The quickest way to capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge is built in: press Ctrl+Shift+S, choose Capture full page, review the result, and copy or save it. You do not need an extension for a one-off capture.
If you specifically need an extension that exports a long page as an image or PDF, install GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture from Microsoft Edge Add-ons. Its toolbar command (or Alt+Shift+P) captures the page in segments, opens the finished capture in a new tab, and provides image and PDF downloads.
Use Edge’s built-in full-page capture first
Microsoft Edge’s Screenshot tool is the shortest path for most pages. It captures content below the visible viewport without requiring you to scroll manually, and it includes markup tools before you copy or save the result.
- Open the webpage you want to save in Edge.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- In the Screenshot command bar, select Capture full page.
- Wait while Edge collects the content below the current viewport.
- Use the pen or touch markup controls if you need to draw, highlight, or annotate.
- Choose the command to copy the result or save it to your computer.
This method is best when you want a quick, annotated copy and do not want to grant an add-on access to pages.

Capture a full page with a Microsoft Edge extension
Install GoFullPage
- Open Microsoft Edge Add-ons and search for GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture.
- Open the listing, review its publisher information and permissions, and select the install button.
- After installation, open Edge’s Extensions menu and pin GoFullPage so its icon remains visible on the toolbar.
Run the capture
- Navigate to the page you want to capture and let its visible content finish loading.
- Select the pinned GoFullPage icon, or press Alt+Shift+P.
- Leave the page open while the extension scrolls through it and captures the page in segments.
- When processing finishes, Edge opens the assembled result in a new tab.
- Use the export controls in that tab to download an image or a PDF.
Segmented capture is important for long documents: if the complete page is too large for Edge to keep as one image, GoFullPage can split the result into separate images instead of silently discarding the bottom of the page.

Choose the built-in tool for a fast, no-install capture or when markup is part of your workflow. Choose GoFullPage when a dedicated extension action, PDF export, or large-page splitting is more important.

Prepare the page before capturing
Wait for content that appears after scrolling
Many pages reveal images or sections only as you scroll. Give the page time to load before starting, and inspect the finished capture from top to bottom. If a section is still missing, reload the page, wait longer, and run the capture again.
Check overlays and fixed elements
A cookie dialog, newsletter form, or chat widget can cover part of a page. Dismiss the overlay when possible before using either method. If you need a clean, unattended result, use a capture service that can remove those elements before rendering.
Capture the correct state
Sign in first if the page requires an account, select the intended tab or filter, and confirm that the address bar shows the exact URL. A full-page tool captures the state that is currently available in the tab; it does not infer another account, filter, or date range.

Troubleshoot incomplete or unusable captures
The shortcut does nothing
- Click the webpage first so Edge has focus, then press Ctrl+Shift+S again.
- If another application or browser feature uses the same shortcut, open the Screenshot command from Edge’s browser controls and choose Capture full page there.
- For GoFullPage, verify that the extension is installed, enabled, and pinned, then use its toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+P.
The bottom of the page is missing
- Check whether the page loads content only after scrolling; wait for images and sections to appear, then repeat the capture.
- For an extremely long page, expect GoFullPage to produce multiple images rather than one oversized file.
- If the native result still ends early, capture logical sections separately or use an automated renderer with explicit wait and full-page controls.
The image contains a cookie banner, popup, or chat box
Close the element before starting and confirm that it stays closed while the page is being captured. For unattended jobs, browser extensions are not always the right layer because the overlay may return or require an interaction that cannot be repeated reliably.
The PDF or image looks different from the tab
- Confirm that the page finished loading before you started.
- Capture after selecting the required theme, language, account, or filter.
- Reload once if the page contains partially rendered components, then wait for them to settle before trying again.
The extension asks for more access than expected
Read the current Edge Add-ons permissions and publisher details before accepting. If the requested access is not appropriate for your use, use Edge’s built-in Screenshot feature instead or choose another listing after checking its permissions and update status.
