Use Petalis as a protected back-line support in a six-hero Nature formation. The strongest documented Nature endgame queue places Monk and Altar Marshal in front, Forest Maiden and Tidecaller in the middle, and Petalis with Pixie in back. That arrangement lets the front line absorb the opening assault while Petalis cycles shields, crowd control, damage buffs and defensive debuffs.
Pocket Gamer’s page, updated October 18, 2026, lists Petalis in S-Tier. Her value comes less from personal damage than from keeping a key frontline hero alive, denying control effects, weakening opponents and improving the team’s damage window. The sections below explain the formation, skill priorities, investment choices and fallback plans when your Nature roster is incomplete.
The recommended six-hero Petalis lineup

This is a role-based formation, not a requirement to copy positions blindly. If an opponent’s targeting pattern consistently reaches one back-row slot, swap the two back heroes while keeping Petalis away from the opening clash. Her Sacred Lotus protects a front-row ally, so the front pair should be the heroes expected to take the first hits.
Why this six works
The queue concentrates all six heroes in Nature, which activates Petalis’s strongest faction-dependent effects. It also follows the broad formation pattern recommended for Top Heroes: two durable heroes in front, two middle-row contributors, and two healers or support heroes in back. Petalis supplies the most important protection and control cycle; the other five heroes must give her enough time to use it.

Petalis’s kit and what each skill means for team building
Sacred Lotus: the first protection priority
Sacred Lotus raises petals around one allied hero and gives that target a shield equal to 280% of Petalis’s Attack. The shield absorbs 80% of incoming damage for six seconds and prevents Silence and Knockback while it remains active. In practice, it is both a survival button and an answer to control-heavy openings.
Because the ability protects one front-row ally, keep the two tanks close in the formation and watch which one is being focused. If the same tank repeatedly receives the first wave of damage, that hero is the natural Sacred Lotus target. The anti-Silence and anti-Knockback protection is especially valuable when a tank must hold a choke point or maintain contact with an enemy damage dealer.
Charm Flower: control with two damage events
Charm Flower deals 410% of Petalis’s Attack along its path, then follows with a 390%-Attack area explosion. Enemies hit by the effect are Charmed for 1.5 seconds. Shields reduce Charm Flower’s damage by 40%, so it is less reliable as a finisher against heavily protected targets but remains useful for interrupting an enemy group and creating space for your middle row.
Use the ability when several opponents are lined up rather than treating it as a single-target attack. Its control value can be more important than the raw percentages: a short Charm during an enemy burst often gives the frontline enough time for the next Sacred Lotus cycle.
Flourish: turn allied casts into larger shields
Flourish grants Sunlight stacks when allies cast skills. Each stack increases the next Sacred Lotus shield by 1.5%, up to eight stacks. The maximum bonus is therefore 12% to that next shield when all eight stacks are present.
This effect rewards a team that casts regularly. Forest Maiden, Tidecaller, Pixie and the two front heroes should not be treated only as stat sticks; their skill timing contributes to Petalis’s next defensive breakpoint. Avoid spending Sacred Lotus immediately when a modest hit is incoming if your frontline can safely wait for more Sunlight stacks. Conversely, do not delay a shield when a tank is in lethal danger merely to chase the maximum Flourish bonus.

Twin Lotus: emergency protection and the six-Nature payoff
When an ally falls below 20% HP, Twin Lotus spends 20% of Petalis’s current HP to create a shield equal to 38% of the ally’s maximum HP. With six Nature heroes on the team, that shield value is doubled. The skill is an emergency trigger, not a replacement for a durable front line: Petalis pays health to save someone else, so repeated low-health triggers can put her at risk.
The doubled shield is one of the clearest reasons to complete the Nature six. A mixed roster may still use Petalis effectively, but it gives up this specific scaling benefit. Keep an eye on Petalis’s own health before allowing a wounded tank to remain in danger; a badly timed Twin Lotus can trade one failing hero for a support who can no longer cast.
Sakura Rain: the team’s damage window
Sakura Rain creates a six-second zone. Allies inside gain 26% Damage Increase, while enemies in the area suffer 15% lower Attack and 30% lower Attack Speed. The zone therefore improves your team’s output and reduces the frequency and strength of incoming hits at the same time.
Place the zone where the two tanks and the middle row can remain inside it while attacking. In wave content, cast it as enemies are grouped so the debuffs affect the largest possible portion of the fight. In a boss or Arena encounter, save it for the moment your damage dealers are ready to use their major skills; the six-second duration is short enough that casting it too early can waste the strongest part of the buff.
Fox Spirit Secrets: count your Nature heroes
Fox Spirit Secrets adds 1.5% for each Nature hero to the relevant team Damage Reduction or Damage effect, capped at 9%. Six Nature heroes reach the cap. A five-Nature roster reaches only five contributions, and a mixed team gives up additional scaling according to how many Nature heroes remain.

This effect is another reason to evaluate a replacement by more than its individual rating. A higher-stat off-faction hero may improve one position while reducing Petalis’s team-wide scaling. Compare the immediate role gain with the lost faction contribution before changing the queue.

How to assemble the team when your roster is incomplete
- Secure Petalis in the back row. Do not move her forward to fill a missing tank slot. Her strongest effects require repeated casts, and she cannot perform that job while absorbing the opening damage.
- Fill both front positions with durable heroes. Their first job is to remain alive and keep enemies occupied. A nominally stronger damage dealer is not an upgrade if the tanks die before Sacred Lotus or Sakura Rain can cycle.
- Keep at least one dependable damage source in the middle. Petalis improves a team’s damage window but does not replace a dedicated damage dealer. Use the middle row for heroes that can convert her six-second Sakura Rain zone into actual kills.
- Use the remaining back position for healing or support. Pixie is the cited Nature partner. If Pixie is unavailable, choose a support that helps the frontline survive without forcing Petalis into a healing-only role.
- Restore Nature bodies as your long-term goal. Every added Nature hero improves the conditions for Twin Lotus and Fox Spirit Secrets, while a complete six activates the doubled Twin Lotus shield and the 9% Fox Spirit Secrets cap.
Faction aura, counters and matchup planning
Top Heroes increases Queue Attack and Queue HP when you field four, five or six Legendary heroes from one faction. The listed bonuses are 15% at four, 25% at five and 35% at six. These are queue-wide bonuses, so replacing one Nature hero with an off-faction option can affect the entire team rather than only that hero’s personal statistics.
The basic faction relationship is League > Nature > Horde > League. A Nature queue is therefore favored against Horde and disadvantaged against League under the base counter system. Check the opponent’s faction before committing to a pure Nature formation, especially in modes where the counter bonus is decisive.
Do not abandon Petalis solely because of a counter disadvantage. First consider whether a mixed lineup can preserve the two tanks, a damage source and the back-row support pattern. Switch more aggressively when the opposing faction also has enough burst or control to defeat both front heroes before Petalis can establish her first shield cycle.

Skill upgrade order and resource discipline
The cited priority is Sacred Lotus → Charm Flower → Twin Lotus → Sakura Rain → Flourish. Take each skill to three stars before moving to the next. This order puts reliable frontline protection first, then adds Petalis’s control damage, emergency shield, team damage window and finally the stack-based shield improvement.

AllClash emphasizes that skill books and universal shards are scarce. Leveling every skill evenly can postpone the upgrades that change survival or control immediately. The three-star sequence is a starting rule, not a permanent law: change it when a particular mode, star level or roster breakpoint makes another skill more valuable. For example, a team that already survives comfortably but fails to finish timed waves may move Sakura Rain earlier after Sacred Lotus reaches the needed defensive threshold.
Gear and stat priorities for Petalis
No named gear set or universal gear breakpoint is established in the available material, so avoid treating an unverified set recommendation as mandatory. Build around the way her skills scale instead:

- Attack first for Petalis-specific scaling. Sacred Lotus’s shield is 280% of Attack, while Charm Flower’s two damage events also use Attack. Raising Attack improves both protection and contribution to damage.
- Maximum HP is the next practical consideration. Twin Lotus creates a shield equal to 38% of the ally’s maximum HP, and Petalis herself pays 20% of her current HP when it triggers. More health gives her a larger safety margin for that exchange.
- Use defensive options that keep her casting. A shield is worthless if Petalis is defeated or disabled before using it. Prefer survivability over a small offensive increase when the back line is being reached consistently.
- Do not strip the tanks to improve Petalis. Her performance depends on a protected casting window. Moving too many defensive resources away from Monk or Altar Marshal can reduce the value of every Petalis skill.
Review gear after observing actual failures. If Petalis dies first, add survivability. If she survives but the team misses damage checks, shift appropriate secondary investment toward Attack. Keep the main frontline plan intact while testing one change at a time.
Choosing variants for different battle demands
Six-Nature endgame queue
Use the recommended Monk, Altar Marshal, Forest Maiden, Tidecaller, Petalis and Pixie arrangement when you can field all six at a competitive investment level. It maximizes Petalis’s faction scaling, reaches the Fox Spirit Secrets cap and doubles Twin Lotus’s emergency shield. Its trade-off is roster cost: replacing a weak Nature hero with a well-developed off-faction hero may produce better short-term results until the Nature roster catches up.
Mixed Nature core
A mixed queue is appropriate when one or more Nature heroes are missing, under-starred or unable to perform their role. Keep Petalis in back, preserve two durable frontliners and retain at least one reliable damage source. You will not receive the full six-Nature Twin Lotus and Fox Spirit Secrets benefits, but the core shield, Charm, Sakura Rain buffs and control protection still function.
Wave-focused damage variant
For PvE waves, prioritize a middle row that can hit multiple targets during Sakura Rain. Charm Flower’s line damage and area explosion become more valuable when enemies naturally cluster. Keep enough support redundancy to prevent the frontline from collapsing between waves; replacing both back-row supports with damage can leave Petalis without the time needed to cast.
Boss or Arena variant
Against a single durable target or a concentrated burst team, value sustained frontline survival and timed buffs over broad area coverage. Trigger Sakura Rain when your damage dealers can act inside the full six-second zone, and use Sacred Lotus to block the control effect most likely to interrupt your tank. If the opponent’s League advantage overwhelms the Nature counter relationship, test a mixed formation rather than sacrificing Petalis’s protected position.

Pocket Gamer’s beginner formation uses Secret Keeper and Treeguard as tanks, Pyromancer and Stonemason as damage dealers, and Druid plus Bard for healing and support. These heroes are practical substitutes while a Nature roster is incomplete; they are not evidence that the beginner team outperforms a fully invested six-Nature lineup.

Use that example as a role map:
- Front: two heroes able to absorb and hold attention.
- Middle: two heroes that can supply dependable damage.
- Back: Petalis plus one healer or support hero when Petalis is available.
If you insert Petalis into an otherwise beginner roster, replace only one back-row support if the remaining healer can keep the tanks alive. Do not remove both sources of recovery just to preserve a nominal damage advantage. As your Nature heroes become strong enough, transition one slot at a time toward the documented endgame queue rather than replacing the entire team at once.
Acquisition, stars and progression planning
The cited Petalis page lists her unlock source as Purchase or Event and states that 1,000 shards are needed to reach 5★. It does not establish a universal event calendar or region-by-region availability. Check the live client for the offer, event dates and local requirements before committing resources.
Plan the investment in stages:
- Unlock Petalis and place her in back immediately. Even before maximum stars, her role is to protect and amplify the team rather than contest a frontline position.
- Fund the first three-star skill sequence. Concentrate books and universal shards on Sacred Lotus, then Charm Flower, before spreading resources further.
- Build the Nature count deliberately. Add Nature heroes that can perform the required frontline, middle-row and support jobs; do not chase the six-hero bonus with unusable units.
- Work toward 5★ over time. The 1,000-shard figure is the stated requirement, but the acquisition route and event availability can differ by region and date.
Common Petalis mistakes and fixes
Putting Petalis in the middle or front
Symptom: she dies before Sacred Lotus or Sakura Rain matters. Fix: return her to the back row and use two durable frontliners to create casting time.

Symptom: the team technically has six Nature heroes but loses fights before the faction scaling helps. Fix: compare the replacement’s real role, stars and survival with the value of the lost off-faction hero. Complete the six when the added hero can actually stay alive and contribute.
Ignoring the Sacred Lotus target
Symptom: the shield lands on a tank that is not being focused while the other frontline hero collapses. Fix: observe enemy targeting and adjust formation order so the shield reaches the ally taking the initial damage.
Triggering Twin Lotus without checking Petalis’s health
Symptom: an emergency rescue leaves Petalis nearly dead. Fix: remember the 20% current-HP cost and improve Petalis’s own survivability before relying on repeated low-health triggers.
Wasting Sakura Rain
Symptom: the six-second zone expires while allies are repositioning or enemies are outside it. Fix: cast when your frontline has contact and your damage dealers are ready to use their major skills.

Symptom: no skill reaches a useful breakpoint despite spending scarce books and shards. Fix: follow the Sacred Lotus-to-Flourish order through three stars, then adjust only when your mode or roster creates a clear reason.
Forgetting faction counters
Symptom: a normally stable Nature queue struggles against a League opponent. Fix: account for League > Nature > Horde > League when choosing between a pure Nature queue and a mixed alternative.
