First check the exact notice: an account penalty and a Vanguard device restriction are different issues. Give Riot accurate account details, quote the message or attach a clear screenshot, explain why you believe the action is mistaken, and include relevant records. Riot says justified penalties will not be removed or adjusted, so an appeal requests a review but does not guarantee a reversal.
Identify what Riot’s notice actually says
“Hardware ban” is often used loosely. Before opening a ticket, read the full message and record any error code. Riot’s Vanguard guidance describes a device restriction that can appear when a computer seems to enable cheating, including in connection with outdated Windows or particular settings. A VAN: RESTRICTION notice may identify settings Riot says are needed to remove that restriction; it is not interchangeable with an account penalty.

Do not replace hardware or change unrelated settings on the assumption that doing so will help an appeal. The public guidance does not establish either as an appeal tactic.
Submit a clear, evidence-based support ticket
Use the official VALORANT Player Support ticket route. Riot’s request form lists account-identification fields including the original registration email, account registration location, Riot ID, login name, platform, and a description of the problem. It accepts attachments and says game logs can help support investigate. Provide accurate information in the fields that apply to your case.

Include the details that let support understand the case
- Identify the account. Supply the requested Riot ID and other account details, including the region or registration information requested by the form.
- Show the exact notice. Copy the complete error or penalty wording and code, or attach a readable, uncropped screenshot.
- Set out when and where it happened. Give the date and time, including your time zone, and identify the game, platform, and relevant PC context.
- Explain your reason for requesting review. Give a concise timeline and say why you believe the action is mistaken. Separate facts you can verify from suspicions.
- Attach directly relevant records. Use screenshots, notices, or other records that support the explanation. Riot’s form accepts attachments; it does not establish a universal list of required evidence.
- Consider Riot Repair Tool logs. Riot’s form says logs can help support. Its instructions direct Windows users to Riot Repair Tool to collect them.
Keep the submission factual. Do not fabricate or alter evidence, include unrelated personal data, or send your password. The form asks for account identifiers, not a password.
Have the original account owner contact Riot
Riot says it can assist only the original account owner for security and privacy reasons. The account owner should submit the ticket through their account or registered email. A friend or family member should not pose as the owner or file the appeal on their behalf.

Understand what an appeal can—and cannot—do
Riot’s support request form states: “Legitimate penalties will not be removed or adjusted.” A clear ticket can ask Riot to review a suspected mistake, but the form does not promise that a penalty will be reversed. Riot’s public materials also do not specify a guaranteed response time or a complete evidentiary standard for overturning a hardware-related enforcement action.
