You can save and share Sound Assistant equalizer settings, but Samsung’s documentation does not describe a way to export or back up every Sound Assistant setting at once. Before switching phones, record the controls you rely on, use the EQ save/share option where available, and keep your old phone until you have checked the new one.
What Sound Assistant lets you save
Samsung’s Sound Assistant listing describes features including per-app volume, finer volume controls, equalizer settings and personalized audio options. It says EQ settings can be saved and shared, but it does not document a complete export or backup for all Sound Assistant preferences.
Before migration, open Sound Assistant and make a record of the settings you want to recreate. For EQ, use its save/share feature if it is available in your version. For other controls, note their values or take screenshots; do not assume the EQ option includes them.
Which transfer method should you use?

Prepare and transfer without losing your reference
- Record the settings you care about. Open Sound Assistant on the old phone. Save or share EQ settings using the feature described in the Galaxy Store listing where available; note or capture other settings individually.
- Choose the device-transfer route. For Galaxy-to-Galaxy moves, use Smart Switch. For Android-to-Android moves, use Google’s cable or wireless transfer during setup. Follow the prompts on both phones; the available categories and app-data behavior can vary by device and Android version.
- Keep the old phone available. After transfer, install or open Sound Assistant on the new phone and compare its settings with your notes. Recreate any settings that did not appear. This is a prudent safeguard, not a documented guarantee that preferences will migrate.
- Erase or trade in the old phone only after checking. Confirm that the new phone has the app and the settings you need before wiping the old device.
What to expect from cable transfer
Google’s wired transfer option requires a compatible data-transfer cable and devices with suitable connectors. A USB-C cable is relevant only when both phones support its connectors and data transfer. The cable helps copy supported phone content; it does not independently export Sound Assistant settings.

Why a perfect clone is not guaranteed
Transfer tools copy supported content, not necessarily every app’s private preferences. Google explicitly notes that some app data may not transfer, and Samsung’s Smart Switch categories do not promise restoration of Sound Assistant configuration by name. Treat the migration as a way to move supported data, then verify and recreate Sound Assistant settings on the destination phone.
