Poke is an AI assistant that TechJuice describes as accessible through messaging apps rather than a dedicated app or command line. The idea is simple: start through Poke.com, share a phone number, and ask for help in a messaging conversation. TechJuice reported the service became publicly available in March 2026, but its current availability and capabilities should be confirmed with Poke directly.
What is Poke?
Poke is a messaging-based AI assistant developed by The Interaction Company of California, according to TechJuice. Instead of installing a separate assistant app, users can reportedly reach it through an existing messaging service. That approach makes the interaction feel familiar: send a request as a text, then receive a response in the conversation.
TechJuice says Poke grew out of an email-management beta. Co-founder Marvin von Hagen told the publication that users began asking the assistant to handle tasks beyond email, including medication reminders, sports results and daily weather updates. The article reports that Poke became publicly available in March 2026; that launch date is a report by TechJuice, not independently confirmed here.
How does using an AI assistant by text work?
TechJuice says people begin at Poke.com by entering a phone number, then continue through a messaging application. The publication names iMessage, SMS and Telegram, plus WhatsApp in select markets. It does not specify which markets support WhatsApp, and the report does not establish current regional availability.

The appeal is reduced setup friction: users can ask for help in a channel they already use instead of learning a new interface or installing a command-line tool.
