The available guide-reported unlocks run from Threefold Strike at level 1 to Golden Palms at level 50, but skill values and recommendations are patch-sensitive. There is no established universal best leveling build: a documented option is a fast Hundred Hands basic-attack setup centered on Furious Fist.
What to prioritize while leveling
The Monk is described in the Deskrawl Wiki as a Dexterity-based martial class. Its skills unlock over time, so a late-game build recommendation may not fit a character still leveling. Use the current skill set as your starting point, and reconsider the build at each meaningful unlock rather than maxing every appealing early stat.

Levels 1–14: build around what is available
Threefold Strike is the listed basic attack at level 1. Sacred Judgment arrives at 5 and Sacred Orbs at 10, adding strong-attack and special options. Test how those skills fit your current rotation rather than assuming that a later build’s priorities apply before its key pieces unlock.

Levels 15–29: test the Furious Fist route
At level 15, the guide lists Furious Fist and Spirit Stream. Furious Fist is the centerpiece of the documented Hundred Hands basic-attack direction, so this is the earliest listed point to try that approach. Piercing Lunge at 20 and Charge at 25 give you additional options; retain or replace earlier skills based on the complete rotation, mana use, and survival rather than the name or damage of one skill alone.
Levels 30–49: reassess the rotation
Seismic Strike and Spirit Twin are listed at 30, Whirlwind Staff at 35, Wind Steps at 40, and Chi Bolt and Divine Thunder at 45. These unlocks can change which attack path makes sense. Compare basic attacks, strong attacks, and specials using the abilities you actually have, and account for the support skills needed to keep the rotation running.

Level 50 and beyond: do not assume one guide fits every patch
Golden Palms is the guide-listed strong attack at 50. Late-game recommendations may depend on gear, runes, and current balance changes, so treat the unlock table as a progression reference—not a fixed point-by-point build prescription.
How the Hundred Hands build works
The Hundred Hands guide presents a fast basic-attack setup built around Furious Fist. Its suggested supporting pieces are Dodge Chance, attack speed, Zephyr’s Flow for mana after dodges, Mirror Steps for physical damage after dodging, and the Hundred Hands set. This is a guide-authored build direction, not a proven ranking or a universal best Monk build.

The Monk class page also names Wheel of Nine Heavens and Serpent’s Tongue as rune-set directions. Read each set’s thresholds alongside the attacks you have equipped; the available evidence does not establish individual bonuses for these sets. Before abandoning a working defensive setup, test the full attack rotation and mana use with the set equipped.
Dodge can contribute to both offense and the mana loop in the Hundred Hands guide, but it does not prevent all damage. Ground poison and lingering area effects can still hurt you. Health, resistance, movement, and skill choice remain part of a reliable setup.

How to choose talents without frequent resets
The Hundred Hands guide says talent resets cost gold and become increasingly expensive. Its practical advice is to invest toward the next useful unlock instead of maxing each attractive early stat. The guide does not provide a universally valid point-by-point allocation for every character, patch, and gear state, so choose talents in light of the build you can currently support and avoid repeated full resets when a smaller adjustment will do.

Do not judge a farming setup by a short burst of damage. Compare complete runs in similar zones and of similar length. Track rewards alongside interruptions, deaths, and trips back to town; a setup that hits hard but repeatedly breaks its run may be less useful for sustained farming.

- Attack path: note whether the run relies on basic attacks, strong attacks, or specials, and whether the relevant skills are unlocked.
- Survival and uptime: account for Dodge, health, resistance, movement, mana continuity, deaths, and time spent returning to town.
- Whole-run results: compare similar zones and run lengths, including rewards and interruptions, rather than extrapolating from a brief damage burst.
These are evaluation criteria, not controlled performance results. No source establishes a universal best Monk leveling build or Monk-specific win rate.
Check the current patch before copying damage values
Monk advice is version-sensitive. An October 2, 2026 class comparison says the post-1.0.0h Monk had a Chain Force rework and improved strong-attack behavior, and warns against carrying launch-day class rankings forward without testing current options. A surfaced Steam announcement for Patch 1.0.0i reports additional Monk changes, but its announcement date is not securely established in the surfaced feed, and those values may have since been superseded. Check the live game before treating any listed value as current.
The Steam listing gives Deskrawl: Idle ARPG’s release date as September 28, 2026. That date identifies the game’s launch, not the version currently running; the in-game patch is the relevant reference when evaluating a build.
