Screenshot.rocks is described as a tool for turning an existing screenshot into a polished mockup—not as a service that captures a website every day. For recurring captures, use an automation workflow such as the GitHub Actions approach documented by shot-scraper, then use Screenshot.rocks separately if you want to present selected images in a browser or iPhone frame.

What Screenshot.rocks does—and does not establish

Screenshot.rocks lets you place an existing screenshot in a browser or iPhone frame, choose a background, add annotations, and export the result. Its product page says images are processed in the browser and are not stored on its servers. Those are mockup and presentation features; the available product description does not document a recurring capture scheduler. It would be misleading to assume the tool itself takes a fresh screenshot every day.

If your goal is to keep a daily record of a site, separate the workflow into two jobs: an automation tool obtains the screenshot on a schedule, and a mockup editor can style a selected image afterward. Confirm Screenshot.rocks’ current interface supports the image input and export steps you need before relying on it for that second job.

Set up recurring captures with an automation workflow

The shot-scraper documentation describes a GitHub Actions workflow that installs the tool, defines screenshots in a configuration file, captures them in the workflow, and writes the resulting images back to a repository. This is a documented route to investigate, rather than a verified, copy-and-paste recipe: the available documentation result does not establish a complete current workflow file, schedule syntax, time-zone behavior, failure policy, or image-retention configuration.

  1. Review the current shot-scraper documentation. Confirm the installation and configuration format for the version you plan to use, then check the documented GitHub Actions example at the shot-scraper documentation PDF.
  2. Define the pages to capture. Follow the tool’s current configuration guidance for the target URLs and any capture settings. Avoid placing credentials or private URLs in a public repository.
  3. Configure the workflow schedule and output. Use the current GitHub Actions syntax and verify when scheduled runs execute, where the output files go, and whether the workflow commits them back to the repository. Do not assume a particular local time or retention period without checking the platform and workflow settings.
  4. Test a manual run before relying on the schedule. Confirm that the expected files are created and written to the intended location. Review workflow logs and decide how you will be notified if a run fails.
  5. Check storage and history. Repeated captures can accumulate in a repository. Choose a retention or archival policy appropriate to your use case and verify that policy in the current tooling rather than assuming old images are removed automatically.

Choosing between a mockup and a daily capture

Question Screenshot.rocks shot-scraper with GitHub Actions
Primary job Style an existing screenshot as a presentation mockup, with frames, backgrounds, annotations, and export. Documentation describes automated screenshots written back to a repository through a workflow.
Daily scheduling Not documented in the reviewed product description. A GitHub Actions workflow is documented, but exact current schedule syntax and time-zone behavior should be checked in current documentation.
Image processing or destination The site says image processing happens in the browser and images are not stored on its servers. Documentation describes writing resulting images back to the repository; detailed storage and retention behavior depends on the workflow configuration.
What to verify Confirm current input and export support for your image workflow. Confirm current installation, configuration, schedule, secrets, failure handling, and retention details.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. A single GET request can return a screenshot or PDF; for example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options and setup. Before capture, it can accept cookie or consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents using Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client.

The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card required; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. These are API captures, not a claim that ScreenshotNeo itself schedules a daily run: you would still need to trigger requests on your preferred schedule.

Vilros Raspberry Pi 4 4GB Basic Starter Kit with Fan-Cooled Heavy-Duty Aluminum Alloy Case
  • KEEP YOUR PROCESSOR COOL: The busier a processor gets the more it heats up, leading to sub-optimal performance. To prevent this common issue, this kit includes an aluminum alloy case with a pre-installed fan. The aluminum alloy actively draws the heat from the pi board, while the fan further cools the board and case. These cooling mechanisms will help push the limits of your processor and increase its flexibility.
  • SIZABLE RAM: This Raspberry Pi 4 comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, which is the same amount of RAM or more RAM than many mainstream laptops contain. With 4GB of RAM, your processor will be capable of running retro gaming setups and common computer applications, media players, and much more!
  • SIMPLE TO TURN ON & OFF: This kit includes a USB-C Raspberry Pi 4 compatible power supply with an easy-to-use on/off switch that was designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 4 model to streamline processing.
  • IMPROVEMENTS FROM PREVIOUS MODELS: This latest model of the Raspberry Pi 4 offers groundbreaking increases in processor speed, multimedia performance, connectivity, memory, and more! The desktop performance of this model is comparable to entry-level x86 PC systems.
  • VERSATILE USE: The Raspberry Pi may have a small processor, but it is a highly adaptable little computer that can replace your desktop PC. Its functions range from practical to nostalgic since it can power an ad-blocking server as easily as it can power an outmoded gaming setup. Other uses include but are not limited to printing from non-wireless printers, playing media, making time-lapse videos, and building multiplayer network game servers and motion-capture security systems.

Common issues to check before depending on a daily archive

  • No new image appears: inspect the workflow run and its logs, then verify the URL list, configuration, permissions, and output path against the current shot-scraper instructions.
  • The schedule runs at an unexpected time: check the current GitHub Actions schedule documentation and account for its time-zone behavior; the available shot-scraper documentation reference does not establish a local-time guarantee.
  • Images are missing from repository history: confirm that the workflow is configured to write or commit its output and has the permissions needed to do so.
  • The repository grows over time: decide how long to retain image history and configure or operate an archive policy; automatic cleanup is not established by the workflow description cited here.
  • A mockup step does not accept the captured file: check Screenshot.rocks’ current supported inputs and export behavior before building the process around it.
