How to judge the real monthly cost
Compare renewal and commitment, not only the headline rate
Promotional pricing can make the first term look cheaper than the rate charged at renewal. Compare each plan’s promotional figure, renewal figure, and billing commitment. Confirm whether taxes or other charges affect the checkout price rather than multiplying the promotional monthly figure into a projected long-term total.
Check included transfer and overage rules
Streaming uses network capacity, but a plan’s included bandwidth and billing rules determine whether that usage creates an extra charge. Verify what counts toward the allowance and what happens if you exceed it. The cited Hostinger pages do not establish current overage charges.
Restreamer’s FAQ gives an older qualitative warning that an HD live stream can quickly use more than 1 GB per day. That is not a universal measurement or a monthly estimate for your setup. Actual transfer depends on stream duration and bitrate, whether the VPS relays or re-encodes video, additional destinations, and how the provider counts traffic. Restreamer’s network settings also include outbound HLS controls for viewers; those settings should not be mistaken for a VPS provider’s transfer allowance or YouTube ingest traffic. Its official deployment guidance recommends official Docker images for supported deployments; the documentation notes that minimum requirements matter for official support and SLAs.
