To stop your next PlayStation Plus charge, cancel the subscription in Account Management, on PS5, or on PS4. Cancellation turns off future renewal; your benefits generally remain available until the end of the paid period. Use the steps below for the device you have, then check the next payment date shown in your account.
Cancel PlayStation Plus in a web browser
- Go to PlayStation’s cancellation instructions and sign in to Account Management.
- Select Subscription from the left menu.
- Select Cancel Subscription next to PlayStation Plus and follow any on-screen prompts.
Cancel on a PS5
- Open Settings.
- Go to Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Select PlayStation Plus > Cancel Subscription and confirm as prompted.
Cancel on a PS4
- Open PlayStation Plus.
- Choose Manage Membership > Subscription > Cancel Subscription.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.
These menu paths are from Sony’s English PlayStation Support instructions for the UK locale. Menu wording can vary by account or region; if a label differs, use the subscription-management options shown in your PlayStation account or consult the support page for your locale.
What happens after you cancel
Cancellation stops the subscription from renewing; it does not normally end access immediately. Sony says your benefits continue through the end of the subscription period you have already paid for. PlayStation’s US cancellation policy describes the timing this way: “When you do this your subscription will continue until the next payment becomes due, at which point it will end.” That policy statement applies to the US; check the policy for your own country or region for local details.
When the paid period expires, Sony says you lose access to PlayStation Plus benefits, including monthly games claimed through the subscription, online storage, and online multiplayer. Redeemed Plus packs and avatars remain yours, as do purchases you made at a Plus discount. If you change your mind before the next payment date, Sony says you can choose Reactivate Subscription to keep the subscription active.

Cancellation does not automatically mean a refund
Turning off renewal is different from requesting money back for a payment already made. PlayStation’s US cancellation policy and US PS Plus usage terms say that stopping future fees does not refund prior payments. Refund eligibility and request procedures depend on the applicable local policy and the details of the purchase, so consult the PlayStation Store cancellation policy for your country or region or contact PlayStation Support. The linked policy is the US version; use your local policy for local refund rules.
