On most Samsung Galaxy phones, take a normal screenshot with Power/Side + Volume Down, then tap Scroll capture (the two downward arrows) in the toolbar. Keep tapping—or press and hold on supported One UI versions—until the complete scrollable page is included. Tap outside the toolbar; Samsung saves the long image in Gallery.
Capture an entire webpage or document
- Open scrollable content. Use a webpage, article, message, PDF-like document or another screen that can move vertically. Scroll capture appears only when Samsung detects additional content below the current screen.
- Take the initial screenshot. Press the Power/Side and Volume Down buttons at the same time, then release them immediately. Holding the buttons can open the power menu or change volume instead of capturing the screen.
- Start the long capture. When the screenshot toolbar appears along the bottom, tap Scroll capture, shown as two downward arrows. Samsung describes this as capturing the current screen and hidden content on an elongated page.
- Extend the image. The phone advances the page and adds the next section. Tap the Scroll capture icon repeatedly for more content. On supported software, press and hold the icon to continue automatically farther down.
- Finish and check it. Tap anywhere outside the toolbar to stop. Open Gallery and inspect the resulting single, tall image before editing or sharing it.
The capture is one image rather than a series of separate screen shots. You can crop, annotate or share it from Gallery like any other screenshot.
Make Scroll capture appear
If the toolbar is missing after a normal screenshot, enable it in Samsung’s settings:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced features.
- Open Screenshots and screen recorder.
- Turn on Show toolbar after capturing.
Some Galaxy models or software releases label this area Screen capture instead of “Screenshots and screen recorder.” The exact wording and location can vary by model, Android/One UI version and wireless carrier.

Two ways to start the first screenshot

Both methods only create the initial screenshot. You still use the same Scroll capture control to extend it.
Why Scroll capture may be unavailable
The page does not scroll
Samsung shows the control only when more content is available below the current view. A home screen, a short settings panel or a page that has already reached its end may produce an ordinary screenshot without the long-capture icon.
The app blocks screenshots
Banking, streaming, enterprise and other protected apps can prevent screen capture for privacy, security or copyright reasons. Android may show a warning, save a black image, or simply refuse the capture. Do not try to bypass an app’s protection; use an export or share function supplied by that app instead.

The post-capture toolbar is disabled
Turn on Show toolbar after capturing (or the equivalent Screen capture setting), then take a new screenshot. Changing the setting after an old screenshot will not add a toolbar to that earlier image.
Software or model differences
Samsung changes labels and feature availability across Galaxy models, Android releases, One UI versions and carriers. If the setting paths above do not match, search Settings for screenshot or consult the support documentation for your exact model and software build.
Quality, length and practical limits
Review the bottom and the joins
Embedded video players, large images, sticky headers and pages that constantly reflow can change how far the phone advances per tap. After saving, zoom through the image in Gallery and check that text is legible, the final section is present and no important line was duplicated or skipped.
Expect resizing on very long pages
Samsung may automatically scale or resize a long screenshot. A tall image can therefore appear smaller than the original screen when opened or shared. For a document that must remain readable, consider capturing shorter sections or using the app’s built-in PDF/export command.

Keep the screen stable
- Wait for images and dynamic content to finish loading before the first capture.
- Close floating chat heads or overlays that would be included in every section.
- Use a reliable orientation and avoid touching links while the phone is extending the image.
- Open the final file in Gallery before deleting the source page.
Troubleshooting checklist

Scroll capture creates a long image. If you need selectable text, use the webpage or document app’s own print, download or PDF export feature instead.
Does Scroll capture work horizontally?
Samsung’s built-in control is intended for additional vertical content on an elongated page. A wide design may be clipped; rotate the phone or use the source app’s export function when horizontal content is essential.

Where are long screenshots stored?
Samsung says the completed image is automatically saved in Gallery, alongside ordinary screenshots. The exact album name can vary by software version.
Why does one tap capture a different amount each time?
Page content affects the advance distance. Embedded players, large images and dynamic layouts can change how much fits in each extension, so inspect the final image rather than relying on a fixed number of taps.
