The option appears in Apple’s screenshot editor for supported content that extends beyond one screen.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A normal screenshot records only what is visible on the display. A full-page screenshot extends beyond the current viewport and can include the rest of a webpage or other supported content. Apple’s iPhone User Guide specifically documents capturing an entire webpage in Safari. The result is not automatically the same file type: Save to Photos creates an image, while Save PDF to Files creates a PDF.

The Full Page control is app-dependent. Safari is Apple’s clearest documented example; Apple does not promise that every third-party app will expose the control. If an app does not offer it, you can still save one or more ordinary screenshots, but the built-in scrolling view may not be available.
Before you start
- Open the page or supported document you want to preserve and let the content load.
- In Safari, make sure you are on the exact page state you want to capture. A full-page capture can include content far below the part currently visible.
- Decide whether the destination should be Photos (an image) or Files (a PDF).
- If the page contains passwords, addresses, payment details, private messages or other sensitive information, review the preview before saving or sharing it.
How to take a full-page screenshot in Safari
- Open the webpage. Launch Safari and navigate to the page you need.
- Take a normal screenshot.
- On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together.
- On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release the side button and Home button together.
- Open the screenshot editor. Tap the thumbnail that appears after the capture.
- Switch to the full-page view. At the top of the editor, tap Full Page. A preview on the right lets you inspect material beyond the visible screen.
- Trim or mark up the capture if needed. Drag the crop handles to keep only the section you need. You can also use Markup to draw, add text or otherwise annotate before saving.
- Choose an output. Tap Save to Photos for an image, or tap Save PDF to Files, choose a Files location, and tap Save.
If you leave the editor without saving, the capture is not placed in the destination you selected. If the thumbnail disappears before you tap it, take the screenshot again and open the new thumbnail.

Choose the right output

Crop and Markup are available in the editor before either save action. Once saved, the destination determines how you locate and manage the result: look in Photos for the image, or in the folder you selected in Files for the PDF.
Alternative ways to trigger the screenshot
The button combinations are the standard method, but Apple also lists Siri, AssistiveTouch and Back Tap as alternate screenshot triggers. These are useful if pressing two physical buttons together is difficult or unreliable.
Siri
Ask Siri to take a screenshot, then open the resulting thumbnail and follow the same Full Page and save steps when the current app supports them.
AssistiveTouch
If you use the on-screen AssistiveTouch menu to trigger screenshots, open the thumbnail afterward and check whether Full Page is offered.

Back Tap
With Back Tap configured as your screenshot action, tap the back of the iPhone to capture the screen, then use the screenshot editor in the usual way.
When the Full Page button is missing
You captured content in an unsupported app
Apple’s documented example is an entire webpage in Safari, and availability outside that scope depends on the app. Return to Safari for a webpage, or check whether the app has its own export or scrolling-capture feature.
The content fits on one screen
The feature is intended for content that exceeds the length of the iPhone screen. If there is nothing below the current view, the editor may not present a longer-page option.
You opened the wrong editor state
Tap the screenshot thumbnail immediately after taking the capture. If it vanished, repeat the screenshot. The Full Page tab is at the top of the screenshot editor, not in the Photos editing controls.

The page changed before you captured it
Return to the desired page state, wait for it to finish loading, and take a fresh screenshot. A new capture gives the editor the current page content to preview.
Editing a long capture before saving
Crop to a useful section
Use the crop handles in the Full Page preview to remove headers, footers or unrelated sections. This is particularly useful when you need one article section rather than the entire page.
Add context with Markup
Markup lets you annotate the preview before saving. Add an arrow or note to direct a colleague to a specific passage, but inspect the full preview first so annotations do not conceal important content.
Inspect beyond the visible screen
The preview on the right is the check that the capture continues below the initial viewport. Scroll through that preview before saving, especially when the page contains a long table, terms and conditions or a multi-section article.

Privacy and sharing checks
A full-page capture can include sections that were not visible when you initiated the screenshot. Before sending it, inspect the entire preview, crop out unrelated material and use Markup to obscure information you do not want to disclose. Save a PDF to a deliberately chosen Files folder when you need a document you can locate later; save an image to Photos when you need a picture for visual reference.

Is a full-page screenshot always a PDF?
No. The format depends on the command you choose: Save PDF to Files creates a PDF, while Save to Photos creates an image.
Why does Safari show Full Page but another app does not?
