To cancel a DoorDash order placed by voice, manage the active order in the DoorDash app or on DoorDash.com: open the order, select Help, choose Cancel Order, and follow the prompts. To change an order, open its Help options and request an adjustment or chat with support. DoorDash’s reviewed U.S. guidance does not document a separate voice-specific process, so use the order-management controls rather than relying on a voice command.
Cancel the active DoorDash order
Act promptly: the available cancellation controls and any refund or credit depend on the order’s progress. DoorDash’s U.S. instructions give these routes:
In the DoorDash app
- Open Orders and select the active order.
- Tap Help. If the order details show a Cancel Order button, you can use that instead.
- Choose Cancel Order and follow the prompts to submit the request.
On DoorDash.com
- Choose Order, then Orders, and open the active order.
- Select Help, then Cancel Order.
- Follow the prompts to submit the request.
These are the general order-management instructions in DoorDash’s cancellation help page. The page does not describe a distinct cancellation flow for orders placed by voice.
Request a change, such as adding or removing an item
DoorDash says an adjustment can be requested if the restaurant has not processed the order. An adjustment is a request, not a guarantee that the order can be changed.

- Open the current order and tap Help.
- If available, choose Make adjustments to this order, describe the change, and submit it.
- If that option is missing, choose Chat with Support and ask for the change.
On the website
- Open Help for the current order.
- Choose Make adjustments to this order if it is available, then describe and submit the requested change.
- If you cannot request an adjustment there, use Chat with Support.
DoorDash’s order-adjustment instructions make restaurant processing the relevant condition. If the order has already been processed or the adjustment option is unavailable, contact support promptly.
Will you get a refund if you cancel?
Submitting a cancellation request and receiving a refund or credit are separate outcomes. DoorDash says eligibility depends on the order’s status and that refund or credit decisions are at its discretion and subject to its Consumer Terms. Its general guidance for orders that are not late is:

If you cannot cancel or the voice order is missing
DoorDash’s duplicate-order help page says an accidental order can be cancelled through self-help, but that self-help route will not allow cancellation after the merchant has confirmed the order. If the order does not appear in your account, the cancellation option is unavailable, or the self-help route fails, contact DoorDash support through the app. DoorDash’s U.S. duplicate-order page also lists phone support at 855-431-0459; its U.S. order support category says chat and call support are available 24/7.

DoorDash’s “I accidentally placed a duplicate order” help page states: “If you placed an order by accident you can cancel the order through DoorDash’s self-help tool. If the merchant has already confirmed the order, however, you will not be able to cancel the order.”

The reviewed DoorDash guidance does not specify which voice-ordering methods it covers or document a special command for cancelling or changing an order through a voice assistant. It also does not establish that every voice channel follows the same workflow. Once an order is placed, use the live order’s Help controls in the app or on the website; if it is not visible or those controls do not work, contact support.
