What you need to know about the 11-guest limit
Streamlabs’ Collab Cam product page says the free Streamlabs Desktop option includes one guest and Ultra supports up to 11 additional guests or camera angles. A separate Streamlabs article describes Ultra as allowing all 12 available slots. In practical terms, Streamlabs presents the 11 as additional capacity, not 11 total slots including the host or initial slot. Collab Cam lets guests join through a browser link; they do not need to be in the same room. A phone, tablet, or laptop can also serve as an optional additional camera angle, but an extra device is not required to invite a remote guest.
Add guests in Streamlabs Desktop
- Open Streamlabs Desktop.
- In Sources, select the plus sign, choose Collab Cam, and add the source.
- Open the Collab Cam source and select Start Collab Cam.
- Copy the generated invitation link and send it privately to each intended guest. Streamlabs’ guide describes sending it by direct message or email.
- Ask guests to open the link and join. Check each incoming video before placing it on the broadcast.
- For each guest you want viewers to see, select Show on Stream.
- Repeat for the remaining guests, then arrange and resize the feeds to suit your scene. Streamlabs does not provide a tested recommended layout for exactly 11 guests, so check that names, faces, and any shared content remain legible in your own scene.

Check audio and protect the invite link
Confirm the audience can hear every guest
Hearing a guest in your own setup does not guarantee that the audience hears them. Streamlabs notes that if the host can hear a guest but the audience cannot, adding an extra microphone source may help. Before the event, make a test recording or check the live program from an audience-side device, and confirm the guest’s voice is audible in the output mix.
Share the link only with intended guests
Treat the Collab Cam invite as access to the guest-joining flow. Streamlabs advises sharing it only with people you know and trust, avoiding screen sharing during setup if you are already live, and generating a new link if the old one may have been leaked or shared too widely. Guests also need to follow the rules of the platform where you are broadcasting.

Use Collab Cam from a phone
Streamlabs documents Collab Cam on iOS and Android. The mobile guide describes creating or choosing a scene, adding a guest layer, naming the guest, and sharing a join link. The host can adjust the guest’s placement and audio/video settings and copy or regenerate the link. Guests may join before the stream starts or while it is already live. A spare phone, tablet, or laptop can be used as an extra camera view; it is optional, not a requirement for remote guests or for the Ultra capacity. For an in-room group, participants can also use their phones as additional views.
