In Arc for macOS, open the page, press Command-T, type Capture Full Page, and choose that command. Arc captures the complete scrolling page and downloads the image to your configured download folder. The built-in command is the most direct way to screenshot an entire webpage without installing an extension.
Capture an entire webpage in Arc
Arc’s native full-page capture is available through the Command Bar. Use these steps on Arc for macOS:
- Open the webpage you want to save in Arc.
- Press Command-T to open the Command Bar.
- Type Capture Full Page.
- Select Capture Full Page in the results.
- Open Arc’s configured download folder to find the resulting image.
This differs from a normal screen grab: Arc captures content below the visible viewport instead of only the portion currently on screen. Arc’s documentation describes the result as saving to the default download location, while release notes describe the downloaded output as a PNG. Your exact file behavior can vary with Arc’s current version and download settings.
Where to find the full-page command
Command Bar
The Command Bar is the primary route. The command name is exactly Capture Full Page, so search for that phrase rather than “scrolling screenshot” or “page capture.” If no result appears, confirm that the page is open in an Arc tab and that you are using Arc on macOS.

Site Control Center
Recent Arc release notes also document a control in the Site Control Center, accessed from the URL bar. Open that control and click Capture the full page. For pages viewed in Portrait Mode, hold Option while clicking the control; Arc documents this modifier as a way to make Portrait Mode full-page capture easier.
The labels and placement of this secondary control can change between Arc releases. If it is not visible, use the Command Bar workflow, which is the consistently documented method.
Save location and file format
Arc saves the capture according to its download behavior. The Easels documentation says a full-page screenshot goes to your default download location. Check Arc’s download settings or your browser’s normal Downloads folder if you do not see it immediately.
Older Arc release notes call the output a PNG. Treat PNG as the documented format for that release, but check the file extension on your installation because Arc’s UI and export behavior can change. The native command does not present a format picker in the documented workflow.

If the file seems missing
- Open the folder configured for browser downloads.
- Sort by newest first and look for a recently created image.
- Check whether macOS asked you to choose a download location.
- Repeat the command after waiting for the page to finish loading.
Create a keyboard shortcut of your own
If you capture pages frequently, assign a shortcut instead of opening the Command Bar each time:
- Open Arc > Settings > Shortcuts.
- Search for capture.
- Find Capture Full Page.
- Click the button icon beside the command.
- Press the key combination you want to use.
Arc recommends beginning with a modifier such as Shift, Control, Option, or Command. Choose a combination that is not already used by macOS or another Arc action. If the shortcut does nothing, return to this panel and check that the command still has the intended key binding.
What Arc captures—and what it does not guarantee
A full-page capture is a rendered image of the webpage, including content below the initial viewport. It is useful for design reviews, bug reports, documentation, and archiving a visual state of a page.
Arc’s cited help pages establish the command and download behavior, but they do not publish a benchmark for capture speed, maximum page height, or how every type of lazy-loaded content behaves. Pages that continue changing while you capture—such as feeds, live dashboards, or animated ads—may not produce a visually uniform image. For important records, wait for the page to settle, dismiss obstructive overlays, and verify the downloaded image from top to bottom.

Content that loads during scrolling
Some websites request images or sections only when they approach the viewport. A full-page tool may trigger additional loading while it processes the page, but Arc’s documentation does not promise a particular lazy-loading policy. If sections are blank, scroll through the page once first, wait for images to appear, and run Capture Full Page again.
Pages behind sign-in or bot checks
Arc captures what your current tab can display. You must already be signed in when the page requires an account. A bot check, CAPTCHA, consent dialog, or network failure can prevent the page from rendering normally; capture the page only after the check has completed and the intended content is visible.
Arc full-page capture compared with ordinary screen grabs
| Method | Coverage | Typical output or behavior | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arc Capture Full Page | Entire rendered webpage | Downloaded image; PNG is documented in older release notes | One image of a long page |
| macOS viewport screenshot | Only the visible screen or selected region | Separate image of what is currently displayed | A dialog, control, or small area |
| Manual stitched captures | Multiple viewport sections combined by hand | Several files or a manually edited composite | Fallback when a native full-page command is unavailable |
Arc’s native command is preferable when you need one scrolling-page image and are working on macOS. Manual stitching takes more time and can introduce seams, duplicate content, or missed sections.
Platform and version notes
The primary Arc help article explicitly describes this workflow for Arc on macOS. The Easels documentation likewise limits Easels creation and editing to Arc for macOS and discusses Windows limitations in that feature context. Do not assume that the same built-in command exists on Arc for Windows. Check the current Windows interface and release notes before documenting or relying on it in a cross-platform process.

Troubleshooting Arc full-page screenshots
“Capture Full Page” does not appear
- Make sure Arc is running on macOS and a webpage tab is active.
- Press Command-T first; searching in a normal webpage field will not open Arc’s Command Bar.
- Type the complete command name, including “Full Page.”
- Restart Arc and check for an available update if the command remains absent.
The capture contains only the visible viewport
Confirm that you selected Capture Full Page, not a regular macOS region or window screenshot. If the page uses lazy loading, scroll through it once, allow images to finish loading, and capture again.
A cookie banner or popup covers the image
Dismiss the banner or popup in the live tab before starting the capture. A page that changes during capture can also leave an overlay in the result, so wait until the page is stable.
The downloaded file is not where expected
Look in Arc’s configured default download folder and sort by modification time. The documented behavior is a download rather than an automatically opened editor canvas.
The custom shortcut conflicts with another command
Return to Arc > Settings > Shortcuts, remove the conflicting binding, and assign a combination that includes a modifier. Test it with a simple page before using it in a production workflow.

The page is blank or incomplete
Reload the tab, wait for network requests and scripts to finish, and verify that the content is visible before capturing. Private dashboards, expired sessions, blocked resources, and bot checks can all result in an incomplete render. Arc’s documentation does not promise recovery from a failed page load.

For automated captures, a screenshot API can return the page without opening Arc or maintaining a desktop workflow. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
A basic request returns an image directly:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for authentication, output options, and the complete parameter reference. The same request in Python is:
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js:
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo includes full-page capture with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, custom CSS and JavaScript, click-before-capture actions, waits for selectors, delays or network idle, device presets, arbitrary viewports, dark mode, retina scale, PDF output, hidden selectors, request and resource blocking, custom headers and cookies, timezone and geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, chosen cache TTLs, signed image links, asynchronous webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API, and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work for easier migration.
Plans include 1,000 screenshots per month free with no card. Paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots; yearly billing provides two months free, and every feature is available on every plan. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account to get started.
Practical checklist before you capture
- Confirm you are using Arc on macOS.
- Open the exact URL and sign in if necessary.
- Dismiss consent dialogs, popups, and chat panels that should not appear.
- Wait for fonts, images, and dynamic sections to finish loading.
- Run Command-T → Capture Full Page.
- Inspect the downloaded image for missing sections, overlays, or duplicated content.
- For repeatable or automated jobs, use a service with explicit controls and status reporting rather than a manual browser capture.
