Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesAdd the logo to the OBS scene as an Image source, put it above the looping video in the Sources list, then position and size it in the preview. The logo is a separate layer: it does not set the stream’s resolution, frame rate, or bitrate. Configure and test those encoder settings separately before going live.
Add the logo to the loop scene
- Open the OBS scene that carries your loop. Keep the logo in this scene so it appears while that scene is active.
- Add an Image source. In the Sources list, add an Image source and choose the logo file. OBS’s knowledge base lists Image Sources, and YouTube describes encoder streams as supporting overlays. OBS Project Knowledge Base · YouTube live streaming tips
- Layer it above the loop. In Sources, place the logo source above the video source. If it is behind the video, it will not be visible over the picture.
- Size and position it in the preview. Keep the mark within the picture area and clear of important text, focal details, and the screen edges. These are composition recommendations, not YouTube requirements.
- Keep the logo separate. A separate source lets you move, resize, hide, or replace the mark without editing the underlying loop video.
OBS interface labels and workflows can vary by version. The source documentation cited here identifies Image Sources but does not establish a version-specific click-by-click sequence.
Set up the 4K 60fps encoder output separately
The overlay itself does not determine stream quality. You need a 3840×2160 canvas and output at 60 fps, and a source and system capable of sustaining that output. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance, accessed October 3, 2026, gives the following bitrate figures for 4K/2160p at 60 fps:
| Codec | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265 (HEVC) | 10 Mbps | 35 Mbps |
| H.264 | 14 Mbps | 50 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published figures, not a guarantee that a particular computer, encoder, or connection can sustain a stream. Choose a bitrate for the codec you are actually using; the H.264 recommendation does not apply to AV1 or H.265. YouTube recommends CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval (maximum 4 seconds), and RTMPS. Its guidance says encoder frame rates up to 60 fps are supported. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions

YouTube detects encoder settings automatically by default. A custom stream key allows manual resolution settings. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple output formats for viewers. At 4K/2160p, YouTube says its low-latency option is unavailable and streams use normal latency.
Preview and test before going public
- Check the YouTube Live Control Room preview before starting the public stream.
- Test with representative loop movement and audio, rather than relying only on a static frame.
- Check that the logo is visible, correctly layered, and not covering essential content.
- Monitor stream health and audio/video quality during the test. YouTube recommends using a preview and checking stream health. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder
Common problems and fixes
- The logo is missing: Check that the Image source is enabled and above the video source in Sources.
- The logo covers text or important imagery: Reposition or resize it in the OBS preview; placement is a design choice, not an encoder setting.
- The stream is not 4K or 60 fps: Check the canvas and output resolution and frame rate, then review YouTube’s preview and stream-health information. The logo source does not change these settings.
- Stream health reports problems: Confirm the selected codec’s bitrate against YouTube’s 4K60 guidance and check that the encoder and connection can sustain the output. Use CBR and the recommended keyframe interval.
- A test looks different from the local preview: Review the Live Control Room preview and test with representative motion and audio before publishing; YouTube transcodes the incoming stream for viewers.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous prerecorded-video stream, StreamNeo is an alternative to leaving OBS and a computer running at home. Your computer can be off, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Your upload streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; the first day is free with no card.
