To change a YouTube Premiere’s time, open YouTube Studio, go to Content, select the video, then use Edit > Visibility to change its schedule and save. To stop the scheduled public release while keeping the upload, change its visibility to Private and verify the saved setting in Studio. YouTube documents changing scheduled publish times, but its Premiere help does not give a separate, explicit cancellation procedure—so treating Private as the way to stop a Premiere is an inference from YouTube’s general scheduling guidance.
Reschedule a YouTube Premiere
YouTube’s documented workflow for changing a scheduled video’s publish time applies through its scheduling controls. In Studio, find the Premiere and edit its visibility and schedule:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Content from the left menu.
- Select the scheduled Premiere video.
- Choose Edit > Visibility.
- In the schedule controls, set the new date and time, then save or schedule the change. YouTube’s instructions say to ensure the video’s visibility is Private, open EDIT DRAFT, and choose the new time under Schedule.
Labels can vary with the video’s interface state. If you do not see the exact wording, look for the visibility and scheduling controls for that video. Follow YouTube’s instructions for changing a scheduled video’s publish time.
Stop the scheduled public release
YouTube’s Premiere instructions do not describe a dedicated “cancel Premiere” button or cancellation procedure. Its general scheduled-publishing guidance describes a scheduled video as private before publication and explains how to manage its visibility. Based on that guidance, changing the video to Private and saving is the reasonable way to stop the scheduled public release while retaining the upload.

- In Studio, open Content and select the scheduled Premiere.
- Open its visibility controls and change the visibility to Private.
- Save the change, then return to the video in Studio and confirm it is no longer scheduled for public release.
This is an inference from YouTube’s general scheduled-publishing workflow, not a cancellation instruction stated on its Premiere page. If you only want to postpone the event, reschedule it instead. Deleting the video is a separate, destructive action and is not needed to stop an ordinary scheduled release. See YouTube’s guidance on scheduled publishing and Premieres.
What viewers may notice
A scheduled Premiere has a public watch page that viewers can share and visit before the event; they can set a reminder, comment, or chat. YouTube recommends scheduling at least 24 hours ahead to give audiences around the world a chance to see the thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. Its official help does not establish whether changing the time preserves the watch-page URL or existing reminders, or whether viewers receive a notification about the change. Reschedule after a Community Guidelines strike
If a channel has a Community Guidelines strike, YouTube says a Premiere will not publish during the penalty period. It is set to Private for that period, and the creator must reschedule it after the freeze ends. This is a platform restriction, not proof that the creator manually cancelled the Premiere. Check Studio and YouTube’s Premiere guidance before choosing a new time.

- Upload the video.
- Choose Schedule and enter a date and time.
- Select Set as Premiere.
- Configure countdown options if you want them.
- Choose Done or Schedule to finish.
