To keep a prerecorded yoga video playing inside a 24/7 YouTube Live broadcast, you need both a looping video source and an encoder that continuously sends it to YouTube. For a genuinely seamless loop, edit and test the transition from the end of the video back to its beginning; YouTube does not automatically repeat an uploaded video. You can run the encoder on your own computer or use cloud playout so a home computer does not have to stay on.

What makes a yoga stream loop seamless?

There are two separate jobs. First, an encoder or cloud service must keep sending a live video feed to YouTube. Second, the video itself must join cleanly at its out-point and in-point. A continuous broadcast can still show a visible jump, pause, or audio pop if the footage does not loop cleanly.

YouTube’s live-stream guidance explains how to connect an encoder, but it does not provide a method for editing a gapless loop. Inspect the transition in a video editor and test the encoded playback before relying on it for a long broadcast. If you use a playlist, check every transition between adjacent clips, not just the last clip back to the first.

Prepare the video and audio

  • Use video and music for which you have the necessary rights. Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; verify that your specific footage and music are cleared for this use. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and policy guidance and copyright guidance explain the platform requirements.
  • Review the start and end of the clip for changes in lighting, camera position, movement, room tone, and music. Make the join less noticeable through editing, then listen and watch across the transition in the actual playback format you plan to stream.
  • For a playlist, decide whether clip order will stay fixed or vary, and test each possible join. A clean loop in one order does not guarantee clean transitions in another.

Check that your YouTube channel can go live

Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so complete this step well before your planned broadcast. The current requirements are in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility help and its encoder setup guide.

Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.

YouTube’s help page also states limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are platform limits, not recommended targets; check the current eligibility guidance for your channel before scheduling multiple concurrent broadcasts.

Run the loop from a local encoder

A local setup uses encoder software on a computer to send your video to YouTube. YouTube recognizes software encoders running on computers as one way to stream, as well as standalone hardware encoders. The encoder’s exact playlist and looping controls depend on the software you choose, so consult its current documentation rather than assuming YouTube has a loop switch.

  1. Enable live streaming. Verify the channel and enable live streaming in advance. If this is your first time, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
  2. Create the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key provided for that broadcast. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address”; keep the key private.
  3. Configure the encoder. Add the yoga video or playlist as the encoder’s media source, enable its loop behavior, and enter the YouTube stream URL and key in the encoder’s stream settings. Use the encoder’s own documentation for the current control names and settings; the YouTube sources do not establish exact loop controls for particular software.
  4. Start and inspect the feed. Start the encoder and check that the Live Control Room receives the picture and sound. Watch the transition across the loop, then check the public watch page and playback on a phone.
  5. Keep the local setup running. For a local encoder, the computer, power, network connection, and encoder must remain available for the duration. Monitor picture and audio during the broadcast, and if you are recording a local archive, check that its file continues to grow.

See YouTube’s encoder guide for the platform connection workflow and YouTube’s live-stream monitoring guidance for preview and playback checks. The sources do not prescribe a particular bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, editor, or encoder loop setting for this yoga use case; follow the current requirements and documentation for the encoder and video format you select.

Keep a 24/7 broadcast healthy

Monitor the incoming feed and viewer experience

Before and during the broadcast, inspect the Live Control Room preview, confirm that the stream is accessible from the channel or watch page, and test playback on mobile. Monitor both sound and picture; a connected encoder alone does not confirm that viewers are receiving a usable stream. If you are making a local recording, confirm its archive file is growing. YouTube’s monitoring guidance covers these checks.

Plan around long-stream archives

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. A 24/7 broadcast runs beyond that threshold, so do not assume one uninterrupted stream will produce an archive in the same way. Plan how you will manage broadcasts and recordings, and confirm whether any cloud provider rotates broadcasts or expects you to handle that in YouTube Studio. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Choose latency for the kind of stream you are running

For a prerecorded yoga session without live interaction, lower latency may offer little benefit. YouTube notes that lower latency can mean more buffering for viewers; choose a setting based on whether you need real-time interaction, and test actual playback. Details are in YouTube’s stream settings guidance.

Troubleshoot common problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
The stream will not start Live streaming is not enabled, the channel is not eligible, or the encoder has incorrect connection details. Confirm verification and the restriction requirement, allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation, then recheck the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio and the encoder.
The encoder connects but viewers see no picture or sound The media source, audio routing, or incoming feed may be wrong. Check the Live Control Room preview, encoder source selection, and audio meters; then test the watch page and mobile playback.
A visible jump or pop appears at each repeat The end and beginning of the source do not join cleanly, even though the encoder is looping it. Inspect the transition in the source editor and test the encoded playback. For playlists, check each adjacent clip transition.
The stream stops when you leave A local encoder depends on the computer, power, network, and software remaining available. Check the local machine and connection, or use cloud playout if you do not want a home computer to run continuously.
The encoder no longer connects after a key exposure The stream key may have been compromised and reset. Reset the key in YouTube Studio if needed, then update the encoder with the new key. Keep it private; YouTube treats it like a password.

Protect the stream key

Do not publish the key, include it in a public screenshot, or share it with people who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is compromised, an owner or manager can reset it in YouTube Studio; update the encoder with the replacement key so it can connect again. See YouTube’s stream-settings help.
