Start by confirming that the holster is made for your exact Glock 48 setup; then adjust only the retention, ride-height, or cant features that its maker provides. Glock 48 and 48 MOS fit, accessory clearance, and adjustment ranges vary by holster, so there is no universal screw setting or angle that guarantees a secure, comfortable fit.
Confirm the holster fits your exact Glock 48
Before changing hardware, check the holster maker’s current fit list for the pistol variant and any attached accessories. A listing may distinguish the Glock 48 from the Glock 48 MOS, and a holster designed for one configuration may not clear another setup.
For example, Four Brothers’ Glock 48 IWB holster listing specifies fit for the G48 and G48 MOS, but excludes weapon-mounted lights and lasers and some extended or threaded barrels. Those are that product’s limits, not a rule for all G48 holsters.
Check clearance for sights and any other configuration details the maker identifies, as well as the belt attachment options. If your exact pistol and accessory combination is not listed, ask the manufacturer rather than assuming it will fit.

Know what each adjustment changes
Holsters do not all offer the same controls. Identify the features on your specific model and use its instructions; do not transfer a setting or adjustment method from a different holster.

Adjust it safely and in small, deliberate steps
- Read both makers’ instructions. Use the current instructions for the holster and consult GLOCK’s official downloadable materials for the G17–G48 owner’s manual.
- Follow firearm safety rules while handling the pistol. GLOCK’s firearm safety FAQ says: “TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IT IS LOADED,” “ALWAYS KEEP THE FIREARM POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION,” and “KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER AND OUTSIDE THE GUN’S TRIGGER GUARD UNTIL THE GUN IS POINTED AT THE TARGET AND YOU HAVE DECIDED TO FIRE.” Follow the firearm and holster makers’ directions for any handling involved in adjustment.
- Identify supported adjustments. Check whether your holster has retention screws, repositionable clips for ride height or cant, or an optional claw or wing. Do not loosen, move, or add hardware unless the maker says it is adjustable.
- Make changes as directed by the holster maker. Reassess the fit after each change. The reviewed official sources do not set a universal screw torque, cant angle, or retention force, so do not substitute an invented target for the model’s instructions.
- Stop if the setup does not fit. If the holster cannot accommodate your exact pistol or accessories, stop relying on that combination and contact its manufacturer about compatibility.
Choose by compatibility and adjustability, not a promised comfort ranking
When comparing a Glock 48 IWB holster, check its exact G48 or G48 MOS fit, stated sight and accessory clearance, adjustable retention, ride-height and cant options, and belt attachments. For example, GLOCK’s EU product page lists a slim Sport/Combat holster for the G43, G43X, and G48; that is distinct from third-party IWB models with their own fit limits and adjustment features.
These specifications help you determine whether a holster supports your setup and preferred adjustments. They do not establish a proven comfort ranking, and comfort remains personal. GLOCK also states that it does not recommend aftermarket accessories; consult its official owner resources for pistol information.
