Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo stop Paramount+ or Max from renewing, first identify the company billing the subscription, then cancel through that company’s account controls. Complete the confirmation steps and check the account for a canceled status or expiration date; deleting the app or simply stopping playback does not end a subscription.
First, find out who bills your subscription
The service you watch may not be the company collecting payment. A subscription can be billed directly by Paramount+ or Max, through an app store or retail platform, or as part of an internet, mobile, TV, or membership package. You generally need to cancel with the biller, not just in the streaming app.

Find the biller for Max
Sign in at max.com/subscription, or open the Subscription page from your Max profile. Check the billing company shown there. If you cannot access the account screen, review the payment statement or ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider whether Max is included in a package. A missing cancellation option may mean another company controls billing. See Max’s instructions for finding who bills you.
Find the biller for Paramount+
Check your Paramount+ account and payment statement to determine whether you subscribed directly or through a platform such as Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku. The account is the best place to confirm; a statement descriptor can help identify the company to contact. Paramount+ says third-party subscriptions must be canceled through that provider’s process. Its cancellation help page includes examples and links for alternate billing routes.

Cancel through the company that bills you
Paramount+ billed directly
- Sign in to the Paramount+ account associated with the subscription.
- Go to paramountplus.com/account and follow the cancellation controls shown for your account.
- Complete the confirmation flow, then check the account for its cancellation status or end date.
Paramount+ billed by another company
Open the subscription or membership controls for the platform that bills you and cancel there. For example, use the relevant Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku account. Menu names and steps differ by platform, device, and location, so follow the current instructions from the biller rather than assuming the Paramount+ account page can cancel it.
Max billed directly
- Sign in and open max.com/subscription.
- Select Cancel Your Subscription.
- Continue through the prompts and confirm the cancellation.
If that option is not present, use the billing company listed on the Subscription page to find its cancellation controls. Max’s cancellation instructions also cover Apple and Google Play and describe other third-party routes. Exact options can vary by location.

Max billed by a provider or platform
Cancel through the provider or platform that owns the billing relationship, such as an app store, retail platform, or TV, internet, or mobile provider. Check that company’s subscription controls or contact its support team. If Max is part of a bundle, confirm which service or membership you are changing before proceeding; canceling the entire bundle could affect services you intend to keep.
Verify cancellation and check when access ends
Do not treat an attempted click as proof that renewal stopped. Look for a canceled status, an expiration date, or a confirmation email, and keep the confirmation. For direct Max billing, Max says that seeing Resume Your Subscription instead of Cancel Your Subscription indicates the subscription was canceled. Its account page may also show the date access ends.

Cancellation usually stops future renewal rather than ending access immediately, but the displayed end date and the biller’s terms control. Max says canceled subscribers can keep streaming until the paid billing period expires. Paramount+’s US terms say direct cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period; a trial ends when the trial period ends. Third-party billing rules may differ. Check the date shown by your biller.
If you are charged after canceling
- Confirm cancellation completed. Check the service account or the platform/provider account where you canceled. If it still shows an upcoming renewal, contact that biller to finish or troubleshoot the cancellation.
- Match the charge to its biller. Review the statement descriptor and the subscription’s billing details. Contact the company that processed the charge about a disputed or unexpected payment.
- Check other accounts. Search other email addresses or platform accounts you may have used to sign up. Max lists multiple accounts and an active subscription as possible reasons for a post-cancellation charge.
- Compare the cancellation date with renewal. Some providers require cancellation before a cutoff ahead of the next billing period. Max notes that some may require at least 24 hours’ notice, but that is not a universal deadline; check the rule for your particular plan and biller.
- Check any bundle carefully. Max may be included through a provider without appearing as a separate line item. Ask the provider what the package includes and how to remove Max without canceling other services you want to retain.
A charge after cancellation does not by itself establish that you are owed a refund. Refund policies and legal rights depend on the biller, plan, and location. Paramount+’s US terms generally exclude refunds of fees already paid, subject to applicable legal and terms-based exceptions; ask the company that billed you about your specific charge.

What to remember about renewal and refunds
Paramount+’s US terms state that a subscription automatically continues at the interval selected during signup and is charged at the then-current price, including applicable taxes, unless canceled before the current subscription period ends. The cited terms are US-specific; cancellation controls, deadlines, charges, and refund rights can differ by country, plan, and billing company. Use the subscription screen and your actual biller’s current instructions as the authority for your account.
