Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is listed by Nintendo as a digital Nintendo Switch game released on October 15, 2026. To get it, connect your Switch to the internet, open Nintendo eShop, select the Nintendo Account that should own the game, search for the exact title, choose the available edition, select Proceed to Purchase, complete payment, and let the automatic download finish. Nintendo estimates the download at 4.2 GB, so check storage before confirming.

What you need before buying

The purchase process is straightforward, but three checks prevent most problems:

  • An internet-connected Nintendo Switch. The console must be online to access Nintendo eShop and download the game.
  • A Nintendo Account linked to the Switch user profile. Nintendo eShop access requires a Nintendo Account. The software purchase is associated with the account selected when you enter eShop, so choose the account that should own and redownload the game.
  • Enough free storage. Nintendo lists an estimated Switch download size of 4.2 GB. Nintendo also warns that an additional storage device may be required depending on the console hardware.

Nintendo’s listing gives Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse an October 15, 2026 release date. Because storefront availability, tax, payment options, downloadable-content packaging, and prices can vary by country, check the Nintendo store page for your account’s region immediately before purchase.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you are buying for a family console, decide in advance which Nintendo Account should own the game. The account selected in eShop is the account Nintendo uses for the transaction and future redownloads. Other profiles may be able to play according to Nintendo’s console-account rules, but the purchase itself is not transferred to a different account.

Which Belmont’s Curse edition should you buy?

Nintendo lists a standard digital product and a separate Midnight Edition. The exact contents and price shown to you depend on the regional product page. Review the edition name and the included-content section before selecting Proceed to Purchase.

Listing Format What the official listings establish Storage consideration Choose it when
Standard edition Digital Nintendo Switch software Nintendo lists the game as a digital Switch product. The listing also shows a Bonus Contents Pack and a Digital Sound & Art Gallery DLC entry, each dated October 15, 2026. The regional page determines whether either item is bundled or sold separately. Nintendo’s estimated download size for the Switch game is 4.2 GB. You want the regular digital release and only the content shown as included on your regional page.
Midnight Edition Separate product listing; check the regional page for its exact format and contents Konami describes a Midnight product separately from the standard product. The regional Nintendo listing is the authority for the edition name, price, and any included bonuses. Confirm the download information on the Midnight Edition page rather than assuming it is identical to the standard listing. You specifically want the Midnight Edition contents displayed in your store and have checked what is included.
Physical release Cartridge-based product Konami states that the physical version requires an additional download from the online store. A cartridge does not necessarily eliminate downloads; keep internet access and free storage available. You prefer a physical copy and accept the required additional download. This is separate from buying the digital eShop listing.

Use five comparisons when deciding: the content listed as included, whether the product is digital or physical, the price in your country, the download and storage requirement, and whether you specifically want the separate bonus pack or gallery. Do not compare a price from another country or retailer with your eShop checkout total; tax and currency treatment can change the final amount.

How to interpret the bonus entries

The standard Nintendo page displays a Bonus Contents Pack and a Digital Sound & Art Gallery DLC listing with the same October 15, 2026 release date. Do not infer from the entries alone that they are automatically included. Open the edition page in your country and read the purchase summary: it should identify whether each item is bundled, an optional add-on, or unavailable in that storefront.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you buy the standard game first and later decide you want an add-on, return to the game’s official eShop page and inspect the DLC entry. The receipt and product page should make clear whether you purchased the base game only or a package containing additional content. Keep the edition names visible while checking out so that a similarly named listing does not cause an accidental duplicate purchase.

Download size, storage and Switch 2 compatibility

Plan around Nintendo’s 4.2 GB estimate

Nintendo estimates the Switch download at 4.2 GB. Konami’s 2026 product specification lists the Nintendo Switch version as 4 GB. These figures are close but not identical, so use Nintendo’s 4.2 GB estimate when checking available space. They are published estimates, not a promise that the final installed footprint will never change.

Nintendo also notes that information such as download size may not be finalized at the time of a preorder. If the store page changes its size estimate, use the current figure shown there. Leave additional room for normal system-management overhead rather than trying to fill the last few gigabytes of the console’s storage.

The 4.2 GB figure applies to Nintendo’s listed Switch software. It does not tell you the total free space your console needs for every game, update, screenshot, video, or other downloadable content already installed. Check the available-space figure immediately before purchase and again if the store displays a revised estimate.

When a microSD card is needed

Check free space in the Switch’s System Settings before buying. If the available space is below the current estimate, install a Nintendo Switch-compatible microSD card or free space first. The card must be inserted and recognized by the console before the download can use it. The exact card capacity you need depends on what else is installed; the game’s 4.2 GB estimate alone does not determine a complete card-size recommendation.

A microSD card is a storage solution, not a substitute for an internet connection. You still need to complete the eShop transaction and download the required files. If you use a card, confirm that the Switch reports it as available before starting the purchase, then check the HOME Menu progress indicator after checkout.

What “Supported” means for Switch 2

Nintendo’s page marks the listed software as “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That indicates compatibility with Nintendo Switch 2, not a separately identified native Switch 2 edition. Do not pay for a supposed Switch 2-specific version unless Nintendo shows a distinct product page and edition name in your region.

For a Switch 2 owner, the same checks still apply: select the correct Nintendo Account, verify the regional listing, compare the edition contents, and use the download-size information shown by Nintendo. The compatibility label does not establish different graphics, performance, or a separate entitlement, so avoid assuming benefits that the product page does not state.

Buy and download the game on the Switch console

  1. Connect the console to the internet. From the HOME Menu, open your network settings if necessary and confirm that the Switch is online.
  2. Launch Nintendo eShop. Select the eShop icon on the HOME Menu.
  3. Select the purchasing account. Choose the Nintendo Account that should own Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. Nintendo uses this account for the transaction and later redownloads.
  4. Search the exact title. Enter Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse in the eShop search field. Open the official result, not an unrelated search suggestion.
  5. Check the product page. Confirm the title, the October 15, 2026 release date shown by Nintendo, the edition name, the listed download information, compatibility note, and any bonus-content or DLC text.
  6. Choose an edition. Select the standard digital product or the Midnight Edition that appears in your region. If the page presents separate bonus-content purchases, decide whether you want them before continuing.
  7. Select Proceed to Purchase. Nintendo may label the preceding button Continue depending on the page or region. Follow the purchase button shown on the product page.
  8. Choose a payment source. Use an existing eShop balance, add funds with an accepted payment method or eShop card, or use another option Nintendo presents for that title and region. Available methods are not universal, so rely on the choices displayed on your account.
  9. Review and confirm. Check the account, edition, price, tax, and included content in the final confirmation screen. Confirm only when those details match what you intended to buy.
  10. Wait for the automatic download. Nintendo says the download starts automatically after a successful purchase. Return to the HOME Menu to see the game icon and its progress indicator.
  11. Launch after installation. Keep the Switch online until the download completes, then open the game icon from the HOME Menu.

Do not close the transaction screen until Nintendo confirms the purchase. If the payment succeeds but the HOME Menu does not immediately show the icon, wait briefly, return to HOME, and check the download queue before attempting another purchase. This helps avoid buying the same edition twice.

Buy from a phone or computer

Nintendo also provides a web purchase flow in eligible regions. Nintendo’s website process requires a Nintendo Account and prior eShop access on a Switch.

  1. Use a browser to sign in to the Nintendo store associated with your Nintendo Account.
  2. Search for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse and open the official product page.
  3. Verify that the displayed country or region matches the Nintendo Account you intend to use. Regional prices, taxes, payment methods, edition names, and bonus packaging can differ.
  4. Select the standard digital product or Midnight Edition shown for your region, then review the included-content details.
  5. Complete the purchase with the payment option offered by Nintendo. If the site asks for a target console, select the Switch that should receive the software.
  6. Leave that console connected to the internet and signed in to the purchasing Nintendo Account. In eligible cases, Nintendo sends the purchase to the selected console and the download begins automatically.

If you cannot select a target console or the web store does not offer the game, use the console eShop instead. The web option is region- and account-dependent, whereas the console flow is the reliable fallback.

Samsung microSD Express Card – 256GB for Nintendo Switch™ 2
  • Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
  • Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.

Before paying on the web, verify the console shown in Nintendo’s target-console selector. A purchase sent to another Switch will not begin on the device sitting beside you until that device is selected or the purchasing account redownloads the software. Keep the target console online so Nintendo can deliver the entitlement and start the download.

What happens after purchase

The purchase is tied to the selected account

Nintendo associates purchased software with the Nintendo Account used during checkout. If several people use the Switch, remember which profile entered eShop. Selecting a different profile later can make the game appear unavailable for that user even though the purchase succeeded.

If you replace the console, sign in to Nintendo eShop with the same purchasing account and use its purchased-software or redownload area. A new console does not turn the original purchase into a new account entitlement; the account that paid remains the key to redownloading.

The download appears on the HOME Menu

After confirmation, the game icon appears on the HOME Menu with a progress indicator. You can continue using other software while the download runs, provided the console remains connected and has enough free storage. Opening the icon before installation finishes will not launch the complete game.

The HOME Menu indicator is the quickest way to tell whether Nintendo has started delivery. If it is paused, restore the internet connection and resume it from the HOME Menu. Do not delete the icon while troubleshooting unless Nintendo’s own support instructions tell you to do so, because the purchase entitlement is already associated with your account.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

DLC and bonus content may be separate

If the product page lists the Bonus Contents Pack or Digital Sound & Art Gallery as separate entries, check your purchase receipt and the relevant eShop listing. Do not assume that buying the standard game automatically grants every item displayed in the product family.

Troubleshoot common purchase and download problems

The game does not appear in search

  • Search the exact title, including the apostrophe in Belmont’s if the keyboard permits it.
  • Confirm that you are using the Nintendo store for the intended account region.
  • Check the official product page from the Nintendo store rather than relying on a third-party listing.
  • Verify that the store has reached the October 15, 2026 release date for your region and that the product is not temporarily unavailable.

Search results can differ between storefronts. If one account cannot see the title, do not switch countries casually: regional account settings affect prices, taxes, payment methods, and the editions presented at checkout.

The purchase button or edition is different from the instructions

Nintendo can display different labels, payment methods, prices, taxes, and edition packaging by country. A button may say Continue before it says Proceed to Purchase. Follow the equivalent purchase control on the official page and read the final summary carefully. If Midnight Edition or a bonus item is not shown, do not assume it is included in another edition.

The download does not start

  1. Return to the HOME Menu and look for the new game icon and progress bar.
  2. Check the Switch’s internet connection and reconnect if it has dropped.
  3. Confirm that the console has sufficient free storage for the current Nintendo estimate.
  4. Make sure you are viewing the HOME Menu of the Switch selected during the web purchase, if you bought from a phone or computer.
  5. Restart the download from the HOME Menu if the progress indicator is paused, then keep the console online until it completes.

The console reports insufficient storage

Free space or install a Nintendo Switch-compatible microSD card, then retry the download. Recheck the current file-size figure on Nintendo’s product page because published estimates can be updated. A physical cartridge does not automatically solve this issue: Konami says its physical version also requires an additional online download.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The game is missing after changing consoles

Open Nintendo eShop with the Nintendo Account that made the purchase and use that account’s redownload or purchased-software area. A purchase made by one Nintendo Account does not become a separate purchase for another account simply because both profiles are on the same console.

A bonus pack or gallery is not visible

Reopen the edition’s Nintendo eShop page and check whether the item was included or listed as a separate DLC purchase in your region. The standard listing’s presence of a Bonus Contents Pack and Digital Sound & Art Gallery entry does not, by itself, establish that both are bundled.

The price or payment method is unexpected

Stop at the final summary and verify the country, currency, tax, edition, and account. Nintendo does not guarantee identical payment choices in every region, and a price shown in a third-party listing may not match the eShop total. Use the funds, card, or other payment option Nintendo presents for your account; do not confirm until the amount and included content are correct.

Final pre-purchase checklist

  • You are signed in to the Nintendo Account that should own the game.
  • Your Switch is online, or your selected target console is online if you bought through Nintendo’s website.
  • You searched for the official title, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
  • You selected the intended edition: standard digital or Midnight Edition.
  • You checked the regional price, tax, payment method, and included-content summary.
  • You have enough storage for Nintendo’s current estimate of 4.2 GB, with additional space or a compatible microSD card available if needed.
  • You understand that “Supported” on the Switch 2 note means compatible software, not proof of a separate native Switch 2 edition.
  • You know whether the Bonus Contents Pack and Digital Sound & Art Gallery are bundled, optional, or unavailable in your region.

Once these checks are complete, select Proceed to Purchase, confirm the transaction, and monitor the automatic download from the HOME Menu.

How much storage does Belmont’s Curse need on Switch?

Nintendo estimates 4.2 GB for the Switch download. Konami’s 2026 specification lists 4 GB. Use Nintendo’s current eShop figure and leave extra room; a compatible microSD card may be needed.

Which Belmont’s Curse edition should I buy?

Compare the standard digital listing and Midnight Edition on your regional Nintendo page. Check price, format, included bonuses, and download information. The regional page determines whether the Bonus Contents Pack or Digital Sound & Art Gallery is bundled or separate.

Does buying the standard game include the bonus pack and gallery?

Not necessarily. Nintendo shows those as entries associated with the standard listing, but you must read your regional purchase summary to determine whether each is included, optional DLC, or unavailable.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I buy the game from a phone or computer?

In eligible regions, sign in to Nintendo’s store, open the official product page, complete checkout, and select a target Switch if prompted. The console must be online for the automatic download. If the web option is unavailable, use the console eShop.

Is there a separate native Switch 2 version?

Nintendo marks the listed software “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That confirms compatibility, not a separately identified native Switch 2 edition.

Is the physical version download-free?

No. Konami states that the physical version requires an additional download from the online store, so you still need internet access and free storage.

What if I bought the game but cannot find it on another Switch?

Open eShop on that console with the Nintendo Account that made the purchase and use the account’s purchased-software or redownload area. The entitlement remains tied to the original purchasing account.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bottom Line

Buy Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse through the Nintendo Account that should own it, verify the standard or Midnight Edition and its regional contents, reserve at least Nintendo’s current 4.2 GB estimate plus extra space, then confirm the purchase and watch the automatic HOME Menu download.
