeteer returns image data instead of writing a file.
Capture and save the whole page
Install Puppeteer in your Node.js project, then launch a browser, open the target page, and call Page.screenshot() with fullPage: true. The option is a boolean and defaults to false, so set it explicitly for a full-page image. This example uses ES modules:

}The path saves the screenshot as page.png. Puppeteer infers the image type from the file extension; PNG is the documented default. The finally block closes the browser even if navigation or capture fails. Closing it after capture is also shown in Puppeteer’s screenshot guide.
Install Puppeteer
In an existing project, install the package with:
npm install puppeteerImporting puppeteer gives you the Node.js Puppeteer interface, whose typical workflow uses launch() to start a browser. See the getting started guide for the basic setup.

Choose when navigation is ready
The sample calls page.goto() with its default navigation wait. For pages that need more time to load, you can choose a waitUntil condition, such as networkidle2:
await page.goto('https://example.com', { waitUntil: 'networkidle2' });Puppeteer’s guide uses that condition in an example, but it is not a universal definition of page readiness. If the content you need is rendered asynchronously, wait for a page-specific selector or condition before taking the screenshot.
Save to disk or use the returned image data
Use path when the image should be written to a file. If you omit it, Puppeteer does not save the screenshot to disk; the call returns image data instead. You can consume the returned bytes in memory, or request a base64 string with the appropriate encoding option.

Set image format and capture options
The file extension determines the output type when you supply a path. Puppeteer documents PNG as the default; choose a matching extension for another supported image format. The screenshot options reference includes these additional settings:

For an ordinary full-page screenshot, begin with fullPage: true and add other options only when the output requires them. The ScreenshotOptions reference defines the available settings and defaults.

Full page versus one element
page.screenshot({ fullPage: true }) captures the page. If you need only a particular element, locate it and call ElementHandle.screenshot() instead. Puppeteer scrolls the element into view if needed; the call throws if that element has been detached from the DOM.

fullPage: true selects full-page capture; it does not guarantee that every site has finished rendering all content. Lazy-loaded images, infinite scrolling, and other asynchronous sections may need page-specific preparation. Wait for the content you need before taking the screenshot, and verify that the resulting file contains the expected sections. The reviewed Puppeteer API documentation does not promise that full-page capture itself forces every site to load all dynamic content.

Troubleshooting
The image shows only the viewport
Set fullPage: true explicitly. Its default is false, which captures the viewport rather than the full page.
No image file appears
Check that the screenshot options include a path and that the process can write to that location. If you omit path, the screenshot is returned as data and is not saved to disk.
The screenshot is missing late-loading content
Wait for the specific content the page needs to render before calling screenshot(). A navigation wait condition can help with page loading, but the right readiness check depends on the site; a generic network-idle condition is not a guarantee that every application has finished rendering.

An element screenshot fails
If using ElementHandle.screenshot(), confirm the element was found and remains attached to the DOM until capture. Puppeteer’s element screenshot method throws when the handle has been detached.
Concurrent page operations appear to pause
Within a BrowserContext, Puppeteer documents that calls such as newPage() and close() wait for an in-progress screenshot to finish; bringToFront() does not wait. Account for that behavior if other tasks share the context while a capture is running. See the Page API reference.
