To buy or sell cryptocurrency on Binance.US, first confirm that your state is supported and complete Basic Verification. Then you can use the simple Buy Crypto screen for a quoted purchase or sale, or Advanced Trading for market and limit orders. USD funding and cash withdrawals are not available in every state, and an ACH-funded purchase can be withdrawn only after Binance.US’s seven-day hold.
This guide explains eligibility, verification, funding, buying, selling, advanced orders, fees, state restrictions, and alternatives when direct USD services are unavailable.
Check whether Binance.US supports your state
State eligibility is the first gate. Binance.US maintains a current list of supported and unsupported locations. An unsupported location cannot complete registration and verification, so check the live list before creating an account.

What “crypto-only” means
Kansas and Wisconsin are listed as crypto-only states. Residents can use crypto services, but they cannot deposit U.S. dollars or link a bank account for USD funding and withdrawals. In those states, available functions include depositing and withdrawing cryptocurrency, converting between supported assets, trading, and staking. Purchases can use USDT or an existing USD balance, but you cannot add new USD through a bank connection.

State rules, available assets, networks, limits, and payment methods can change. Recheck the state list and the funding options displayed in your account immediately before making a transfer.
Create and verify your Binance.US account
Registration
- Create an account with your email address and a password.
- Confirm the email message sent by Binance.US.
- Enable SMS authentication when prompted. This adds a phone-based security step to account access and transactions.
Basic Verification requirements
Basic Verification is required for buying, selling, trading, and converting cryptocurrency. Binance.US asks for:
- Your legal name.
- Your date of birth.
- Your current residential address. A post-office box is not accepted.
- The last four digits of your Social Security number.
Enter the information exactly as it appears on your identity and financial records. A mismatch, incomplete address, or unsupported state can prevent verification from completing.

Advanced Verification
Advanced Verification adds an identity document and facial verification. Accepted documents include a driver’s license, state identification card, or passport. Advanced status can unlock higher bank-transfer limits and access to over-the-counter (OTC) trading.
You do not need Advanced Verification merely to use Advanced Trading: Binance.US says Advanced Trading is available to all verified users, including users who have passed only Basic Verification. Advanced Verification is useful when your planned transfer size or OTC needs exceed Basic limits.
Fund the account before buying
USD funding where it is available
In states with USD services, open the funding or payment selector in your account and choose one of the bank-transfer or other payment methods currently displayed for you. Availability depends on your state, verification level, account status, and Binance.US’s current payment integrations.
The Buy Crypto flow can draw from a USD balance or, where supported, from USDT. Review the selected source before confirming; choosing a crypto balance is different from initiating a bank-funded purchase.

ACH purchases and the withdrawal hold
Binance.US states that cryptocurrency bought with an ACH deposit can be used immediately for crypto purchases. However, withdrawals are subject to a seven-day hold. The hold applies to withdrawing the purchased funds from Binance.US; it is not a promise that a bank transfer will settle in seven days after the hold ends. Check the withdrawal screen for the release date and any additional account restrictions.
Funding in crypto-only states
If you live in Kansas or Wisconsin, do not attempt to link a bank account for a USD deposit. Use a crypto deposit from a wallet or another exchange, or use USDT if it is available to your account. Binance.US says crypto-only users can deposit, withdraw, convert, trade, and stake supported crypto even when USD services are unavailable.
Buy or sell with the simple Buy Crypto flow
The Buy Crypto feature is the quickest route when you want a previewed quote instead of an order-book interface. It supports buying, selling, and converting cryptocurrencies.
On the mobile app
- Tap Buy or Sell.
- Select the cryptocurrency you want to purchase or sell.
- Enter the amount. For a purchase, this is normally a dollar amount; for a sale, choose the asset amount or the cash value presented by the app.
- Tap Preview to see the quoted price, fees, and the amount you will receive or deliver.
- Select the displayed payment source for a purchase or payout balance for a sale.
- Review every field and confirm.
On the website
- Click Buy Crypto.
- Choose Buy or Sell.
- Select the token.
- Enter the transaction amount.
- Review the preview, quoted price, and fees.
- Choose the available payment method or payout balance.
- Confirm the transaction.
After confirmation, open transaction history to see whether the order is successful or still processing. Do not submit a second order simply because the first one is processing; check the status and your balances first.

Buy Crypto presents a quote designed to lock in the displayed price for the confirmation step. The quoted result includes the feature’s spread and any applicable fees. The exact amount of crypto depends on the selected asset, current market conditions, payment method, and the quote shown at that moment.
What happens when you sell
A sale converts the selected cryptocurrency into the payout balance shown in the preview, typically USD where USD services are enabled. Confirm the destination balance and the net amount after fees. A successful sale changes your Binance.US balance; withdrawing that balance to a bank is a separate action subject to state, account, and hold restrictions.
Use Advanced Trading for market or limit orders
Advanced Trading is appropriate when you want to interact with the order book rather than accept the Buy Crypto quote. It supports market and limit orders and is available to verified users, including Basic-verified users.

Market orders
A market order executes against available liquidity at the best prices currently offered in the order book. The final fill can differ from the price you first see because the market can move and the order may consume several price levels. Market orders prioritize execution over a specific price.
Limit orders
A limit order lets you specify the highest price you will pay when buying or the lowest price you will accept when selling. It executes only when matching liquidity reaches your limit. A limit order can remain unfilled if the market never reaches your price.
Place an Advanced Trading order
- Open the trading screen.
- Select the trading pair, such as the crypto-to-USD or crypto-to-crypto pair currently available to your account.
- Choose Buy or Sell.
- Select Market or Limit.
- Enter the amount. For a limit order, enter your limit price as well.
- Check the estimated total, available balance, and order details.
- Submit the order and monitor its status in open orders or order history.
Binance.US documents a minimum Advanced Trading order value equivalent to $10. The equivalent is calculated in the selected pair’s currency, so a crypto-crypto order must meet the same dollar-equivalent threshold. The minimum is separate from any network minimum for later withdrawals.

The cheaper-looking route is not guaranteed to produce a lower total cost. Compare the complete preview for Buy Crypto with the applicable Advanced Trading fees and the spread between the order-book prices you can actually fill.
Sell crypto and withdraw cash
Sell the asset
Use the Buy Crypto Sell flow or place a sell order in Advanced Trading. In either case, verify the asset, amount, destination balance, and net proceeds before confirming.

Withdraw an available USD balance
- Open the withdrawal screen and choose USD if it is available for your state and account.
- Select the bank or payment destination currently offered.
- Enter the amount and review the displayed fee, limits, and any hold or eligibility message.
- Confirm the withdrawal and track its status in transaction history.
USD withdrawals require a state and account that support USD services. Kansas and Wisconsin users cannot withdraw USD through a linked bank account because those states are crypto-only. An ACH-funded purchase can also be subject to Binance.US’s seven-day withdrawal hold, so a sale of recently purchased crypto may not be withdrawable immediately.
Withdraw cryptocurrency instead
When cash withdrawal is unavailable or you prefer to keep the asset, choose the cryptocurrency withdrawal option. Match the destination network exactly with the receiving wallet or exchange. A network mismatch can make funds unrecoverable. Review the network fee, minimum, and address carefully on the confirmation screen; these values can change with network conditions.

Third-party cash route through Transak
Binance.US documents Transak as a third-party route for users who need an alternative cash workflow. The documented pattern is:
- Use a supported card or payment method with Transak to buy USDT.
- Use the USDT on Binance.US for the intended crypto activity.
- Sell USDT through Transak when you want a bank withdrawal.
The cited Transak FAQ says this service does not support New York, Hawaii, Louisiana, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or North Carolina. That restriction is separate from Binance.US state eligibility. Check both services’ current availability, identity requirements, fees, limits, and settlement terms before sending funds.

There is no single universal Binance.US fee. The amount you pay depends on the transaction type, your VIP level, the trading pair, payment method, network conditions, and market volatility.
Buy Crypto pricing
Buy Crypto includes a spread in the quoted price. The spread compensates for the convenience of a locked preview price and means the quote can differ from the underlying order-book price. Review the preview’s total cost and final amount before approval.
Advanced Trading pricing
Advanced Trading interacts directly with the open order book and does not apply the Buy Crypto spread. Trading fees still depend on the applicable fee schedule, including VIP level and pair. A market order can also receive different fills as liquidity changes.
Other charges to inspect
- Deposit fees, if any, for the selected funding method.
- Withdrawal fees and minimums for USD or cryptocurrency.
- Payment-method charges imposed by a bank or third-party provider.
- Network fees that vary with blockchain conditions.
Binance.US displays applicable deposit, withdrawal, payment-method, and network charges for review before approval. Treat the preview as the authoritative amount for that transaction, not a fee remembered from an earlier order.
Supported assets and changing availability
Binance.US describes more than 190 supported cryptocurrencies in its 2026 general guide. Its 2026 crypto-only-state guide refers to more than 160 cryptocurrencies available to users in those states. These figures describe different scopes, so do not assume that every asset in the broader catalog is available in a crypto-only state or for every trading pair.

Before depositing, confirm that the exact asset and network are listed for your account. Asset support, network support, staking availability, trading pairs, and state permissions can change without changing your account interface in the same way.
Common problems and how to resolve them
“I cannot register or verify”
- Check that your state appears on the current supported list.
- Use your legal name, current residential address, date of birth, and correct last four SSN digits.
- Do not enter a post-office box as the residential address.
- If Advanced Verification fails, use a valid driver’s license, state ID, or passport and complete facial verification in good lighting.
“My bank option is missing”
Bank funding is unavailable in crypto-only states and may also be unavailable while verification or account reviews are incomplete. Check your state, verification level, and the funding methods currently displayed instead of attempting repeated bank links.
“My purchase succeeded but I cannot withdraw”
If the purchase used ACH funding, check whether the seven-day withdrawal hold is still active. A completed purchase can be available for additional crypto purchases while withdrawals remain restricted.

Market orders consume available liquidity and can fill across multiple order-book levels. Use a limit order when controlling the maximum buy price or minimum sell price matters more than immediate execution.
“My limit order is still open”
A limit order is not guaranteed to fill. Verify the selected pair, side, amount, and limit price, then decide whether to leave it open, cancel it, or submit a new order at a price that matches current market conditions.
“My crypto withdrawal has not arrived”
Check that the receiving address and network matched exactly, then inspect the withdrawal status and transaction identifier shown by Binance.US. Network congestion, confirmations, or a destination platform’s own crediting policy can delay availability. Contact support with the transaction details if the status indicates completion but the recipient has not credited the funds.
A practical pre-confirmation checklist
- State and account eligibility are confirmed.
- Basic Verification is complete; Advanced Verification is complete if your limits or OTC access require it.
- The asset, pair, and network are supported for your account.
- You selected the correct source balance or payment method.
- You reviewed the quoted price, spread where applicable, fees, and net amount.
- You understand whether the order is an instant quote, market order, or limit order.
- The $10-equivalent minimum is met for Advanced Trading.
- Any ACH seven-day withdrawal hold is accounted for.
- The destination address and network match for a crypto withdrawal.
Keeping information current
State support, cryptocurrency lists, networks, fee tiers, spreads, limits, and third-party availability are volatile. Before each significant transaction, consult Binance.US’s live state list, supported-asset listings, fee schedule, and Profile & Limits page. Recheck the transaction preview immediately before approval because the displayed quote and network charge are time-sensitive.
