Fastest method: open the webpage in Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+Shift+S, choose Capture full page, then save or copy the result. This captures the complete webpage, including content below the visible screen. It is different from a Windows full-screen snip, which captures only what is currently displayed.
What “full-page screenshot” means in Windows 11
A full-page screenshot is a single image of an entire webpage, including sections you would normally need to scroll to see. It is useful for documenting a long article, preserving an online receipt, reviewing a landing page, or sharing a page without sending multiple screen captures.
That is not the same as capturing the Windows desktop or the currently visible monitor area. Windows 11’s Snipping Tool can capture a rectangular region, a window, or the full screen currently displayed, but its documented full-screen mode does not scroll through a webpage and stitch together content below the viewport. Use a browser’s webpage screenshot feature when you need off-screen page content.
Capture an entire webpage with Microsoft Edge
Edge has a built-in Screenshot tool that captures the whole webpage without requiring an extension. Microsoft describes the feature as capturing everything at once, including content that would otherwise require scrolling.

- Open the page. Start Microsoft Edge and navigate to the webpage. Wait for the text, images, menus, and other content you want to preserve to load.
- Open Screenshot. Press Ctrl+Shift+S. If the shortcut does not work in your installation, open the Edge menu and look for Screenshot. A page context-menu entry may also be available, depending on the current Edge release and configuration.
- Select the full-page mode. In the Screenshot tool, choose Capture full page. Edge will generate a capture that extends beyond the visible browser window.
- Review the result. Check the generated image for missing sections, unloaded images, or content that appears only after scrolling.
- Save or copy it. Use the controls shown by Edge to save the image to your computer or copy it to the clipboard for pasting into another application.

Before you capture
- Dismiss sign-in dialogs, cookie notices, or temporary menus that you do not want included.
- Allow lazy-loaded images and embedded content time to appear.
- Scroll through important sections once if the site loads them only when they approach the viewport.
- For a page that changes frequently, note the capture date in the filename or accompanying documentation.
Take a full-page screenshot in Firefox
Firefox also provides a built-in webpage screenshot function. It is a useful alternative if Firefox is your primary browser or Edge’s capture has trouble with a particular page.
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty part of the page and select Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Choose Save full page.
- Download the resulting image or choose the clipboard option if you want to paste it elsewhere.
Mozilla documents these controls, including full-page capture, download, and clipboard actions, in Take screenshots in Firefox. The exact appearance of the controls can vary with Firefox updates and operating-system integration.
When Windows Snipping Tool is the right choice
Use Snipping Tool when you need the current screen rather than an entire webpage. Open it from the Start menu or with Windows+Shift+S, then choose the mode that matches your target:

Snipping Tool is convenient for an error message, a dialog box, or a visible browser view. It is not documented as a scrolling webpage capture tool, so it will not automatically add sections below the current viewport.

There is no universal guarantee that either browser will reproduce every dynamic webpage perfectly. Browser behavior depends on how the page handles scrolling, frames, lazy loading, and scripts.
Troubleshoot incomplete or failed captures
The capture ends before the bottom of the page
Let the page finish loading and try again. Then check whether the missing material is inside a separately scrolling panel, iframe, or other embedded region. A browser may capture the document’s main scroll area but not automatically traverse every nested scroll container. If the page loads content only as you scroll, visit the lower sections first and repeat the capture.
Images or cards are blank
Wait for network activity and image placeholders to finish. Some pages defer images until they are near the viewport. Scrolling through the page before selecting the full-page option can trigger those requests.

Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing in Edge
Open the Edge menu and locate Screenshot instead. If the command is absent, check that Edge is current and review any shortcut customization or policy applied by your organization. Menu labels and shortcuts can change between browser releases.
Firefox does not show Take Screenshot
Right-click directly on an unoccupied part of the page, or use Ctrl+Shift+S. A page, embedded document, or enterprise policy may alter the available context-menu entries.
A cookie banner, chat bubble, or popup is included
Close or accept the overlay before capturing. If it reappears, capture after the page reaches its final state, or use a capture service that can remove common overlays before rendering.
The page requires a login
Capture it while authenticated in the browser session that has access. Do not share screenshots containing private account details, payment information, session tokens, or personal data.

The result is extremely tall or difficult to read
Long pages naturally produce large images. Save in the format and resolution offered by the browser, and consider capturing separate logical sections when a single image is impractical for printing or review. A PDF workflow may be more suitable when the goal is pagination rather than one continuous image.

- Verify the source state: dynamic prices, dashboards, and feeds can change between captures.
- Use a descriptive filename: include the site, page purpose, and date.
- Protect sensitive content: redact credentials, private messages, addresses, and financial details before sharing.
- Repeat important captures: compare the result with the live page, especially when content loads asynchronously.
- Automate recurring work: an API is preferable when you need the same URL, viewport, wait condition, or output format on a schedule.
