Plan for more than 131 GB if you want all three remakes, but do not treat 131 GB as an official collection requirement. That figure adds the 26 GB PC requirement listed for Resident Evil 2, the reported 45 GB PC requirement for Resident Evil 3, and the 60 GB PS5 requirement for Resident Evil 4. Because it mixes PC and PS5 figures, it is only an indicative planning total.
Capcom does not publish one authoritative combined install-size figure for the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy. Your actual requirement depends on platform generation, edition, downloadable content, language files, patches and whether a store number describes required free space or an observed installation.

What the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy includes
Capcom’s official bundle combines three modern remakes: Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition content. The collection is listed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Steam.

Those edition labels matter for storage. A Deluxe or Gold Edition can include additional content that is not present in a standard game installation. The bundle description establishes which editions are included, but it does not provide a single combined download or installation size. Treat each platform’s store or support figure as a separate value rather than assuming that the three games occupy an identical amount of space everywhere.

The storage figures that are actually documented
The following are the platform-specific numbers available for the individual remakes. They are not all measured in the same way, so the source and qualification stay attached to every number.

No equivalent combined figure is established here for the full trilogy on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 or PS5. A console store page can also change its requirement as patches, language packages or edition contents change, so check the live listing for the exact version you intend to download.
How to interpret the often-quoted 131 GB total

26 GB + 45 GB + 60 GB = 131 GB.
That calculation is useful as a warning that the trilogy is a large installation, but it is not a guaranteed PC, PlayStation or Xbox total. The first two values are PC figures, while the third is the PS5 requirement for Resident Evil 4. A mixed-platform sum cannot predict how much space the same games will use on one device.
The calculation also omits any platform-specific number for Resident Evil 4 on PC, for the first two games on PlayStation, and for all three games on Xbox. It therefore cannot answer whether a particular drive will have enough free space. Use it only as an indicative upper planning number until you verify every title on your target platform.
Platform-by-platform planning
PC through Steam
For PC, the documented requirements are 26 GB for Resident Evil 2 and a reported 45 GB for Resident Evil 3. Together they represent a 71 GB PC subtotal. The available material does not establish a PC storage requirement for Resident Evil 4, so do not add the PS5 value to your PC calculation.

Before starting a PC download, open the current Steam page for each game and record the storage requirement shown there. Confirm that the game is being installed on the intended library drive; Steam may use a different drive from the one containing the operating-system files. Leave additional free capacity beyond the displayed requirements for updates and any content you choose to install. The sources do not quantify that overhead, so no fixed buffer can be promised.
PlayStation 5
Capcom lists Resident Evil 4 at 60 GB or more on PS5. This is a PS5-specific required-capacity statement, not a measurement for the complete trilogy. The PS5 versions of the other remakes need their own current store values, and those values are not supplied here.
If you are installing all three games on an internal SSD or an expansion drive, check each PS5 product page separately. Make sure you select the PS5 edition rather than a PS4 entitlement when both appear in the same store listing, because the platform generation can change the required capacity.
PlayStation 4
Capcom lists the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4 at 30 GB or more. That is half the stated PS5 requirement for that game, but it should not be used to infer a proportional difference for the other remakes. Obtain the PS4 listing for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 before calculating a complete PS4 total.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
The trilogy is listed for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, yet no Xbox storage figures are established in the available documentation. Do not substitute the PS4 or PS5 numbers for Xbox. Open the Microsoft Store page for the exact console version, note the required space, and repeat the check for each game and any included add-on.
Required free space versus installed size
A store listing’s “required space” is a planning requirement, not necessarily a byte-for-byte report of the final folder after installation. Installers can need temporary working space while unpacking files, and an update can require free room before old files are replaced. Capcom’s PS4 and PS5 entries explicitly use “required capacity” language, while the Steam values are store requirements.

Do not compare those numbers as if they were all laboratory measurements made under one method. The safest practice is to regard each figure as the minimum free space requested by that platform’s listing, then keep extra capacity available for updates, downloadable content and language options. Because no source quantifies that overhead, any precise “you need exactly X GB free” claim would be misleading.
Edition and downloadable-content effects
The bundle uses Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition content, while Resident Evil 3 is included as its named edition in the bundle description. If you own a standard edition separately, its installed content may not match the bundle’s contents.
Downloadable content can be delivered as additional files, an entitlement that unlocks files already present, or a mixture of both. The available storage figures do not break out the size of every included extra. Consequently, a base-game requirement from a store page should not be presented as the exact size of the complete Deluxe or Gold package.
Language packs are another reason two installations of the same title can differ. If your platform lets you select audio or text languages, review the installation options before downloading every available package. Patches can also alter the final footprint over time.
A reliable way to calculate your own requirement
- Identify the exact hardware. Write down PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or PC. Do not combine figures from different generations.
- Identify the edition. Confirm whether the listing is the trilogy bundle, a standard game, Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition or Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition content.
- Open the current store or support page. Record the required capacity for each of the three games, including any separately listed add-ons.
- Check the installation destination. On PC, verify the Steam library drive. On consoles, check the internal or expansion storage device that will receive the games.
- Add the three platform-matched figures. Only add numbers that refer to the same platform generation and edition. Mark any value that is missing rather than replacing it with a number from another platform.
- Reserve additional free space. Keep room beyond the arithmetic total for updates, DLC and installer activity. The available sources do not specify a universal buffer.
- Recheck before downloading. Requirements can change when a publisher updates a listing or when you select another language or edition.
What to do when the drive reports insufficient space
Verify the target version first
A PS5 and PS4 version may appear together in a purchase or library screen. Confirm which one is queued. The documented Resident Evil 4 figures differ by generation—60 GB or more on PS5 versus 30 GB or more on PS4—so selecting the higher-generation build can materially change the space required.
Remove unused installations, not save data
Uninstall a game you can redownload rather than deleting save files indiscriminately. Before removing anything, confirm that saves are synchronized or backed up through the storage method available on your platform. The goal is to recover installation space without sacrificing progress.

Check add-ons and language packages
Review the game’s manage-content screen and remove optional add-ons or language packages you do not use. Because the bundle includes Deluxe and Gold Edition content, verify that an add-on is genuinely optional before deleting it; some items may be required for the edition you purchased.

If an installation fails even though the displayed requirement appears to fit, free more space and retry. Temporary update files can require room beyond the final installed size. A larger margin also prevents an update from stopping midway because the drive filled during file replacement.
Practical scenarios
Installing the PC versions of all three games
Start with the documented 71 GB subtotal for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Do not add 60 GB, because that is the PS5 figure for Resident Evil 4. Look up the current PC requirement for Resident Evil 4, add it to the 71 GB subtotal, then reserve further room for patches and the edition’s included content.
Installing the PS5 versions
Use 60 GB or more for Resident Evil 4 as the confirmed PS5 component. Obtain the live PS5 requirements for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 before declaring a trilogy total. The 131 GB mixed-platform arithmetic is not a PS5 estimate.
Installing the PS4 versions
Use 30 GB or more for the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4. Find the PS4 figures for the other two games separately; do not use their PC requirements. A PS4 total cannot be derived from the documented numbers alone.

The Resident Evil Remake Trilogy contains three substantial remakes, but there is no official single number for the complete collection. The firm figures available are 26 GB for Resident Evil 2 on Steam, a reported 45 GB for Resident Evil 3 on PC that should be checked against the live listing, and 30 GB or more for Resident Evil 4 on PS4 or 60 GB or more on PS5. Use platform-matched listings for your final calculation and keep additional free space for updates, DLC and edition-specific content.
