To capture more than the part of a webpage currently visible on screen, use your browser’s full-page screenshot feature if it has one. Firefox documents a “Save full page” option, and Microsoft Edge offers full-page capture through its Screenshot tool, though Edge availability can vary by device, market, and browser version. In Chrome, a third-party extension such as GoFullPage is an option; it is not a built-in browser feature. Exact controls can change, so check the current interface and documentation for your installed version.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A regular screenshot records the visible area of a page—the portion currently on screen. A full-page screenshot is intended to include webpage content beyond that viewport, producing a taller image of the page. That is useful when you need to share a complete article, preserve a page for reference, or show content that would otherwise require several separate screenshots.
Full-page capture is not the same as saving a webpage as a file. A screenshot is a visual record; it does not preserve clickable links, page structure, or a guarantee that the text can be edited. It may also be an image rather than a PDF, depending on the browser or tool. If you need searchable text, a particular page layout, or an editable document, check the output format before capturing.
There is no single verified set of steps that applies to every browser, device, and version. The most reliable approach is to use the built-in feature where it is documented, then consider a browser extension if your browser does not provide the result you need.

Capture a full page in Firefox
Mozilla’s support documentation describes a screenshot interface with the control “Save full page.” Selecting it downloads the captured page as an image file. The precise way to open that interface can depend on the Firefox version, so follow the current Mozilla instructions or look for the screenshot control in your installed browser rather than relying on an old shortcut or menu path.

Open the webpage you want to capture in Firefox.

Open Firefox’s screenshot interface using the method documented for your installed version.

Choose Save full page, rather than a visible-area or selected-area capture.

Download the resulting image and open it to check that the page content you needed is present.

If the page is long or changes as it loads, inspect the downloaded image before sharing it. A screenshot is a fixed visual capture, and a page that has not finished displaying the content you need may not produce the result you expect.
Capture a full page in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft documents full-page and selected-area capture through Edge’s Screenshot tool. Microsoft also cautions that feature availability and functionality can vary by device type, market, and browser version. Look for the current Screenshot control in your own Edge installation; if it is absent, the feature may not be available in that environment or may have moved in a later version.

Open the webpage in Edge.

Open the browser’s Screenshot tool using the control available in your current installation.

Select the full-page capture option if it is offered. Do not select a visible-area or selected-area option if you need the whole page.

Save or copy the result using the choices shown by your version of Edge, then inspect the output.
Because Edge’s availability and behavior can differ across devices, markets, and versions, a missing option is not proof that you have overlooked a universal setting. Check Microsoft’s current Edge information for your device and browser build.
Capture a full page in Chrome
The available evidence here does not establish a current official, built-in Chrome procedure, so this guide does not give DevTools steps that may be incorrect for your version. A third-party option is GoFullPage, listed in the Chrome Web Store as a full-page screen capture extension. Its listing is software from an extension provider, not a Chrome-native capture control. The listing’s change log includes an entry dated September 24, 2026; check the current listing for supported features and changes before installing.

After installation, follow the extension’s own current instructions to capture the page.

Open the saved result and verify that it contains the sections you intended to capture.
A separate Chrome Web Store extension listing describes scrolling capture and PNG, JPEG, and PDF export. These are claims made in that listing, not independently verified results. Review that extension’s current listing and permissions if you consider it. Do not assume that every extension can capture every site or that a result will always be seamless.

What about Safari and other browsers?
Exact current official steps for Safari were not verified for this guide. Browser controls also change, and device versions can differ. Check Apple’s current documentation for your Safari version and device before following instructions found elsewhere. The same caution applies to other browsers: confirm that a full-page option exists in the version you use, and distinguish built-in controls from extensions or other third-party software.
If you cannot find a full-page option, first check the browser’s current help or settings rather than assuming that a keyboard shortcut from another version will work. If the browser does not provide the capture you need, use an extension only after reviewing its permissions and publisher, or choose a method that captures the page outside your browser.

For a one-off capture, start with a browser feature already available to you. An extension adds software to the browser, so weigh its stated capabilities against its requested permissions. For repeatable captures in a development workflow, an API can avoid opening a browser interface for each URL, but it requires an API key and a request from your application or script.

A full-page image can be very tall and awkward to read on a phone or in a message. Before sending it, open the file at a useful zoom level and check that the important content is legible. If the image is too large for its destination, use an image editor to resize it or choose a format and dimensions the destination accepts. Preserve the original if you may need to make another version.

Confirm the extent. Check the beginning, middle, and end of the page, not just the top of the image.

Check the format. Verify whether the tool produced an image or PDF before you upload or attach it.

Inspect dynamic content. If the page changes while loading or displays content only after interaction, confirm the capture shows the state you intended.

Consider privacy. A screenshot can reveal account details, personal information, or other content visible on the page. Review it before sharing.

Troubleshooting full-page screenshots
The browser offers only a visible-area capture
Check that you opened the browser’s screenshot interface rather than the operating system’s ordinary screenshot control. Look for a separate full-page choice. If your installed version does not offer one, consult that browser’s current documentation; do not assume instructions for a different version or device apply. In Chrome, a full-page extension is a third-party alternative, not a built-in control.
The full-page option is missing in Edge
Microsoft says Edge Screenshot feature availability and functionality may vary by device type, market, and browser version. Check the current Screenshot control in the installation you are using and consult Microsoft’s current product information. Avoid treating the option as guaranteed on every Edge device.
The result appears incomplete or does not match the page
Compare the file with the live page and identify which portion or state is missing. The browser and extension documentation cited here does not establish that every site or page state can be captured seamlessly. If the page relies on content that appears only after scrolling, a click, or a delay, verify that the content was present before you saved the result. If it was not, follow the browser or extension’s current instructions and try again; do not assume a repeat capture will fix a site-specific limitation.
You are unsure whether to install an extension
Read the current store listing, publisher information, permissions, and output details before installation. Extension listings describe their own capabilities and should not be treated as independent proof that a tool works on every site. If you do not want to add an extension, use a documented browser feature where available or an API if you are building a repeatable developer workflow.
