Build a Make scenario that captures a webpage, passes the screenshot file data to Google Drive’s Upload a File action, and runs on a schedule you set for the scenario. Make’s published template demonstrates a URL list in Google Sheets, screenshot capture, Drive uploads, and writing image links back to the sheet. Start with one URL and test the actual page before relying on recurring captures.
How the scheduled screenshot workflow fits together
The workflow has three separate parts: a source for the page URL, a capture step that produces a screenshot, and a Google Drive upload step. The recurrence is configured on the Make scenario, rather than inside the upload action.
Make publishes a screenshot-to-Google-Drive template that uses Google Sheets for URLs and resulting image links. Its description says: “This automation pulls a list of URLs from a google sheet and takes a screenshot of them once they’re fully loaded.” Treat it as a starting point: confirm the current capture action, connections, and required fields in your Make account before depending on the template’s exact setup.
Build and test the Make scenario
1. Choose the URL source and cadence
For a single page, you can use a fixed URL if the selected capture module supports it. For multiple pages, the published template uses a Google Sheet as the URL list and stores the resulting image links there. Decide how often you need a new archive before setting the schedule; the official materials do not prescribe an ideal cadence.

2. Add a screenshot capture action
Choose a capture action available in your Make account and connect any required service or account. The template lists Google Sheets, Cloudmersive, and Google Drive, but its public description does not establish the exact current capture endpoint, connection requirements, pricing, or whether the action returns file data or a temporary URL.
Check the output of the capture action. The next step needs usable screenshot file data. If the capture action returns only a URL, verify whether that URL can be fetched as file data in your scenario before mapping it to Drive. Test with your target page: the template’s “fully loaded” wording does not specify a wait setting or guarantee that delayed or dynamically loaded page content will appear.

3. Map the screenshot into Google Drive
Add Google Drive’s Upload a File action. Its module documentation describes a destination folder and file fields such as filename and data. Select the intended folder, map the screenshot’s file data to the data field, and provide a filename that distinguishes captures, such as a site label and capture date/time.
For a Shared Drive destination, the module documentation says those options are for Google Workspace users. Make sure the connected account has permission to upload to the selected folder.

4. Run once and verify the result
- Run the scenario manually for one page before turning on recurring execution.
- Inspect the screenshot for legibility and confirm it shows the expected page state.
- Check that the capture output reaches the Drive upload action as file data and that the file appears in the intended folder with the expected filename.
- If using a sheet, verify that the resulting image link is written back to the correct row.
Set the schedule on the scenario
In Make’s Scenario Builder, open the scenario’s schedule setting and choose a schedule. Make’s scheduling documentation lists regular intervals, once, daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, specified dates, and on-demand options. It says the default schedule is every 15 minutes, but the minimum interval depends on your plan; check the options available to your account instead of assuming a particular recurring cadence.
After choosing the schedule, activate the scenario and check its next scheduled run in Make. If you change the capture, upload, or URL-source steps later, run a manual test again so a mapping change does not silently interrupt the archive.

Choosing a capture action and diagnosing failures
The official template establishes the overall flow, but does not provide provider-by-provider details for capture output, rendering, account requirements, file-size limits, or execution limits. Before settling on a capture action, check whether it returns binary file data or only a temporary URL, whether its rendering behavior suits your target page, what account or API key is needed, and what file and execution limits apply. Also check the recurrence choices on your Make plan.
- No file appears in Drive: inspect the capture output and confirm that the upload action’s data field receives file data, not an unprocessed URL.
- The file lands in the wrong place or upload is denied: check the selected destination folder and the connected account’s permission to upload there.
- The screenshot misses dynamic content: test the page with the chosen capture action and determine whether it offers an appropriate wait control. The template does not document a specific wait setting or promise coverage of dynamic loading.
- The scenario does not run at the cadence you expected: reopen the schedule setting and confirm the selected option and the minimum interval allowed for your plan.
