The Witch’s Bakery uses three separate progression checks: recipe unlocked, recipe cooked at least once, and recipe raised to its maximum level. Your dialogue decisions are recorded independently as branch outcomes and achievement flags. The bakery day, evening activities in Paris, and nighttime Atelier each advance different parts of the ledger, so a complete recipe list does not by itself mean every cooking or mastery achievement is complete. The two Chapter One naming choices are mutually exclusive in one save, making a second playthrough or a preserved alternate save necessary for full achievement coverage.
How progression is divided across a day
The official Steam description presents The Witch’s Bakery as a cozy adventure RPG about a witch opening a bakery in modern Paris. Its progression is deliberately split between three types of play rather than concentrated in the shop interface.
Bakery service
During service, you sell baked goods for euros. This is where recipe selection turns into income and customer results. Each recipe has its own sale cost, preparation time and skill level. Money milestones and customer-facing outcomes therefore depend on more than simply finding a recipe in the notebook.

After work, you visit Paris districts, meet characters and undertake activities that teach skills or advance relationships and quests. The achievement ledger treats these outings as progress in their own right: films, books, restaurants, theater and concerts all appear as activity categories. A player who spends every evening only on bakery development can therefore miss non-baking achievements.

Nighttime Atelier work
The Atelier is the practice phase. Working on a recipe there raises that recipe’s level. Higher levels can increase earnings and customer satisfaction, so Atelier time is both an achievement requirement and an economic decision. Unlocking a recipe gives you access to it; it does not perform the practice needed for maximum level.
What a dialogue choice actually changes
The Chapter One pastry name
In Chapter One, you choose whether the chocolate pastry is called “Pain au chocolat” or “Chocolatine.” The choice changes the product name displayed in the Recipes menu and determines which of the two corresponding choice achievements can be recorded. It does not create two different pastries with separate ingredients or a separate recipe-level track.
Opposed achievements
The walkthrough identifies the two names as opposed choices: selecting one prevents the other from being earned in that same save. This is a branch-coverage issue, not a failure to discover a hidden recipe. Keep a save before the naming decision if you want to return to the alternative, or plan a second playthrough and select the other name.

How to preserve branch coverage
- Before confirming the Chapter One naming decision, create a manual save in a slot you will not overwrite.
- Choose one name and continue far enough for the associated achievement to register.
- Use the preserved save, or a new playthrough, to select the other name if you are pursuing every achievement.
- Record the selected name in your own checklist so you do not repeat the same branch accidentally.
Most other achievements are cumulative: story chapters, side quests, relationships, income milestones, decorations, emotional powers and activities can be pursued in the same general run. The naming decision is the documented exception that requires branch coverage.
Unlocking, cooking and mastering are different recipe states
The game’s achievement wording separates three actions. Treat them as independent columns in a checklist rather than as synonyms.

This explains the common completion gap: a full-looking notebook can coexist with incomplete “cook all recipes” and “max level all recipes” achievements. A recipe can be unlocked but untouched, or cooked once but still below maximum level.

Where recipes come from
The current community checklist reports 15 recipes. That number is guide-reported, not an official publisher statistic, and it should be used as a planning target rather than as a guarantee that every future edition or update will use the same total.

The categories explain why simply advancing the main chapters may not reveal the entire collection. Book purchases and character content sit outside the minimum story path, so a completion run must include exploration and optional interactions.
How to level every recipe efficiently
Build a three-column recipe log
Use one row for every recipe and three status columns: unlocked, cooked once and maximum level. Add a fourth note for the acquisition source—starting, story, Hassan’s book, conversation or quest. This prevents a newly acquired book recipe from being mistaken for a mastered one and makes missing optional content visible.

Cook before you grind
When a recipe first appears, prepare it at least once before concentrating on Atelier practice. This satisfies the separate cooking requirement and confirms that the recipe is usable. If you postpone the first preparation until the end, it is easy to confuse “high level” progress on familiar items with the all-recipes cooking requirement.
Use the Atelier for targeted practice
- Open the Recipes menu and identify recipes that are unlocked but not yet at maximum level.
- Choose one under-level recipe for Atelier work rather than repeatedly practicing recipes that are already capped.
- Continue rotating through the unfinished list until every row shows maximum level.
- Check bakery results afterward: higher recipe levels can improve earnings and customer satisfaction, but the achievement condition remains the level cap itself.
The available material does not establish exact experience values, practice times, level caps or a fastest rotation. Do not infer an optimal schedule from the recipe’s sale price alone: preparation time and current skill level also matter.

Because the ledger combines social, economic, collection, activity and story goals, an achievement-hunting route should alternate between shop work, Atelier practice and Paris outings.
One playthrough or two?
For a normal story run
Choose the pastry name you prefer, follow the chapters, and pursue recipes and relationships as they become available. You can still unlock the recipe collection, cook each item and raise levels in that save; the trade-off is that one of the two opposed naming achievements will remain unavailable there.
For full achievement completion
Plan for two branches unless you use a pre-choice save. Complete the first naming outcome, then reload the preserved decision or start another run for the other outcome. Continue tracking cumulative achievements in whichever save contains your main collection and maximum-level work.
For a low-backtracking route
- Preserve a save immediately before the Chapter One naming choice.
- During each chapter, check for newly available Paris districts, character conversations and side quests.
- Buy each available Hassan book and confirm its recipe in the Recipes menu.
- Cook every newly unlocked recipe once before moving on.
- Use spare nighttime Atelier sessions on recipes that are below maximum level.
- Review the achievement ledger after story chapters, major quests and activity outings rather than waiting until the finale.
Completion checklist
- Record whether you selected “Pain au chocolat” or “Chocolatine.”
- Keep an untouched save before that choice if both dialogue achievements matter to you.
- Count the guide-reported target of 15 recipes, while recognizing that the count is not an official publisher figure.
- For every recipe, mark unlocked, cooked once and maximum level as separate statuses.
- Check story rewards, Hassan’s six books, and conversation- or quest-linked rewards.
- Rotate Atelier practice toward recipes that have not reached maximum level.
- Schedule films, books, restaurants, theater and concerts alongside bakery work.
- Track side quests, relationships, emotional powers, decorations and income milestones in addition to recipe goals.
What is not established
No reliable published figure establishes an average completion time, player choice frequency, recipe success rate or achievement difficulty. The available listings also do not provide a universal fastest Atelier order, exact level-cap values or a guaranteed number of sessions for each recipe. Those details can vary with play style and progression, so completion plans should rely on the in-game status indicators rather than an assumed timer or success percentage.
The practical rule is simple: treat every recipe as three tasks, every optional source as a possible unlock route, and every opposed dialogue outcome as a separate branch.
